Peter is so nice and really friendly! We enjoyed the quiet of the resort and loved having the big pool to relax in. The breakfast was cooked fresher for you every day when you wanted it and Peter was always around to help you if you needed. The rooms are big and well air conditioned. You definitely need a moped to get around but there is quite a lot of good food places available.

When we first pulled up, we are a bit skeptical as it seemed like a bit of a nothing area BUT as soon as you are inside you realize how nice the place is and it’s actually nice to be out of the busy area at Alona beach.

Higala Resort is an absolute gem in Panglao – peaceful, beautifully maintained, and run with so much love and care. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and have everything you need for a relaxing stay. The real highlight, are the hosts: Peter and his wife Anna are simply amazing – warm, helpful, and always ready with great tips for your stay. You immediately feel at home. And of course, Nero the lovely dog adds even more charm to the place! We also really appreciated the super convenient scooter rental directly through the hotel – the perfect way to explore the island on your own. The pool area is great for relaxing, breakfast is tasty, and the overall vibe is calm and welcoming. You can really tell that everything is done with passion and care. We’ll definitely be back – highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, style, and genuine hospitality!

The owner and his team were super friendly and helpful. They helped us with everything, from renting a scooter to organisation of island hoping trip. You can ask them about everything and always get useful advices and tips about places to go, food etc. Rooms were clean, swimming pool is sufficient, breakfasts were homemade and delicious. In whole accommodation there is a calm and family atmosphere, you can relax there after an adventurous day in Bohol. It is perfect place, because from there everything is in 15 minutes scooter ride. We would love to come back there another time.

Room was clean and comfortably large. Hotel is quiet, no road noise. Breakfast was good. Owners are friendly and on site everyday to address any issues and provide tour advice. I am not normally like dogs at a resort as they are often noisy or bothersome, but this owner's dog, Nero, is an excellent asset to the resort. The dog is quiet, calm, and quiet endearingly friendly while providing security at night. Pool is excellent, clear and clean as is the rest of the resort. Bonus has a great gym located next to the resort, about 100 php per day. Owners provided us with extra pillows and an extra sheet and are very attentive. Motorbike rental recommended for local transportation and available 50 meters up the road.

Wifi in the room is weak and/or intermittent at best, not really usable. We relied on cell phone and our cell phone hot spot. Wifi was acceptable in the lobby/breakfast area, but not in the room. Bedding is sheets only.

We spent 3 unforgettable nights at Peter and Ana’s guesthouse, and the experience exceeded all our expectations! Staying with them feels like visiting friends abroad—they do everything to make you feel at home. The room is surprisingly spacious, much larger than the usual standards in the Philippines, and equipped with everything you need: a comfortable bed, a nice shower, and a cozy veranda to relax. The pool is large and inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim. Breakfast in the morning is truly delicious, and there’s also a fridge where you can buy beers and soft drinks. You can rent excellent scooters on-site, which allowed us to explore the famous Chocolate Hills and visit the nearby Tarsiers. I also have to mention Nero, the sweetest dog in the world, who made our stay even more special. And of course, Peter deserves a big shoutout—he is a fantastic host, with whom we had a great conversation, and he even took us to Alona Beach. Personally, this is exactly why I prefer guesthouses like this over resorts or big hotels. An authentic and warm experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a home away from home!

We got a lot of rain during our stay, but luckily, we had a great place to relax. A cozy and comfortable spot, perfect for enjoying some peace even in bad weather!

Staying here was such a wonderful experience! The vibe is amazing and makes you feel right at home. The owner was incredibly kind and always helpful with everything we needed. Breakfast was really good, and the common areas are wide open and very comfortable to relax in. The room was big, clean, and perfect for a great stay. The location couldn’t be better – close to everything you’d want to see. Honestly, this place has everything you need, and I would totally come back. Highly recommended

The property is a small family ran business, I feel these type of hotels service is always better than the corporate company’s Anne and Peter are absolutely amazing hosts !! We felt so safe and comfortable they organised trips for us bike rental and everything else in between.

I have nothing to complain about the property, they were there to help with everything, once u have a scooter everything is easy access, 7 min bike ride to the centre but there is a beach quiet beach close by and some restraunts close by also.

Hospitality. Very nice owner

The location is very basic. TV not working. In the room no WiFi. Toilet not working normal. The entree is very poor.

Lovely pool, big rooms, great hospitality, friendly dog, easily hired a scooter from the host, we loved it here and found it very relaxing - it was exactly what we needed

Room didn’t have a fridge, our room had very uncomfortable hard pillows which impacted our ability to sleep well, would be good to have some extra pillows in the room, nothing much around so you will need a scooter

Love our room. It has a fridge, air conditioning and hot shower. The room was clean. I also love their hospitality of the resort. Even though we did not have a solid plan, they were helpful and providied us with information and even had a scooter available (400 pesos per day.) The swimming pool was clean as far as we could see it but we did not swim. They have free breakfast(good American breakfast) and a cute dog called Nero.

Unfortunately, our booking room for our first night had some water leaking and they gave us another room ( not as nice as the one that we booked original). But eventually they moved us back to the room that we booked.
