Location a bit far from restaurants . But we like to walk so that was ok for us .

View is spectacular from our room of the water and islands in the distance. Breakfast was yum and lunch and dinner meals were exceptional. They organised the boat tours for us when we arrived, and the tours were great! The day bed on the balcony is really comfy to lie in while looking at the view. Anna the receptionist was extremely helpful during our whole stay. We will recommend Golden Monkey to our friends.

Air con cuts out most evenings between 4pm and 9pm, but I think that happens for the whole of El Nido. There's a good fan in the room that still works. The hotel is out of town, but we either walked along the shore to town at low tide, or the hotel has a free tricycle service. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. The peace and quiet of the location is worth the distance.

Great location, 15 minute walk to Townsquare which had lots of restaurants with the hotel offering a free shuttle to Townsquare if you don’t feel like walking. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. If you can, try book a room with aircon as there is only a ceiling fan and rooms get quite hot during the day. Restaurant staff were very nice and breakfast included was a convenient addition especially if you had tours starting early in the morning. Reception staff were also great and accomodating, even answering our messages at 1am! The view onto the beach is gorgeous and you can walk right onto the beach from the hotel.

It was a lived in type of hotel. Authentic and the ambience has beautifully matured over the years, like a fine and well structured wine The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for and you always felt that you were the most important guest there. The free shuttle service to and from the town square was great, meaning I could enjoy the fine offerings of El Nido and not worry how I would get back to my hotel It's romantic and a great place to take the special person in your life for some couple time. The restaurant has a nicely balanced menu and given it location I felt the prices were fair and the food was really good. Thank to the fabulous staff at the Golden Monkey, thank you for making my stay perfect and memorable for all of he right reasons. .

That I had to leave abs come home

I enjoyed my stay (to relax and be away from the hustle/bustle of town/activities). I booked a sea view room (given no 2) and it was comfortable, spacious and the view was great. The property is about 15 mins walk to main square. You have the option to take the trike service (free of charge) if wanted. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming and they were able to help book day trips if wanted. The bar/restaurant is not a bad addition; however, the food/menu selection is sparse.

Unfortunately, I don’t find the location a good access for swimming as the water is a bit murky when the tide is up and also the sand is not as white as other beaches in El Nido. But it is a great place to relax by the water. Unlike other sea view room, there no quick access into the chair lounge. There should be a gate by the balcony rail for an easy access. Unfortunately, I had to walk around to the bar to access the chair lounge. In addition, a curtain between shower and the toilet bowl can help minimize water mess.

The Hotel is beautifully located at a more quite beach close to El Nido town with the most amazing sunsets directly in front of you. Definitely invest in some of the beach front bungalows it is definitely worth it to see the sunset every day from your veranda. Rooms a generally clean and the AC does its job.

Rooms definitely getting old and service could be improved. The girl working at reception in morning was amazing and did the best job with helping us in every way. But the guy who comes in the afternoon was really lacking motivation and couldn't help us with the most basic questions. Maybe it was the language barrier or he is too shy.

The view is beautiful and the place is quiet and calming.

Termites in all rooms.

The hotel is situated far from the busy town center and is really cosy. The staff are very helpful. There is a free tuk-tuk service from the hotel to the town center, which is available when it is dark. If you want to go to other near areas, you can also use their private tuk-tuk at extra charge. It is very convenient l, as you message them on WhatsApp and the guy appears quickly. The breakfast is quite nice and the restaurant faces the see. (The pancakes are amazing) We got a AC room with seaview. The scenery is stunning.

We came in October and there some storms, so it was quite noisy in the room. Also, it is a bit dark in the room, but since the view outside is amazing, you can live with that.

Breakfast can use variety and more healthy servings of the protein. Location is great, the road going there needs improvement though.

Staff service needs and communication needs improvement. Staff needs to provide information about van transfer to guests prior to the trip for safety concerns. No advance information was provided and even when questions about van information were asked, the staff was still unresponsive. The transport service needs to be transparent about the waiting time of guests. Also, hotel needs to be wary about giving out personal information of hotel guests to third party service providers for data privacy concerns. Guests were not informed that personal information will be given to the van transport.

Breakfast was great! Fresh fruit, as expected. Unexpectedly good was the bacon, which I'm guessing is local. Balcony with ocean view was perfect for coffee. Nice to be able to walk in the morning tidal pools. Location was a perfect compromise. It's close enough to get the benefits of Towne Square, but far away enough so that it was quiet. Hotel provides a free shuttle, but we walked more often than not. Bonus, a very good bar was located nearby without the walk to Towne Sq. Big room, comfy bed. All great!
