The location was perfect for the medina and a short walk from everything in the old part of the city. The staff were helpful and communicated well. Our room was comfortable however, during the day and evening there could be quite a lot of noise from people and children down the alley -This is to be expected in a city and it was quiet at night. Breakfast on the rooftop was fresh and delicious, and it kept us going for most of the day - be warned, the gulls enjoy it too! So let staff know when you are leaving your table, otherwise they will raid the plates! The rooftop was relaxing and you could hear the crashing waves of the sea.

It would be improved if the riad was able to manage the smell of cats - they are all over the city and it is obviously tricky keeping them out, but the smell could be very strong in places, especially on the rooftop, where you eat breakfast and relax.

The Riad was located in a quiet side street but in the center of the old town, a great location. It was beautifully decorated and furnished and our host was very knowledgable and helpful, he made some excellent restaurant recommendations and booked our taxi and porter, which was helpful. Our bed was super comfy and the room quiet . The breakfast was served on a wonderful sunny terrace, beautifully furnished with low balcony walls to protect you from the wind. It was overlooking the old town and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with the chef cooking from fresh in the terrace kitchen. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this Riad. We wished we could have stayed longer.

🛌 Cosy and comfortable room, very clean too. Very nice bathroom amenities. The riad itself is beautifully decorated and feels really warm ☕️ The breakfast was excellent, just a well made traditional Moroccan meal 📍Worth mentioning the great location in the center of the medina, near everything you’d need really good

Just some minor details : 🏘️ The small street leading to the riad was blocked once and was a bit dirty sometimes, but no big deal 🍶 Water was not refilled at all during the stay

Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Fresh roses everywhere. Large bottle of water in the room always provided. Excellent and plentiful breakfast. Staff happy to make arrangements for us for luggage transfer and for car to Marrakesh. Location perfect and views from up top wonderful. Linens and towels fresh and plentiful

Small issue only - I wish there could have been more room to hang clothes and put away clothes as there were 2 of us and we were there for 6 nights.

We loved our stay at Villa Garance. It was in a great location, quiet but central. Breakfast, which was enormous and delicious, was included and the staff were amazing. Our room was beautiful with traditional fittings and an enormous bed.. the ensuite had lovely argan oil products which were a real treat. We would definitely go back.

We must have just been unlucky but we were woken each night by street noise, being the first floor and windows looking out onto the street. One night a loud cat fight, another night by a loud human fight - as mentioned, I'm sure it was just unlucky that two very loud very angry men were fighting at 3am outside downstairs below our room.

I really liked having breakfast everyday on the roof terrace, and spending time on the sun loungers during the afternoons. It made the Riad feel like better value for money as it was more than just a place to sleep, but also a lovely place to spend time during the day and take in the rooftop and sea views. The room was very comfortable, and had great storage.

If I had to give any feedback, it would be nice to have proper doors on the en-suite bathrooms. However, this seems to be a common theme with Riads in Morocco so this is not specific to this property. I also booked airport transfers through the Riad, but was required to pay for these in cash directly to the drivers which was a bit difficult, I would have liked to pay the Riad by card and have them sort out the payment.

Very good breakfasts. Extremely polite and attentive staff. The room is adequate in size with modern bathroom hardware and reliable water. The Villa is well placed in the town: close to everything yet very quiet. The staff took care of all our needs and provided useful information. If you have balance issues request a room on a lower floor. Though the terrace is charming it is a long way up.

Absolutely not their fault but it was very windy. Apparently Essaouira is a windy little town. The presence of Portuguese architecture makes the town quite unique.

Beautiful riad in the center of the old town. Loved the breakfast in the morning (the omelet was fantastic) and the design of the entire place was perfect.

The only issue that I think others have wrote about is that the local boys play football in the streets every day, which can be a bit loud if you have front room and the windows open. They typically go home for dinner, which means that the evenings were still quiet so we didn't really mind.

A beautiful place to put your bags down & relax. The Riads staff were friendly & warm. The breakfast service excellent and my room was very comfortable and clean. Thank you to the lovely ladies in Red (housekeeping) for making my stay memorable and the gentleman whom served breakfast with a smile each day.
