The stars of our stay are the room itself (Bab Bouljoud Suite) and the staff. The night staff Amir and Achmed were exceptional as are the rest of the front desk. Breakfast in the courtyard garden was very enjoyable, and we arranged through front desk to have a taxi tour (Royal Palace Golden Doors, Tannery, two Panoramic heights, Pottery) and lunch reservations to Ruined Garden. The room had high ceilings and it was like staying in a historic palace, with the intricate tilework and woodwork. There is a living room and bedroom, four poster bed with netting. Window view into the courtyard (partly obstructed by trees, but still pleasant to hear birdsong). The location is excellent, steps away from car dropoff (Meeting Point - Office de Poste in google maps), the Blue Gate (Bab Bouljoud), and the medina. Also close to the newly re-opened Dar Batha Museum of Islamic Arts (beautiful grounds and architecture)

Only downside to the suite: the bath showerhead definitely needs updating, it is ornate, but not enough heat or water pressure, and it leaks. Be careful with the water splashing out. The stairs are part of a historic riad, so you have to be fairly mobile.

Everything in this Riad is authentic : the place has been perfectly restored, the staff is genuinely nice and multilingual , the place is impeccable and very safe. Easy to find. It is like a peaceful oasis in the Medina with a lovely garden and a clean little pool. You wake up to the song of chirping birds and water trickling down from the fountain. The breakfast is delicious, The beds are comfortable. The sitting room , the bedrooms , the garden are decorated with taste. No kitsch here : amazing furniture , lamps, original zellige mosaics ,cedar wood ceilings. column with intricate carvings...Air conditioning, wifi, and TV are integrated to the lot , seamlessly. Highly recommended experience !

Nothing.

Riad Jaouhara was a welcome respite from the busyness of the Fes Medina. Its central courtyard was large with gardens and birds and lots of sunlight. Our room spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Staff were attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. One of the best riads we stayed in during our visit to Morocco. We had originally booked a riad that turned into a scam when they gave us a room we hadn’t booked saying that the room we had booked had an unpleasant smell and they would give us our room the next day. They then proceeded to cancel our reservation. We were lucky to find riad Jaouhara was available and had a wonderful stay.

I spent five wonderful days with my family at Riad Jaouhara, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. The location of the riad is perfect, offering easy access to the heart of Fez while still providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. What truly made our visit special was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure all our needs were met. They can easily help with organising guided tours around Fez. I would highly recommend Riad Jaouhara to anyone visiting Fez – it's truly a gem.

We loved how perfectly located the property was. We were right inside the Medina, but could easily go in and out of the blue gate to access other areas. We also loved how clean and cared for we found the Riad. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well as personable, and we enjoyed talking with them. We will absolutely stay here again, as well as recommend it to anyone we know who will be visiting Fes.

The only downside was that we found the Wi-Fi to be inconsistent.

Beautiful riad and a true oasis in the heart of the medina in Fes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The photos of the Dekkakine Suite do not do the actual room justice. The level of detail in the tiling and carvings were incredible. We enjoyed the lofted bed, spacious bathroom, and the big windows that looked out onto the garden. Breakfast was delicious and each item was brought to us in lovely containers and tajines. After traveling around Morocco for a few a week, we felt like we could spend all day in the serene and lush courtyard.

You have to be let in every time you leave the riad and we felt bad coming home late but we understand that this may be a security measure. We were always let in with a smile though!

Riad Jaouhara was the perfect choice for our first trip to Morocco and Fes. We didn’t realize beforehand that motorized vehicles aren’t allowed in the medina, but luckily, this riad is ideally located just 50 meters from the entrance where cars can access. This made our arrival so much easier as we didn’t have to carry our luggage through the bustling streets. The medina itself is fascinating, though a bit chaotic with its labyrinth of over 9,000 streets. Thankfully, Riad Jaouhara is located near the main street, which made navigating much simpler, and everything we needed was within walking distance. Despite being so close to the hustle and bustle, the riad was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, even arranging our airport shuttle with ease. The rooms and suites are beautifully traditional, providing an authentic Moroccan experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Riad Jaouhara to anyone visiting Fes!

All good :)

I had a great stay in this cozy and well-situated riad. For starters, the staff is extremely welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay at the hotel and in Fes as enjoyable as possible. The location is great, in my opinion, as it's on the edge of the medina so you're only a few steps away from the car roads, which is convenient for arrival with luggage and being picked up for day trips. The rooms are fairly spacious with a nice bathroom, a safe, fridge, a/c, and tv. And a delicious and plentiful breakfast is prepared for you each morning.

Not much. The courtyard has a pool but it doesn't look swimmable and there's a very sad looking elliptical. I wouldn't plan on swimming or exercising while staying here.
