Location. Our room attendant, housekeeping was great.

Some front desk staff. During check in I was initially asked for a 6k PHP deposit in cash (which we were not made aware of during booking) but told the staff my husband will give the deposit once he returns from parking our car. When my husband went to reception, he was told by another front desk staff that we had to provide 15k PHP deposit in cash only. This was absurd and told them he was informed it was only 6k. The other staff I spoke to then intervened and settled the issue. To the hotel management, you’ve got a nice hotel and some great staff but please kindly ensure you inform your guests beforehand, during reservations, that you require a cash deposit of a certain amount.

The staff were very courteous, kind and friendly. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite from our original booking of 1 bedroom. The suite was clean, well equipped, spacious and roomy. The AC's were super cold, the beds were very comfortable, the ambiance is peaceful and quiet. The buffet breakfast was superb and delicious, we got truly pampered and looked after very well from the very moment we walked in and directed to our table. The staff are well trained to look after their guests and were always checking if the service was satisfactory. The complimentary shuttle bus service was a bonus that takes you to Megamall and Shangri-La Plaza.

The location was a bit of a walking distance to the nearest mall which is Estancia. Good marketing in providing a shuttle bus service to the 2 big malls.

The hotel overall is clean. Most of the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff are the best. From the porters/guards like Richard and Gerard whom my husband befriended to head waiters like Ador (the best), Jinkie and Berlie. The hotel offers a buffet meal and have a good selection. The hotel also offer shuttle service to Megamall and Shangri-la mall.

Food in the buffet area aren't hot enough and a bit salty. The hotel underwent a yearly maintenance overnight when we were there and they moved a lot of the guests to a nearby hotel. The said hotel was clean but the room is tiny, the bed is clean, but we can hear the traffic all night from the 8th floor.

The room surprised me as it had its own kitchen, dining table for 4, living area aside from the bedroom (separated by a door) with its own full bathroom and tub. I never even had the same luxury when I stay at Edsa Shangrila Plaza which is a 5 star hotel. The kitchen comes with its own induction cooker and microwave as well as a full-sized refrigerator. There were three free oranges on check in and this a welcome treat. There were 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water which is much appreciated. The desk with a lamp in the bedroom came in very handy as I had to do a lot of computer work before leaving to attend my conference. The toiletries were sufficient. The room came with a safe and there were two complimentary slippers. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved it that guests with their own cars were assigned a specific parking slot. At other 5 star hotels it is actually every man for himself.

I noticed that whoever cleaned the rooms-I was in 1107- did not sweep the floor of the main bedroom as I discovered the same piece of string under the desk on the afternoon of the following day that I had accidentally dropped the night before. I also noticed that the floor remained dusty.

This was our 2nd 2023 & 2024year of stay in Astoria (Ortigas). We stayed in a suite 2 bedroom and 2 bath. The unit is spacious and well kept. They are not very strict as to the number of occupants in the suite room (not sure about the other types of unit). The best that I like is that when you request for something to be delivered or any request you made, the front desk will calll to confirm if you have received or completed our request. The housekeepers are very polite and kept our unit clean and tidy. The front desk are very respetful and made sure that our requests were attended. The Astoria Cafe staff are very approachable. Special shout out to Berline (one of the supervisors) who made sure that our request for food delivery in our room was accommdated. We have a family member who is diabetic and a kidney transplant patient. We requested to have a meal that is not very sweet and not too salty. It was delivered every breakfast only and it had good choices of food.

The only thing that we did not like and I mentioned this during our first year of stay. This is for a 2 bedroom and bathroom unit. Their bathroom has a bathtub type. It has very high step that if you have leg issues, it is not safe. Their shower has half-covered glass. If you are the type the splashes water, it is not safe because water sprinkles on the floor. You got to be very careful as it maf cause "slip and fall". Hopefully, they do something about it.

My 2nd stay with Astoria and I am pleased to say the service of the staff in top notch, - attentive and professional. We loved our room, fully equipped with kitchen, dining and living room furnitures and fixtures. Room is spacious. It has alot of storage cabinets-perfect  to be organized for a long stay and families. Beds were comfy and clean.  They have smart televisions in the living room and bedroom, with access to Netflix, YouTube, Disney Plus and Amazon (quite impressive). They accommodated my request for a room with a standing bathroom shower which we prefer for convenience. Plenty of electrical outlets. The breakfast buffet was our favorite. They have plenty of options for everyone.  Special mention to Ador, Jinky, Berlie and  John Mark for the consistent great service from day one until our 6th day. I have to mention that it is the only hotel we've booked so far that had water filter in the room and huge clean refrigerator. This is rare in the Philippines.

The lobby is small and can get pretty crowded. The room needs a bit of  maintenance. Fixtures are old and unsteady like bathroom lights and mirrors. The shower gets too wet, flooding while showering. There is not much view to see when opening a windows.

Astoria’s location is very convenient as it’s very close to the major shopping centers like mega mall and Shangri-La plaza. It’s also just about 10 To 15 mins to the major business center in Mandaluyong area. The staff from the concierge, reception, housekeeping team, even the I.T team are very helpful and polite. The Astoria cafe where I had my breakfast had very good variety of options from continental to traditional Filipino dishes. The staff members are very attentive as well. I truly enjoyed my stay there and will definitely return again on my next visit to Manila. You get an excellent value for your money for a 4* hotel.

The interior of the building is quite old, the neighboring areas appears crowded and not so clean. One of the elevators makes a really loud noise so it’s disturbing if your room is next to it.

My recent stay at Astoria Plaza Hotel was absolutely exceptional. Upon arrival, the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. the front desk staff were very helpful, professional and polite. My room (suite room) was spotless, spacious, and well-maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. I appreciate the strong and reliable Wi-Fi and the clean bathroom. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a wide array of delicious local and international options. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, consider staying here again.
