We loved location of the property! The pictures on the website are accurate! We stayed here 6 nights and would stay again. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a view of the beach front with a private balcony with two chairs and a hammock. The property has a nice private beach front, and is close to the town center, so restaurants and convince stores are very close. The included breakfast from the attached restaurant was Excellent! I'd recommend the Rojo Chilaquiles, the Vegetarian Omelet, and the Avocado Toast. The staff at the Hotel and restaurant were kind and courteous, Rubi at the front desk welcomed us, and sent us off, she was wonderful! At the beach restaurant, Julian makes the best cocktail's we've ever had, Margaritas and Pina Coladas were our favorites. At breakfast, Tao, Jasmine, and the rest of the staff provided 5 star service. We also had the property arrange our transfer services to and from the Cancun Airport and the experience was top notch.

The tides do effect the amount of available beach front, so be aware of this... even at high tide we were still able to use some of the chase lounges on the beach. On the third day of our stay we had a significant amount of sea weed wash up on the beach. The property staff worked hard to remove it, but it was a daunting task. The seaweed had no odor but prevented us from wanting to enter the water none the less. Please note that this really only impacted 1 our our 6 day visit.

Great location, great staff, AC worked well, ocean front, excellent food options and bar. Transportation arrangements to CUN airport were perfect.

Our room did not have a balcony, several do not, and it was too hot to open windows. A hammock in the room is not a great substitute. Wifi was sketchy. No pool. No foot wash station so sand was in the room. Limited beach due to high water level was the most challenging issue with beach walkers literally walking around our chairs. Roof top outside lounge eliminated if you have been here before to add more rooms. Tips for staff must be cash only FYI.

Overall, it was an amazing and really pleasant stay.

The only downside was breakfast. I had expected a buffet or at least a bit more flexibility. Unfortunately, you could only choose one item from the menu, which felt quite limiting. I think it would have made a big difference if it was possible to pick at least two items – for example, eggs and some fruit, or something sweet on the side. It simply didn’t live up to our expectations, and we were quite disappointed with that part of the experience.

We stayed here in late May for 5 nights. Description: The hotel is located just a few blocks from the main tourist/commercial area and easily accessible. It sits on the water and has its own beach, with the beach bar and restaurant open during daylight hours. Our room was modestly sized but very clean, and it had a great balcony to view the beach from the shade. Food: the hotel bar and restaurant served a lot of variety and was phenomenal. We had the included breakfast almost every day, and we ordered lunch, snacks, and drinks throughout our week. Very tasty and convenient. Service: the staff, especially at the front desk, was helpful, available, and communicative. Tours: we used the hotel’s organized tours for (1) kayaking in the mangroves area; (2) night kayaking to see the bioluminescence; and (3) boat tour with snorkeling, fishing, and visiting Cabo Catoche. All were excellent and reasonably priced. It was convenient to book with the hotel without much advanced planning. Plus the tour guides were clearly knowledgeable about the island and eco-conscious.

Cons: it did not bother us that much, but note that there was limited shaded area on the beach; there were 2 umbrellas but otherwise mostly palm trees, which did not provide enough shade at high noon. Hopefully the hotel adds some more umbrellas.

Located 10 meters from the sea, you wake up with the sounds of the waves, such a pleasure. A great hotel, very clean, the room was large, the staff was great and the food at the beach bar is excellent. Right off the entrance to the hotel you can find a tiny stand of jewelery. It's called MAKTUB, we loved the owner Gabi. Its not part of the hotel but we enjoyed so much buying gifts there. It's a great got electric at super location, we will definitely return if we get to Halbox.

We loved that the ocean was so close to our room. We could open the window and see and hear the ocean. The bed, especially the pillows were divine. The breakfast was delicious and they offered a wide variety of choices. The restaurant and bar were so convenient and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the guacamole and margaritas! The staff were so kind and helpful. The location was perfect! The beach was a little secluded from the rows of hotels and restaurants.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Cannot say enough about them. Breakfast was incredibly delicious and so convenient. Property is small and feels really personal. Bed was super super comfortable and balcony view was great.

Really was nothing we did not like. One thing to be aware of though, price was quoted in dollars, first half paid upfront was billed that way, second half is paid at property using their exchange rate which resulted in the second half being 40 usd more- I don’t really think that is reasonable as it changed the nightly rate a fair amount.

The location is the best! You can walk to bars and restaurants in the town in just minutes. The rooms are very nice and extremely clean. The restaurant has delicious affordable food and the staff are helpful and friendly. The air conditioning works well so the room is always cool and fresh.

You need to get a chair at the beach early to have some shade.

The outdoor amenities and setting at La Palapa are wonderful, very close to town yet still feels secluded with its private beach. We walked by the long beach strip that has most other hotels, and there was so much seaweed that guests couldn’t reach the sea (not to mention the smell). However, the water in front of La Palapa was clear and dreamy. The staff was also absolutely wonderful, helpful at all times, there was a genuine positive atmosphere. Finally, we also really enjoyed the food, more so than expected! Thanks to the team for a wonderful stay

The walls are quite thin so it does get quite noisy in the evenings unfortunately, but the hotel kindly provides earplugs which is a nice gesture. Also, although I enjoyed the ability to have a tab running throughout our stay, it was a real bummer that we couldn’t tip by card. Unfortunately we did not have enough cash and I felt bad as the staff works hard and more than deserves it. So hopefully this is a feature they can include as I’m sure we weren’t the only ones!

Everything about this hotel is perfect. Located on a private beach which only has a very small number of people passing through as they walk further up the beach. Food and drinks from the bar are perfect, the room is exceptionally clean and the staff can't do enough for you. We can't thank the guys at the bar enough, the breakfast and lunch was absolutely amazing and the cocktails even better (we're really sorry but we can't remember the lovely guys name from the beach bar but he was amazing and so so friendly) Please thank all of the staff for their hospitality, from the reception staff to the bar staff, chefs and cleaners. Everyone we spoke to was extremely friendly and they cannot do enough for you. We will definitely be back!
