We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful Riad in the heart of Essaouira’s bustling medina. It truly felt like a hidden oasis, calm, quiet, and beautifully kept. Youssef went above and beyond to make our stay stress-free. When the ATM in town swallowed our card, he stepped in straight away to help, and we’re so grateful for his kindness. He also arranged early breakfasts for us on two mornings so we could make our travel connections. Nothing was too much trouble. The Riad itself is a gem - tranquil, comfortable, and full of charm. We left feeling looked after, rested, and already planning our return. Highly recommend!

From.the moment I arrived at this hidden little gem everything was wonderful. I was travelling alone for a horse riding holiday and staying outwith before the trek and after here. I was welcomed from the start and absolutely lived my stay. My room was absolutely gorgeous, full of character and added to my Morroccon experience. The Riad is hidden away like most of them but was very easy to find when I found my bearings. The breakfast is were delicious and there was lots of places to sit and chill. The terrace was lovely to watch the sunset. I will 💯 stay here again.

Rooms are beautiful - we particularly liked the shower/bath. Breakfast was generous and set us up for the day well and we liked that you could have it at any time including for our early start on our last day. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The roof terrace was also a lovely place to hang out with the sound of the sea behind and mainly protected from the wind.

There was a fair amount of noise on our first night which was unfortunate as we were very tired from an early start and this did not set us up well for the start of our holiday. I think this was from a noisy set of guests above us who were up late playing music etc but who checked out the next day. Other guests were not noisy. It may be useful to make 10pm to 8am a quiet time.

Had such a comfortable stay at Riad Dar Maya. Super centrally located in the medina, very close to the old town wall. A quiet, calm part of town, at this time of year anyway. Everyone working at the riad was super kind and accommodating. Jacuzzi and rooftop were very luxurious and a delightful place to hang out in the Essauoira sunshine. Room (suite really) was gorgeous. The interiors of the riad were so stylish, clearly developed lovingly by someone with a great eye for design. Then the BREAKFAST - wow. All the stops were pulled out. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Youssef, the Riad Manager was very helpful as soon as we arrived and continued throughout our stay. He was very courteous and gave us suggestions for where to visit when in town. The daily breakfast is also fresh offering different options with plenty of food.

The jacuzzi on the roof is pretty old and it shows its age. It should be cleaned more frequently and if possible the tempurature brought above 35 degrees. As the main amenity for the Riad, it's important this be maintained better for the guests' experience.

After booking the accomodation, the manager offered to pick us up from the bus station or one of the gates to the Medina. However we were not sure of our arrival time so we did not request for this service. We did get a bit lost and couldn't find the Riad at first but the staff were very friendly and came to find us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious. We went earlier than the designated time but the staff were very friendly and agreed to serve breakfast early to us.

The Riad is a little difficult to find in the beginning but the staff are very helpful.

A quiet oasis in the midst of the bustling Essaouira Medina. Very forthcoming, kind, and friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, fantastic amenities, a great rooftop terrace and we loved their included breakfast.

The room and bathroom were very nicely done, felt like a 5* hotel. The bathroom floor heating was amazing, and it felt like our own personal hammam/spa. Staff and breakfast were great. Location was nice and quiet. Beautiful facilities.

The shower easily spilled over the the steps of the bathroom, and the staff started moving our stuff and cleaning for the next guests before we checked out. Makes me wonder if the new guests will have fresh bedding after we needed to use them again upon our return. It was a bit unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Stylish boutique riad, clean, excellent customer service from all staff. Big generous rooms, plentiful breakfast, lovely toiletries etc. Perfect location, calm oasis.

Everything great, no significant complaints at all, will happily return and recommend to friends!! But minor niggles might be that some maintenance aspects need updating now, ie bathroom fan not working , grouting needs refresh and dressing gowns frayed , but the comfort and generosity of amenities and staff far outweigh these minor niggles.

Layout was great, large lounge outside of our large bedroom which had a small balcony and very nice tub. We were allowed to have breakfast where we wanted, the lounge or bedroom or in several different areas in the Road. Apart from the arrival, very helpful and friendly staff.

I think the arrival arrangements could be better organised and perhaps a warning given the fact that there will be unsavoury types trying to confuse you when trying to park your car. We were told that ‘our man’ will meet you but it was actually a man off the street with a case carrier and we had to pay him ourselves, although it was a small charge.
