Comfy bed, only 1 pillow each. Simple furnishings, good shower. Our room, reasonable size, opened onto communal terrace and was warmed during the day by the sun ( evenings were cool). At this time of year the terrace was quiet in the evening.Towels washed every day if required. Very simple rooms but excellent value. Right in the middle of the shopping streets of the medina.

The terrace had washing draped everywhere all day. The sheets were too small for our bed, very annoying. Needed a bath mat by the shower. Could have done with a couple of hand towels. (It occurred to us that in warmer weather this top bedroom might be noisy in the evenings with people gathering, and the room would get hot as no a/c.)

We spent an amazing time in Essaouira, we fell in love with the city, the medina and the slow pace of everything. Thd hotel was in the heart of the medina, 5min walk to the beach, the room was very clean and the whole facility although an old building is very well maintained. You can hear everything, all the vibrant sounds of shop keepers, shoppers roaming around the alleyways of the medina. We truly appreciated the proximity to everything even the bus station CTM is a 4min drive by taxi and costs 8dhs.

The location was great! We loved the space in our room. It was perfect for our almost 2 year old. Not too many things for her to mess with and enough space for her to dance around. I liked that the windows had wooden shutters and light curtains to give you different levels of opened and closed.

The breakfast was good enough. Keep in mind that if you choose to book this riad, the excellent location means there will be noise. This is the case with pretty much any riad in any town in Morocco. I actually enjoyed it but something for travelers to be aware of.

Opening my bedroom door directly onto the terrace for breakfast (and relaxing in the evening / night) was an extraordinary experience! A real bonus having my own front door key to come and go without disturbing anyone late at night. The good generous breakfast was prepared with a welcoming smile under the shade of a natural parasol up on the large roof terrace. The position of the Riad in the Medina was great...and quiet compared with others I have stayed at (even though it was a few steps from a main lively thoroughfare full off shops, cafes and lots of people). All of the team at the Riad were wonderfully welcoming and informative..and it was a pleasure helping with an English lesson one evening in the foyer of the Riad...(I am an English teacher by profession..so nice to help and support the young lady on reception with her future studies). The bathroom was quite small but it was a great traditional design...especially the shower!

No air-conditioning in room...but I knew this already...and actually, in beautiful Essaouira, even though the days were hot (but not as hot as Marrakech!!!) at night it became pleasantly cool and fresh air from the windows perfect!

Nice Riad with a big room and attached bathroom that was clean and Oder free. That is a luxury in the Medina of any city. Good breakfast every morning served with a smile, could just add some fruit to take it over the top. The location is great, but on a busy street.?

Our room had a blinking neon light from the pharmacy across the street that was a bit annoying. The beds and bed frames need an upgrade.

We stayed there for 4 nights and the location, the size of the room and the daily cleaning were good. We booked it with breakfast and it was delicious every day. The staff was nice and helpful.

My opinion is that if the people who live there could use the kitchen from noon after breakfast is served and it was possible to wash clothes at the accommodation, then even more people would choose that place.

Located in the very heart of Essaouira's Medina, Riad Le Grande Large is a taste of authentic Morocco. Staff very helpful and pleasant, which adds to the aura of calm when you step through the door. Simple but well cooked breakfast on the rooftop terrace is another bonus, as was the comfortable bed.

loved the location of the Riad in the middle of the Medina and the amazing rooftop where we enjoyed the sunshine, the amazing breakfast and the view over the Medina. The staff was lovely and we had a pleasant stay.

The rooms need a bit of love but are perfectly functional. The whole place could be elevated with a bit of a clean and attention de details.

The ladies at reception were very helpful and welcoming. The beautiful breakfast on the rooftop terrace at 9am served by an amazingly efficient young lady. The Riad was about 5m off a major route through the Medina and only 4 mins from the main square. Friendly relaxed environment to meet other guests and share ideas and places to visit. WiFi ok needed to find the best router for signal.

At this price, I would not make negative comments about the basic but clean functional rooms since they were solely for sleeping in.

Its a fine hotel right in the middle of the old city. Its a traditional riad with a balcony in the middle. You can go on the roof terrace and relax when you like. The breakfast was included, it was really nice to have my coffee on the terrace when I woke up! Its quite a basic hotel, but for this value I cannot complain as it was super clean, and they make up the beds every day. The staff are really friendly and kind , and if you need any help with anything they will help . The only thing is if you come, its not sure which room you will get and a couple of the downstairs rooms are quite dark with small windows, so it might be worth checking. I was so happy with the place I will surely come back again.
