Great location if you are travelling by ADO buses - right across the road from the terminal. Walking distance to the beach, Quinta avenida, several restaurants, Walmart, and another big supermarket. Gd taco stall right across the road for cheap eats. Very friendly staff who mostly spoke gd English or we managed with Google translate. Great cafe next door that does fabulous breakfasts and healthy drinks etc. Open 8.30 ‐ 2pm. The pool felt chilly when I first arrived, but a few days later, it was warm enough for me to go in - I hate cold water! The room was huge and very clean but the sofa bed and curtains etc were very old and tired. Small fridge was useful to keep drinks cold and there is a free water station down in the reception area. Also, coffee, but I didn't use that as I don't drink coffee. It's not the cheapest place to stay but a bit of luxury for me after backpacking around Belize for 3 weeks. Very quiet at night and not much noise from neighbouring rooms either.

It was a nice hotel to stay for a short trip, not to much people so you can get some rest

It is in front of a school and if you get one of the rooms with city view, you can hear all that noise from the students, and you cannot even sleep during the day.

Spacious, clean room. Relatively quiet. Large bathroom, lot of space to your toiletries and magnifying mirror. Shampoo was provided. Big shower with hot water. Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Pool looked nice, did not try though. Excellent location next to ADO Alterna. Lovely cafe around the corner to have healthy breakfast. Wi-Fi was fast. Good a/c and fan. Fridge. Elevator.

Pillows were really too thick and hard. Room did not smell nice. Old couch. No luggage rack. The view: windows overlooking a busy street.

I had reservations to another hotel near 5th street, it was so nosy and we decided to change hotel, I found Playa Encantada online, when I arrived I couldn’t use my Amex and decide to pay online, the receptionist keep us waiting saying it would take two hrs for her to get the reservation , if we did the reservation directly with her ( was more expensive but she will give us the keys sooner, it was 8 or 9 pm, we came from long flight and hungry with our luggage, it really seems she just want us to keep waiting because we didn’t buy with her , she keep saying “ va a tardar dos horas en caer la reservación”

We had reserved for one night and decided to stay one more night , spoke to Angel at reception , amazing costumer service he extended our stay without problem , very nice guy with a pleasant smile , I like the hotel being clean and white sheets , very good for the price

Excellent location across the road from ADO bus station where we caught a bus the next day. Very nice clean swimming pool where we cooled off after a long day travelling. Great that there's a lift so no need to carry bags up to the second floor where we stayed. Spacious room for the 3 of us with two large beds. Quiet location and aircon worked well so we would have slept well if son hadn't woken us at 2 a.m. Free morning coffee in the lobby was much appreciated. Nearby supermarkets to buy supplies for bus trip.

Bed bases are getting a little tatty (but comfortable) and sheets had stains.

Great location for getting to the beach and local places to eat and shop. The staff were lovely, especially the guy who worked in the evening, always had a big smile on his face. Our room was kept spotless each day, with fresh bed sheets and towels, the housekeeper Lucy was amazing. Nice pool area to chill by outside, towels provided if requested. We made good use of the kitchenette, cooking meals some evening. Plenty of storage in the kitchen too.

The building is next to a warehouse which is noisy pretty much 24/7. Not the hotel's fault but be mindful if you need a peaceful night's rest. The room type we booked (2 double beds) was only available on the second floor, facing the warehouse.

We have stayed here 2 times before and would return again. Large apartment, great air conditioner in bedroom, full size fridge, inviting pool, 5th avenue is well within walking distance, close to Wal-Mart for groceries. Kitchen supplies are minimal but adequate. Had parking for our bikes, offers luggage storage. Some receptionists are friendlier than others.

Bring your own tea towels, dish clothes, face cloths as they are not provided. We asked for a toaster but the hotel doesn't supply them. Next to to a very noisy recycling depot with large, noisy trucks coming all day-crashing and banging as they unload. It starts early in the morning. At night, large buses unloading tourists for night clubs park right next door to the hotel and often keep their motors running until they leave. Sargassum weeds makes beaches impossible to use and unpleasant to walk along. The hotel has a pool and we enjoyed the pool rather than the beach.

upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff who were able to check us in a little bit early, the rooms were fantastic, spacious and very comfy, location was perfect, only a few minutes from the beach and the strip. each day the amazing house keepers cleaned our room to make it more cleanliness for us, don’t forget to tip your housekeepers! all in all I would definitely recommend this hotel if you were wanting a stay in playa del Carmen! I will be coming back!

really surprised by how nice this hotel is! we really enjoyed our stay even if the weather wasn’t great. The room has all the facilities you need, it was wide and the bed was very comfortable! the TV has many movies. it is walking distance everywhere and the staff were very nice!

the only thing is that we booked the room with a coffee machine but they didn’t provide the coffee or the filters so we ended up not using it as we weren’t interested in buying those for a couple of nights. but maybe it’s a common practice that we’re not aware of
