Staff were friendly. The balcony room was nice with nice furniture. Comfortable room & building throughout. During the stay there was some massive tropical rain showers which brings out the mosquitos. The staff on the front desk provided me with mosquito repellent before I went out because even the locals were suffering from them at the time. That was very much appreciated.

Check in process is a bit of a pain, when it is quite a remote place to get to. No smoking on the balconies outside the room. I expect rooms to be non-smoking but not the external balconies with the room door shut. Luckily had a room on the 2nd Floor. If I'd been on the ground floor I would have flooded out with the rain. Restaurant & Bar on the rooftop is nice, but again no smoking with a beer on a night time, even away from people & out on the balcony.

The hotel is perfectly located a short walk to the centre of holbox. There is also a quieter beach right at the end of the street with a small beach bar. Staff were great and had beach towels and recommendations ready when I arrived. They also helped organise a taxi to the port for me when I left. Great experience

Only small thing is wifi only works in the hotel lobby - this is similar to the rest of holbox so not something that you should let put you off - 4G also works across the island so not a problem for me

We were very well received. The staff was super friendly. It’s a great value for money hotel and we liked the simplicity of it.

It was very noisy during the evening, night and morning. After reading the reviews we expected some noise from outside the property, but it were our neighbours and other guests from the hotel making loads of noise. Moreover we found some old trash in the room from previous guests behind the nightstand

Spacious, clean, close to beach and close to town. There was a nice cafe next to it right at the beach to grab Mexican breakfast, we loved it! Restaurant at the rooftop did great dinner - seafood pasta and tuna steaks were our faves. Beaches are better on the other side of the town, but it’s all perfectly walkable. Would stay there again if at Holbox😊

Central to the town and almost right on the beach. You are able to walk to the hotel from ferry in around 15 minutes. Basic room a little worn around the edges but ok for the price.

Balcony was large with comfortable chairs but looked over a scruffy road and view wasn’t particularly nice. Other than the friendly female receptionist other staff seemed disinterested and didn’t acknowledge us when coming and going from the hotel.

Staff is friendly, they clean thoroughly every day, A/C works well, rooms are big enough and have a balcony. The property is well-located, literally 15 meters from the beach and close to the center. Let alone it was a very economical deal as I paid a low price compared to other hotels on the island.

The only downside is the WIFI doesn't work in the rooms so if you're planning on working from your room or from the lobby, forget about it. You'd have to go to a cafe to work from there. There is one in front of the hotel so not a big deal.

The staff was really nice and helpful (Mateo especially). We were able to go to the pool of the other Macondo hotel. They offered good tours. Great location. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Good AC.

The room was quite dark even with lights on. Not enough hangers in the room. Water pressure was not great.

Internet is only available in the common area and we were not allowed to be in the common areas after midnight. So if you are a person who also work while travelling, this is not a place for you. If you are a person who needs a good value for money but dont need WiFi - this is a great place.

Small colonial hotel, almost next to the beach. Very close to the centre, restaurants, bars, shops. Ideal location. And not right at the bussy street.

Almost everything was perfect. One of receptionist spoke very little english. Not enough to explain something.

I had a wonderful time at Hotel Macondo Holbox. The hotel is centrally located so you can walk to a coffee shop, bar, or the beach within 2 minutes. Mateo, at the front desk, is a wonderful person. He's always smiling and taking care of the guests.
