Just an incredible hotel for the price you're paying - excellent central location, beautiful exterior architecture, the most endlessly kind staff from check-in to bellmen to restaurant workers to housekeeping to room service staff, beautifully ornate in-room detailing; and the convenience of souvenir shops that accept credit cards as payment directly within the hotel. I would also like to mention the superior service of Ms. Neha at reception who is endlessly patient, heartwarming, and helpful. No matter day or night, I encountered her knowing I would have all concerns managed, and she never failed to surpass my expectations - thank you for hiring such wonderful staff!

One of the finest hotels in Kathmandu blending tradition and modern architecture. It is located at a 2 minute walk to Durbar Marg, which has various brands shops on both sides, small malls, cafes and restaurants. All major sightseeing locations are either 15 minutes walk away or 15-20 minutes drive. The property has a huge garden, artificial lake, tennis courts and excellent conference facilities. Staff is friendly and helpful, and makes extra efforts to make guests feel at home. The service at breakfast could be improved, though. The hotel has a warm and welcoming vibe to it. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kathmandu.

I like a lot the staff; they are very friendly and ready to help. The food was also very good. I specially like the restaurants that are linked to the hotel. Moreover, it is important to mention that the hotel is very central, and easy access to the main turist attractions.

The hotel is old, and even thought it is clean, it is old. Moreover, the price is higher than other hotels that are at the same level and with similar services in Kathmandu. Because of that, the value for money is not that much. Also, the swimming pool, looks nice but is in the main garden where weddings and other events take place, so in the practice is very uncomfortable to (try) to swim under everyone else eyes.

I decided to stay here for my last night in Nepal on this trip. I've been to Kathmandu many times and was unaware of this hotel until this trip. The history is interesting and the grounds amazing in such a busy city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room design was a lovely mix of heritage and modernity - very comfortable. The breakfast definitely had the best choice I've had in Kathmandu. I opted to dine in the Spice Room and was impressed with the menu options. I would have liked to try The Chimney restaurant too, especially for the historical borsch.

I wish I had a bigger appetite so I could have tried more of the delicious food on offer!

- Breakfast service is a bit patchy . Some days you get service and what you want, others simply not. E.g eggs and coffee with a timing that makes sense.. Overall very nice breakfast room.

We had lovely breakfasts during our stay at Spices and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind. We also enjoyed the dinner at the other outlet. I would say, service wise was excellent.

We stayed during winter (in December) but we didnt understand why the aircond was fixed to a temparature of 24 throughout. It was too warm for us to sleep in. Had to open the windows and requested for a standing fan in the room!

First of all I love the complementary fruits on our room especially the banana and mangoes they are my favorite. The staff was very nice and friendly specially the staff in the Spice room restaurant namely Nirzala, Rikesh, Jessica, Dewan, Rocky, Bhojrah, Sujan and also the staff cleaning to room was very attentive and friendly including guards who are very polite and very helpful. The food in The Spice Room restaurant are really good and what I appreciate most is that I can order my food from both spice room and Chimney restaurant at the same time. The location was good also and the room was always clean.

The room we stayed in was nice and spacious room but the division/elevation between toilet and shower is always a hustle every shower time (morning/evening), no matter how careful and slower the pressure of shower the water still flooding the toilet area which makes you slide sometimes.. and also this makes you need to wet all the towels to dry the area., I would suggest if they cannot put extra elevation they can at least provide floor wiper and extra towel for the floor. Other than that, everything was good.

Amazing hotel with comfortable, majestic rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The hotel grounds is so beautiful. The restaurants are also very good. The spa was clean and good massages, but little noisy so it was difficult to relax and enjoy the session. The location is good and safe, with nearby shops. Overall a great experience.
