Breakfast was served for a good length of time and supplies were regularly topped up. The location was excellent and we had a balcony room which provided fanatastic views of the town. There were great cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment on our doorstep. Many lovely beaches are just a short drive. The car park is spacious and convenient too. The rooms were cleaned and tidied to a high standard on a daily basis.

Limited selection. Would be nice to have more variety of yogurts, fruit and fresh ingredients. My husband found the cutlery very small. It would be great to have facilities for hot drinks and a safe in the rooms. Also some balcony furniture would be good.

The hotel is very well located in the city center. Free parking available. The town offers close proximity to neighboring mountain trails, Nazaré and Atlantic beaches. Great for a base to explore the area. Comfortable beds. High water pressure - always nice. VERY, VERY nice guy at the reception:))

The hotel feels a little old - the room has a characteristic smell of an old apartment, bathroom is relatively old (but clean and perfectly fine to use), breakfast is really boring and lacks quality products. Terrible coffee. Nevertheless good value for money and would still book the room.

The view from the room with Alcobaça's Monastery pretty much accross the road. Great breakfast buffet. Free car park available just a little walk from the entrance with closed gates and code to get in. There's a covered paid car park right next to the entrance door for anyone who prefers this option.

It's visibly aged and rusty at some small parts but this does not interfere with function and may pass unnoticed to some people. Shower head could be changed, it's visibly old and covered with aged limestone. It was working very fine nevertheless. Hardly anything else of notice.

GREAT location across from the Monastery and accessible to many restaurants. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good...and refreshed even to the end. Eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit... I shared a room with 2 twin beds with a friend. The room was quite big and there was a lot of storage space to unpack. It was in the back, off the street. Very quiet with a patio that was very private. There were many nicely appointed public spaces for meeting or hanging out. Very good value.

The rooms are a bit "tired," but comfortable. Wifi was not very robust. But, overall, this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again!

The front desk, Christoph, was very kind with a good sense of humor and very accommodating. The room was comfy. The shower was hot and had a powerful stream. Complimentary soap and shampoo. Free and paid parking available. The location is excellent, close to shops, food and landmarks. Breakfast was satisfactory with plenty of available seating.

Walls a bit thin, could hear the neighboring room thru the night. Limited electrical outlets available.

I liked the room, it was clean and tidy, the bathroom was as well. After one night, the next day, the used towels were removed and put new ones. The breakfast was good, and while eating, we had a beautiful view in front: the Alcobaça Monastery.

The sleeping pillows were a little bit low, but I used the spare ones underneath. The TV channels weren't working very well, the image was not clear.

Tha stay at Hotel Santa Maria was pretty impecable, at a lack of better words. Everything was arranged for a quiet stay, although the Carnaval was occurring right in front at the Hotel. The room was extremely clean, very comfortable and with amazing natural light. Breakfast was served fresh everyday, starting at 7.30 am. Looking forward to going back!

I arrived late and was well received. The lady at reception made me a nice cup of coffee. It is an old hotel,the style,but not the furniture, newly covered chairs, new beds and bedding. Very clean and spacious. I depart very early and could not try the breakfast. The hotel is opposite the .monastory, thus an excellent location and view.

Location is excellent being in the heart of the town and overlooking the main square. Breakfast extremely good. Housekeeping very good and extremely comfortable bed. All staff smiling and helpful. Have a more than ample sized car park.

Tiled floor would be better in the bedrooms rather than carpet as people have been to the beach for the day and not just the town. A table and chairs on the balcony would be good too.

After booking the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful online with immediate replies to my messages and helped me find buses. Thank you. I will always be greatful. It is impossible to find this information in the UK. Other hotels refuse! So I cancel! Spotlessly clean everywhere with an excellent selection at breakfast and very quiet in an exceptional location.

A grumpy lady in Reception did not want to give me the room I booked and asked for 10 Euros more for a doble in place of TWO singles! Luckily the problem of not having the room I booked with a view of the monastery was partially resolved with the help of a male on Reception and by me showing the staff what customers see online of what the hotel is offering on Booking.com. It clearly shows a balcony and view of the monastery! But problem soon forgotten as male smiled, was helpful and the room was so clean and the view from the balcony and I hope myself being polite helped. Sorry this stopped me rating higher.
