I have done a lot of traveling, and our suite at the Post Plaza Hotel was the nicest I have ever been in! It was large, well furnished, comfortable and clean. Our grandaghter stayed in a somewhat smaller room which was also very nice. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. Added benefits: It was an easy walk from the train station, even with luggage, and there are good restaurants close by for dinner. I would go back to Leeuwarden just to stay in this hotel!

I thought the breakfast was just so-so, especially for the price. But my husband and grand-daughter liked it.

It is a really lovely hotel. Beautiful building with a great history. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Great staff. It is centrally located, close to the train station, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Very walkable. The hotel has a lovely coffee shop, which also serves breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The quality of the produce was excellent.

Being really picky, it would have been nice to have more control over the temperature of one of our two rooms (the control pad was taped up and so couldn't be altered). However, this did not mar our experience. We would stay again.

Spacious room with a large double bed. Quiet room located next to lift. shower/washroom in a separate room from toilet/WC. Kettle provided for making hot drinks and fridge for storing milk. Not enough tea bags in the room on arrival.

More electric plugs adjacent to desk needed. Had to unplug coffee machine to allow connection of a 4-gang adapter for charging 2 x phones and a night-light. The toilet/WC did not have any hook on the door or towel rail for hanging a towel. The towel; had to be put on a shelf, behind the toilet. Very little fresh vegetables for breakfast, only small tomatoes & cucumber slices. Not much fresh fruit whole fruit, just apples, oranges and kiwis. No sight of a banana, other than at reception. Not enough tea bags in the room on arrival. The air conditioning in the room worked in the cool mode but reception advised that the heat mode was inoperative. This needs to be fixed.

Very friendly service during check-in, breakfast check-in (explaining the buffet), the room itself, very spacious, bedding and a large rain shower is really nice. Also the environment of the bar, restaurant is unique and really interesting. High level of detail provided in everything and a lot of choice during breakfast.

Couple of things: - Breakfast from 10:00 to 11:00 on a Saturday is overcrowded, but especially understaffed. We didn't have a table setup, so just took a table without cutlery etc, that was at least clean. Multiple tables with left overs from other guests were there, and I could really not see traction in those being cleaned. Point of attention for the breakfast manager I would say. - The front door of the hotel is already closed at 11:45 (really early), what follows if you ring the bell is a sort of interrogation by night audit (do you stay at the hotel?, what room are you in? what is your last name?). I do get that these questions would be asked if you were arriving from the bar late night, but not at 11:45.

The property was just slightly away from the centre, so a very short walk from the station and all the tourist sites, shops, bars and restaurants but on a nice quiet street itself. Room was spacious and comfortable, with a brilliant shower. Staff were exceptionally helpful and the restaurant was phenomenal. Not cheap, so not somewhere we could dine every night, but as a final night treat to ourselves it couldn't be beaten.

Literally the only complaint I can think of was the price of the breakfast. It was a very nice breakfast, all local produce and all clearly very fresh, but that doesn't change the fact it was just a buffet. We were sceptical when we saw how much it was that it could possibly be worth that, so only booked for the first morning and then didn't bother again, we were correct that it really wasn't worth the money.

Post-Plaza is clearly a superb hotel, with everything done to the best standard, but it is above all a very individual joint. Brilliant staff and innovative design thinking in the conversion and the fitting out. Food is great. Reminds me strangely of Bogart and Casablanca! Most amazing thing is that it is not much more expensive!

Genuinely hard to find anything to pick on. Things like a dressing robe and a small personalised takeaway memento would be cool additional touches. And the inner courtyard does need a makeover in the same inspired style as the interior.

Perfect location, good size room as well booked the suite for family (actually the suite is for 2 people but can easily fit 3 with extra bed option we chose due to our daughter) which had personal sauna & jacuzzi, staff was very helpful & friendly. Amazing food at the cafe on the menu, we chose breakfast included but was just standard nothing to complain about. The coffee was fantastically delicious, they roast their own beans, we bought some for home as well! The hotel, cafe & room were very clean. Great ambiance at the cafe as well.

Huge hotel and attached restaurant in old post office building - feels like a 4 star hotel as soon as you walk in. Safe bicycle storage in basement room, although a bit of a convoluted route to access. Excellent air conditioning (on when we arrived). Large room (deluxe room). Quiet - did not hear a single noise. Bed was very comfortable. Refrigerator and large safe in room. Friendly helpful reception staff. Lovely garden courtyard bar cafe area behind the hotel. Pieces of fruit on offer at reception.

Our room had large windows but no outlook - just a utilitarian courtyard.

We loved this hotel! It was beautifully designed, comfortable and in a great location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well here. The breakfast was an additional cost, but definitely worth it. The fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh bread were highlights. They have a room off the receptions with a fireplace and games that we enjoyed visiting. The hotel was quiet and we didn't hear other travelers when in our rooms. The location was perfect with so many choices of things to do (museums, shopping, restaurants!) and see right outside the door. You didn't have to ever drive anywhere. I am already thinking about returning here and bringing friends.

The hotel doesn't offer parking but did send us to an underground parking lot that was a 5 minute walk. This is fine is summer, but a little unpleasant in cold rainy weather. The parking lot only cost 10 Euros per day, so it was a great option.

An amazing hotel for a great experience of the city. Great location within walking distance of wherever you'd want to go in the city. Lovely street and old historical building. Room was very comfortable, with great facilities. Ajustable air con was a god send for a warm humid summer day. Staff were incredibly helpful and had solutions for my questions such as parking in town for duration of my stay. Would absolutely stay here again.
