A Delightful Stay in the Heart of Kathmandu's Thamel I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in the vibrant neighborhood of Thamel during my visit to Kathmandu, Nepal. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was warmly welcomed by the attentive and friendly staff, setting the tone for a truly enjoyable stay.

Firstly, the Wi-Fi connection in certain areas of the hotel seemed a bit inconsistent. While it didn't hinder my ability to stay connected entirely, there were occasional moments of slower speeds, especially during peak usage times. This could be an area for improvement, especially for guests who rely heavily on a stable internet connection.

The place is clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. The staff were all very friendly especially the restaurant staff who went out of their way to accommodate anything I wanted. The girls and night shift receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. The most surprising thing for me was how good it was and yet the price was very reasonable. I would definitely visit again and also recommend it

The bathroom towels were old and tired 😊. Needs replacing

The staffs were very nice and helpful. The bed was so comfortable and clean. I really need that. My body was aching because of my hiking trip.

One of the nights, i was awaken because somebody was trying to enter my room. I was very scared. That person kept on pulling the door knob. I told the staff the next morning and thank god after that, no one did that. I think something is wrong with the phone because I couldn’t hear when it call the reception

I recently had a wonderful stay at Satkar Hotel and Spa in Thamel, Kathmandu. The hotel's location is excellent, offering easy access to shops and attractions. The staff were friendly and always willing to assist. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and provided stunning city views. The spa facilities were a highlight, providing rejuvenating treatments that left me feeling refreshed. Although the dining options were somewhat limited, there are plenty of alternative choices in the vicinity. Overall, I highly recommend Satkar Hotel and Spa for a memorable stay in Thamel.

Breakfast offered more options than we expected, and was delicious. They accommodated my special request to make the Nepali breakfast not too spicy, and gave me (my request) a whole, unpeeled banana rather than cut fruit. Everything we requested was cheerfully and promptly (and deliciously) provided.

Nothing we didn't like. Everything was perfect. We had a very early arrival and they had the room ready for us; and we had a late departure so they held our luggage for us so we could spend the day sightseeing. They called a taxi for us to take us to the airport. Everything we needed help with, Satkar staff cheerfully and immediately provided. Location of the hotel was central yet very quiet. We would definitely stay there again if ever back in Kathmandu. Many thanks to the friendly and helpful staff!

The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Thamel area, within walking distance of shopping areas, restaurants, bars and other attractions. the staff and the owner of the hotel has been some of the best we have ever experienced. Mr. Manoj - the owner went out of his way to make our stay exceptionally comfortable and accommodating. Starting from recieving us on our day of arrival to helping us with car bookings to Pokhara, recommending places to visit in KTM and ensuring every way possible the overall wellbeing of my family during our stay. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good too. Highly highly recommended - the hospitality and warm behavior from the hotel staff won our hearts!

No major negatives come to mind.

Keeping in mind that this is a budget hotel, it delivered excellent value. Sure, it isn't a five star hotel but the rooms were appointed well. The staff were incredibly helpful, respectful, and kind. Hotel public areas and rooms were clean. Food was good too!

No real complaints. Quibbles -- Mattress was soft for my liking and since the hotel has all hard surfaces, noises carry. Again, this is a budget hotel!
