- Beautiful gardens and nice environment - Nice view on the surrounding mountains - Good breakfast - nice selection - Great location - outside city center, quiet but still easy to reach - Great on-site restaurant - you should try at least one of the nights you are there. AND: Valle is generally gorgeous. The trails are magnificient.

Everything with the accommodation was great. - A word of warning: It is typically said that the tap water in Panama is safe to drink. This might be the case for locals whose digestive system is adapted to the local water. However, I followed the advise and "paid" with tummy problems for the last 5 days of my stay. If you come from outside Panama, don't risk it and drink only bottled water.

I think the property is beautiful. The climb is rocky, but sedans go up. They give you a very nice welcome cocktail. Despite being remote, it has everything: table games, billiards, a pool, a TV, and pets around. In the mornings we have a super breakfast. The occasional dog or cat can keep you company while you eat, but they're SUPER clean and have little collars that say they're the hosts of the place. The bathrooms and surroundings are adorable.

The pool, despite being beautiful, is freezing. They have to vary the food they sell; they lean heavily toward Mexican or very spicy food. And in my opinion, Mexican food like tacos isn't food; it's like snacks.

Golden Frog is set on the edge of a volcano crater, higher than the rest of the town, so you really get a sense of being up in the clouds. Watching the clouds rolling over the tops of the nearby ridges was mesmerizing. Its a small property and never felt crowded, even when the patio restaurant filled up. We had a garden view room with our own patio with table and chairs and hammmock. Decent sized room with a huge bathroom. Lush landscaping feels like being in a giant terrarium, but blocks some of the views, but you still get nice sunsets. We were hiking and ebiking and knew we would get killer views from trails, so didn't choose a "pool view" room. We realized when we got there that "pool view" rooms must the upper story units, which must have incredible views across the valley, with a pool, too if you look down. If you aren't going to be treking, you might want to splurge. Food and drinks were mostly good to excellent, except one tough steak. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Laundry service was cheap and efficient. The pool is cool and refreshing, the pool table free and not a bit level, but fun. Its a fifteen minute walk downhill to the edge of town, and ebike rentals, or they'll call a taxi for you. Friendly dogs visit you in the restaurant and lounge!

Absolutely stunning views. It's like being in paradise! You'll find yourself immersed in pure greenery surrounded by a never-ending symphony of birds singing in the background. The furry hosts (two dogs and a cat) were a plus! Everything is clean, beautiful and makes you feel like you are in heaven. The breakfast was very yummy too! Our room has a very private and big terrace with a table, two comfy rocking chairs and a hammock. The bed was extremely comfortable and there's a fan in the ceiling in case it gets hot (we didn't use it.)

My only two suggestions would be to hang a mirror in the bedroom (there's only one in the bathroom) and to hang the hairdryer on the wall, it was quite uncomfortable to use.

Was recommended by a friend, who had stayed at the hotel few years ago and said it is lovely. The Golden Frog Inn is a beautiful place, and has warm hearted, polite personnel. Everything at the property is super well kept and garden has beautiful flowers and plants. Stayed at the room #5 which was super peaceful, and had a terrace with hammock and rocking chairs towards facing the nature. The cleanliness was outstanding. Fresh water was brought to room daily, and the room had a small coffeemaker with amazing coffee!

it was pretty relaxing, lots of plants and trees. I loved playing pool after dinner and sometimes after breakfast. Staff was really nice and attentive. I really needed to have some rest from work and I got it. The restaurant food was good, but I loved the desserts...I can't recall its name, it was mexican, it had a bit of lemon and it was so good...

Chitras or mosquito, as it is not a cold area and there are some fountains and water around very humid plus a lot of vegetation, obviously you need to bring something like Citronela or Off or anything that can help you shush them...specially during dinner.

Wonderful environment, very tranquil. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was a 2-bedroom and it was very spacious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Will call a taxi for you and answer any questions about area attractions. The breakfast was outstanding with a nice variety of self-serve items and you can order off the menu as well. We had dinner at their restaurant a couple of times and the food was excellent. I loved the birria tacos and even the nachos were next level. Didn't have a chance to use the pool but it was crystal clear. I would absolutely stay here again!

This isn't a criticism it's just more of an FYI. It's on the edge of town and over a mile from the central market area and so it's probably best to use a taxi or private transport unless you're a highly-motivated walker. But on the other hand, the fact that it's on the edge of town also helps give the hotel its appeal. It feels like it's out in the country a bit and that just adds to its peacefulness.

Large and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great location (slightly uphill, with great nature and mountain views). Swimming pool surrounded by colorful plants and flowers. Colibris right in front of our door. We really enjoyed our stay here ! The restaurant is fine overall, some dishes are very good, some are just OK. For breakfast we really enjoyed the pancakes!

We felt that cocktails can be improved : Pina colada was OK but our mojitos only tasted like very concentrated lemon juice. Other than that, ten out of ten !

Beautiful location, nice building with a pool. Staff were excellent and the breakfasts were varied and good food. The coffee was excellent, even in your room. If you stick to the more traditional dinner selections the food was good. A few nice hikes in the area.

I had a steak the first night and it was really tough. My wife had the chicken and it was overcooked and very dry. We rented bikes one day and the chain on mine kept falling off, major pain in the butt.

The property is gorgeous. Loved the garden and the views. The room (#6) was spacious, modern and comfortable. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant multiple times. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the convenience of the laundry service too.

Our room (#6) was right next to the restaurant so privacy was somewhat limited. Our chairs in outdoor sitting area were very uncomfortable. The pool table has seen better days.
