Location a bit far from restaurants . But we like to walk so that was ok for us .

Great view of the mountain in front of our balcony, staff were nice, the atmosphere were great, breakfast were included, scenery were fantastic, room view excellent, family room was roomy for 5, eating area is right beside our accommodation. Restaurant has excellent scenery. Walking to town was scenic by the beach, a few eateries along the way and cheaper than the main area, a complimentary tuk tuk is provided during certain hours

Getting there was inconvenient, walking to and from was a bit far from the main town especially if you have mobility issues. Tuk tuk can only drive to a certain spot to pick you up or drop you off if it is high tide.

The most amazing view from the hotel rooms! This is the perfect place to unwind and base yourself for your stay in El Nido. The bar makes great cocktails, the service is unfussy and friendly, you'll feel like part of the family. The room was spacious and super clean.

One of our group had mobility issues and found the distance from the main part of El Nido and the stairs to the room a challenge. The property would be improved by having a pool - although I realise these are rare in Palawan. The water in front of the property is shallow so isn't great for swimming as such.

The views are beautiful. Our room was right at the beach front and the accommodation is quiet, calm and relaxing. The cleaning team were excellent and were so kind to help us out when our young daughter became sick. Thank you!!! The team working in the bar/restaurant were polite and helpful. We had issues with our air con but they fit a new unit after 24 hours. We used the free tuktuks to Town Square a few times which was really useful. The nearby street has shops and laundry services.

Some of the furniture needs replacing but we loved this place so much. Highly recommend!

Nice place to stay, outside of the busy touristy El Nido but with trycicle to take you there for free. El Nido is definitely not a must to visit, but Golden Monkey was a nice play to stay after our sailing trip. Relaxing bar with amazing sunset and view! Massages can be arranged in the room which are great! Definitely a good place to stay!

El Nido is overrated, you need to be very careful with use of water and what you eat in the area! The hotel was no issue though, purified water was provided by the hotel. Beach is a little messy.

The location was amazing, you wake up with the ocean on your doorstep , you can hear the waves at night and make soothing sound . The sunset is absolutely amazing. You don’t have to go anywhere to get the best view of sunset . The dining room is facing the beach which adds to the experience The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much, especially Ann who attended to all our needs. and July on reception . Will come back again and recommend to friends .

Maybe the distance from town proper, it’s only 10 mins walk though they have tricycle service that takes you to town but not always available .. but then again it’s the price for having a beach front hotel I guess The facilities could do with a facelift as seen better days especially the toilet /shower

We stayed in a room with a sea front view and it was a truly relaxing experience, you can here the waves as you go to sleep and first thing when you wake up in the morning. We spent our evenings chilling on the balcony watching the sunsets. The breakfast was included which is always a bonus and it was a really lovely breakfast as well and very filling and the breakfast venue had a lovely view of the mountain and beach which we could also see from our balcony. Breakfast was also until 10 so you can have a nice lie in if needed. They also offers a free tuk tuk service till midday and then from 4pm-6am which is great as it is a little walk away from the main town. But a nice walk down the beachfront if you cant get the tuk tuk so we personally only used it in the evenings but it is a great addition that they offer. The staff were all lovely and you can book so many things through the hotel like mopeds, boat tours, massages in the room, your bus if you are going to Puerto Princessa and many other things.

Honestly nothing. It was a perfect stay and great value for money. If I am being very very picky there was a hanging chair on our balcony which looked lovely but it was very uncomfortable but there were some many places to lie and sit on the balcony that it didn't matter at all.

Great location, 15 minute walk to Townsquare which had lots of restaurants with the hotel offering a free shuttle to Townsquare if you don’t feel like walking. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. If you can, try book a room with aircon as there is only a ceiling fan and rooms get quite hot during the day. Restaurant staff were very nice and breakfast included was a convenient addition especially if you had tours starting early in the morning. Reception staff were also great and accomodating, even answering our messages at 1am! The view onto the beach is gorgeous and you can walk right onto the beach from the hotel.

View is spectacular from our room of the water and islands in the distance. Breakfast was yum and lunch and dinner meals were exceptional. They organised the boat tours for us when we arrived, and the tours were great! The day bed on the balcony is really comfy to lie in while looking at the view. Anna the receptionist was extremely helpful during our whole stay. We will recommend Golden Monkey to our friends.

Air con cuts out most evenings between 4pm and 9pm, but I think that happens for the whole of El Nido. There's a good fan in the room that still works. The hotel is out of town, but we either walked along the shore to town at low tide, or the hotel has a free tricycle service. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. The peace and quiet of the location is worth the distance.

It was a lived in type of hotel. Authentic and the ambience has beautifully matured over the years, like a fine and well structured wine The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for and you always felt that you were the most important guest there. The free shuttle service to and from the town square was great, meaning I could enjoy the fine offerings of El Nido and not worry how I would get back to my hotel It's romantic and a great place to take the special person in your life for some couple time. The restaurant has a nicely balanced menu and given it location I felt the prices were fair and the food was really good. Thank to the fabulous staff at the Golden Monkey, thank you for making my stay perfect and memorable for all of he right reasons. .
