We had an amazing stay at Dar Alif. Staff is very friendly: Philippe, one of the owners, was very welcoming, he offered us tea and explained the key bits of information to navigate Marrakech. The rest of the staff were also nice to us. Khadija prepares a very nice breakfast. The night staff is also very polite and welcoming. Rooms are very clean. The building is beautiful and very typical. They also have a lovely terrace upstairs. Expect a 20min walk if you want to go to the center of the city. All in all walk is pleasant if you take the correct route.

It is extremely tricky to find. If you decide not to take the transport offered by them (around double the taxi price of the hotel) please be advised you’ll struggle a bit. Google maps sends you to the wrong address. Download maps.me which is somewhat closer. If you get lost and ask the locals expect them to ask for a tip. By the time we found it we had an escort of two kids and a guy, which cost us around 70MAD, roughly making the overall trip the same as the initial transport price offered by the riad. Rooms are slightly small and bed is quite short for tall people (I’m 1.87m)

Dar Alif is a beautiful Riad. Clean, well appointed and the staff are very welcoming & pleasant. A tranquil oasis. The rooftop garden is a huge bonus too. Our room was cleaned every day & nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The Riad is 10 minutes walk from the Bahia Palace and the souks - you have to walk through the spice souks to get anywhere which is magical. The Riad is slightly tricky to find - the backstreets of Marrakech are a maze - so we were glad that we’d pre-booked a taxi from the airport via the Riad as a staff member came to collect us from the taxi drop off.

Nothing.

Staff were lovely and so helpful. Place was clean, safe, quiet. Breakfast was lovely on the rooftop. It was central location and easy to find. We parked our car in a recommended car park near by for 50dM a night.

Our roll was the accessible room on ground floor and fine for a family of 4 but the double bed was very uncomfortable (kids beds were fine). Also frustratingly we had a text message from the manager on the afternoon of our last day asking us to get cash to pay for the room as the card machine was broken. We struggled to get out enough (we hit our daily limits on the 2 cards we had) and so at 6am the morning we were leaving my husband had to make another trip to a cash point - it was dark and I was worried. Next time I will pay in advance before we arrive (we were late booking and had to pay on arrival)

We went to Marrakech as strangers and ended up with forever family. This is how the love shown to us by the young owner Bilal and the incredible staff namely the two Khadija's (one being the amazing chef who made both delicious daily breakfasts and tagines) and Hubert made us feel. Our 6 night stay was so wonderful and relaxing as we genuinely felt at home. As Riads go this one is fantastically located. Just ask to be dropped off by the steps just before the Stork Hostel and you'll be there in 2mins. Dar Alif has 6 rooms 2 being suites and all of them with unique characters. We stayed in the African room and it was just beautiful and had a wonderful energy and an amazingly comfortable bed as well as being so clean and having a brilliant en suite shower. Dar Alif is unbelievably quiet and tranquil especially at night considering you're less than a 10 min walk from the hustle and bustle of the main square of the Medina. Staying at this Riad and seeing the great reviews beforehand confirms why this place is so highly thought of. In short myself and my girlfriend have now found our happy place in Marrakech and for that, praise be to the almighty. In short we shall be back. Inshallah. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Everything was amazing.

Loved our stay at Dar Alif. Found it a bit tricky to get to at first and had to ask directions but once we were there after walking along the alleys we came to a big door , once they opened it, wow, plants going up to the rooftops, a pool but most of all the loveliest greeting from Kjjada who is the chef and Hubert who made us tea and gave us some traditional sweets. Hubert also gave us handy advice how to get out of the alley and back to the main areas , left left, right right. Out the alleys you are almost at the Palace and walking distance to everywhere else, we walked everywhere in Marrakesh. Throughout our four day stay Hubert and Khjada were there for us giving advice, getting us a lovely cold beer to drink on the rooftop , serving breakfast and one day it was my birthday and Khjada put an indoor firework on my cake and sung happy birthday, another night we had a lovely meal of chicken couscous cooked by Khajada which I would highly recommend. Also to mention the new owner who was very helpful and friendly during our stay but sorry I forgot his name . Overall our stay at Dar Alif was fantastic and will never forget such amazing beauty , tranquility and friendly staff, I totally recommend staying here and throughout our stay walking in the alleys and around Marrakesh we felt very safe . Thankyou to the staff at Dar Alif for making our stay in Marrakesh so special.

There wasn’t anything to dislike about Dar Alif in all honesty. It was well situated, very well kept and clean, staff couldn’t be more helpful especially Khadija. Very quaint little pool, hidden little rooftops terrace and breakfast/food were exceptional. I will be back, have to take the wife there next time.

Few issues with water in our room as in no water, not sure if to do with the current drought or separate issues. Workmen tried to resolve and ended up being moved rooms and although we had some water it was minimal but to be fair to our hosts they did there best with what was within their control.

Beautiful riad, great roof top and communal area downstairs to enjoy. Nice breakfast - worth paying for it on one of the mornings. Comfy beds. Great person running it. Overall fantastic value for money. It was as good or even better than in the photos.

One of the twin rooms we booked and confirmed via a message had one double bed two friends had to share, there was no alternative available. The location was ok for us, but it was on a bit run down alleyway and while within Medina it was south and a bit far from some places.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Riad Dar Alif in Marrakech. The property is beautifully decorated, offering an authentic Moroccan atmosphere with modern comforts. The rooms were spacious, clean, and elegantly designed, providing a perfect balance of traditional charm and contemporary luxury. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to make sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. They offered helpful local recommendations. The location is excellent – just a short walk from the main attractions of the Medina, yet tucked away in a peaceful corner for a quiet night’s rest. The rooftop terrace was a highlight, with stunning views and a relaxing ambiance. I highly recommend Riad Dar Alif for anyone looking to experience the beauty and hospitality of Marrakech in a serene and stylish setting.

If you're looking for a quiet escape from the busy streets of the Medina but still wanting to be within, Riad Dar Alif is recommended. This Riad is tucked away in a quiet spot but still surrounded by the spice routes of the bustling souks. Within perfect walking distance to many major attractions around including Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. It's about a 15 minute walk to Jemma El Fnaa and it's perfectly safe. The Riad itself is beautiful and luxurious and the service is warm and welcoming. Khadija welcomes you as family and gets you settled in comfortably. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and the rooftop terrace is a perfect warm touch to soak up some sun. Services offered are a massage experience and deliciously cooked meals. This is by far one of the most comfortable stays l've had and will absolutely recommend it. Breakfast is a beautiful addition to your stay at Dar Alif and the warm service from its members. Khadija is really helpful in giving advice to what's around and excursions available. 10/10 for Riad Dar Alif

The Riad was a hidden paradise . Beautiful decor and plants ,the whole place was spotlessly clean . The breakfast was delicious and we ate dinner on the rooftop which was outstanding. All the staff were happy, polite and super helpful,Radjia was not only a wonderful chef but helped with our transport ,trips and recommendations also printing last minute boarding passes. Herbert the night porter and all the other staff whose names I don’t know were lovely . The new owner Bilou ( I think ! ) and his girlfriend welcomed us like family .

Nothing.
