The hostel is very conveniently placed, near the river, in a very quiet part of the city. As for the price, it was half of the price of a hotel room downtown. The accommodation provides a kitchen, shower, shared (but very clean) bathrooms. It has even a cosy place to take dinner. Its within walking distance from the center of the town, 20 minutes walk from the pedestrian street. The hostel has a restaurant and a coffee shop. Nearby there are two supermarket and a bakery shop. I highly recommend this place, it was very nice to spend three nights here. The surroundings are quiet, you can hear only the seagulls arguing. My room (at the first floor) had a very nice view on the marina.

Everything was just like I expected to be.

This place is lovely! I was a bit afraid of how my family members would feel about a shared toilet but it was really ok and Magasinet turned out to be our favourite sleeping place on our roadtrip. It was also the cheapest! Great location and we liked the atmosphere of the brick house and the island too.

Fantastic location in a very beautiful part of the city (on a small island). Just next to wonderful parks (great for our football-loving family), water, wooden-boat-harbour and -workshop and the "Chapel of Hope" and Fredrikstad museum, just amazing. In the midst of great green areas and old fortification buildings and other ancient buildings (the particular building we stayed in was built in to a great stone wall. Wonderful walks, views, close to free city ferry (electrical and free - how great isn't that!! Take a tour through the whole city in which the river flows). Our family appreciates shared kitchen facilities and the dining area was beautiful. Note that you share bathroom with others (very good shower!!). Some negative aspect may be that the windows in our room could not be closed =), but since it was summer we needed it open anyway. BUT - be prepared to suffer some noise if the very large wooden tables outside get occupied with local youth in the summer evenings.

Building interior needs renovation. Both necessary things such as windows and doors, but also interior decoration.

Exceptional location and very nice spacious rooms.

The only downside about the facilty is the shared bathroom/toilet which is a bit challeging during the night :)

Incredible location just full of rich and beautiful history!

It is a beautiful and quiet location but still very central and easy to get around especially with the free local ferry.

It is on a lovely island with good ferry connection and short walk over bridge if you're out late. The dining room and kitchen is large and cosy. Will definitely recommend this place and will definitely return!

It was a very sweet place to be at.

I would have liked to get the information on how to enter via email instead of SMS. I needed to download the SMS so I didn't get the text until I was told I got one and had to search for it. I didn't find any WiFi even though the website said it would be available. Also I didn't find a kitchen to prepare any food, not even a water cooker. I tried to contact the given number again to ask about these things but didn't get any reply.

Fun to be staying in a part of the historic Isegrann fortress in Fredrikstad.
