Spacious and quiet with a very comfortable bed. The welcome was lovely with my late night arrival, bedside light on and the room warm. Little touches of fresh flowers were delightful. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

The cafe over the road doesn't open until 8am, and then closed at 2pm, so I missed my early morning coffee. It was unseasonably cold, and an electric blanket would have been nice, but the warm blanket in the cupboard was more than adequate.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which was especially appreciated since we arrived late. They made us feel welcome and their hospitality set the tone for a relaxing stay. The spacious rooms that are fully equipped with everything you might need, including a kitchen and a private outdoor area were the perfect setup for relaxing in the comfort of our own space. A variety of food trucks come on-site throughout the week. Which was a convenient way to try different cuisines without having to travel far. Plus, there’s a vegan cafe just across the street, which was perfect for morning coffee and acai bowls. Overall, I recommend Ocean Beach Motel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with great amenities and a friendly atmosphere.

Friendly Staff, great location, just a short stroll to the beach! City is only a few minutes drive away. Facilities were clean and beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning worked a treat in the 33deg heat outside. Just a friendly reminder for all that do stay, Wainui beach isn't on town supply water, so rainwater and water trucks are what most places have. So please don't waste the water down the sink and complain that the water pressure isn't peeling the skin off your back in the shower. 😀

Location was fine as I was heading up the coast.room was really clean and everything worked but windows need new seals and bathroom area needs updating.

Blown away with accommodation as we were only needing for a night to attend a funeral the following day. Our room was huge and catered for our needs. Extra bonus having a restaurant on site. Reception staff so welcoming and I appreciated the text message to ask what time I was checking in. The day went by so fast I forgot to look at my watch and lost track of time. Ngā mihinui

I liked the room - I have stayed there before.

Their dog running wild - should not have been on the property where the patrons stayed. I have been bitten seriously by a dog and didn't think they considered, that not all people are keen on dogs. Also the fact that they do not provide fruit like tinned peaches or apricots with the cornflakes for a continental breakfast? That they do not provide air con - really hot in the summer at Wainui Beach and a ceiling fan is not suitable.

The space was nice and large, with comfortable couches and bedding, plus a heat pump in the living area. Walking distance to Wainui beach, and a great Mexican restaurant next door. There is also a vegan cafe across the road. Fully stocked kitchen, and coin operated laundromat on premises.

A lovely host, a restaurant on site, a little cafe across the road with a wonderful vibe. Greenspace behind the units, good off street parking make it a great place close to town, but not right in town.

A little road noise is to be expected being close to the main road in, but that's it.

I liked everything about Ocean Beach Motel and I especially loved the staff who looked after me. So very friendly and nothing was any trouble. Everytime In the future when I come to Gisborne I will definitely be booking my stay with this motel

A rail on the side of the steps for us old ppl would be great. Apart from that everything else was fabulous

Beautiful place to stay only downside was no aircon clean rooms comfortable bed and loved the outside area and privacy

No aircon or even a fan in the middle of summer, wasn't stipulated on the website when we booked that there was no air-conditioning in the room apart from that was not too bad the spa jets didn't work so kind of felt a bit ripped to be honest as the spa was a big sell for us booking our stay there.
