The hotel itself is beautiful, the pool is lovely, the gym was great and the staff at the gym was wonderful as well. I loved the tea cafe and the food was really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room service was excellent. WiFi worked great as well. I'd definitely stay here again!

The only downside is the rooms they're quite dated. They were comfortable enough, just looked like the carpet, curtains, dirty wallpaper, hadn't been updated in 30 years. It's quite a contrast from the modern, beautiful, comfortable common areas of the hotel.

We spend one month last year at Al Falaj Hotel. We come back this year for a second month and it was really perfect, as in 2024. Al Falaj is a hight quality hotel : room, bedding, property, room service, INTERNET connection for working. location, meals, quietness... etc. The hearth of Al Falaj is his staff : since 2025, we know now several employees and they are really nice, as in fact the people of Oman : staff at reception (James...), staff for meals (Austin, chief "Pondichery", miss Lon Tine or Beth, or Anu or Umar). We cannot have a mention for all of them but they are always caring. We have regularly stays in same level hotels, in other countries, and, with this experiment, Al Falaj is really the best. For us it was a particular month.

Nothing really.

Everything was great. Good value for money. Room size ok for one person, airco works fine, gym was alright. It was clean and I felt safe (with two locks in the room). I didn't use outside pool. Restaurants in the hotel on the 8th floor are nice but on a pricey side (tokyo taro + pub).

Lady at the sauna/jacuzzi place rejected me saying its for men only. Taxi infront or the hotel was very expensive, if you're using the taxi app (and you should! Otaxi) you have to select pick up point outside the hotel grounds to see cheaper/economic options.

The staff were all excellent. We received great personal service all round. We were particularly impressed by the service at the pool - we were given ice towels on arrival at the pool - then free water in an iced cool box. After a couple of hours we were given fresh fruit. Amazing. We went on a dolphin trip arranged by the hotel Which included complementary transport. We are in the restaurant and in the sports bar. There was also an 8th floor bar where we enjoyed a drink which had great views. Overall excellent

A la carte dinner service a bit slow - but food was excellent when it came. Did not seem to be much in the local area.

Hotel in a great location near the souq, the opera house, the corniche, the sultan's palace. Clean room and very comfortable extra king size bed. Modern and clean bathroom. Rich breakfast both sweet and savory

There is a swimming pool in the hotel. The day before it rained and the pool was closed because it had dirty water and they told me it was being cleaned. No one did anything and the pool remained closed for both days I stayed and I don't know for how many more after my departure. From a 4-star hotel I would expect promptness in restoring the pool considering that I, like I think other people, booked in that hotel also for the pool

Very helpful stuff, nice rooms with comfy big beds. We enjoyed our stay and can definitely recommend this hotel

After we got our room, a group of teenage girls was allocated in rooms around us. As one could expect there were loud and didn't react nor to our or stuff requests to be more respectful to other occupants of the rooms. In consequence in the middle of the night we had to change the room. I think the decision about room allocation could be better. On the upside, there were zero problems getting the other room.

I had a good feeling from the moment I arrived. I was very tired after a long overnight flight so it was much appreciated that I was allowed to check in early. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not large, but had a nice view and the bed was so soft and comfortable. The bar on the top floor was relaxing with a nice view and friendly bar staff . Breakfast buffet had a good choice and you can sit inside or outside. The hotel is quite old so it may not be to everyone's taste, but I really enjoyed my stay here thanks to the lovely staff and the good facilities.

They have charged extra for toothbrush and tooth paste which should be provided by the hotel complimentary.

As ever, the food at Al Falaj hotel was very good. I ate breakfast and my lunch every day at the hotel buffet, and there was a variety of choices for a non-meat eater. I also had a late evening flight to catch and was allowed to stay on site until I was ready to leave, which was really helpful. I will defeinetly be returning to the hotel again for another stay next year.

My airport shuttle service didn't turn up, and I felt that I had to arrange it all with the driver, rather than it be arranged by reception staff as previously booked last year. It was also a shame that 'Fish Night' and certain tours were no longer available. I didn't have a guide, so I relied on making visits I'd made last year to keep me occupied. Lastly, the taxi charges from the hotel were exceptionally high. it's better to see if you can catch a local taxi or use the bus services, which can take much longer to arrive at destinations. Overall, I was pleased with my stay and was upgraded to a better room.

Location: quiet, within easy reach of the Muttrah attractions, local eateries, and a supermarket just down the road. Staff: bent over backwards to make sure we got a wonderful room with a balcony and view when the bathroom in our first room was problematic. Breakfast variety and quality are outstanding!

Our first bathroom had a smell from the drainage. No issues with the second. Windows couldn’t open in the first room but this is typical of hotels here.
