Integration of the Hotel in an Historical Monument. Everything was super clean and smelling good. Big room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast with variety and very good. We also had dinner at the Hotel, which was nice. Swimming pool was the big surprise, we loved it.

It is not much related to the Hotel, but rather with the structure. We stayed in the 1st floor and right above there was probably a family with kids, we woke up with the kids running and with the baby trolley rolling around the room, while doing the room distribution we would recommend to book families with children in the lower floor to avoid noise for the downstairs guests.

The rooms are comfortable but there is an effort made to keep the decor quite spartan as if it was still a monastery. It is connected to the Mosteiro de Alcobaça. The breakfast had many choices on the buffet ie meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruit as well as hot options. Beautiful and clean. The hotel provided a shower chair and wheelchair for my mother. The spa/massage was excellent.

It is enormous. Felt a little eerie with long halls and high ceilings. The elevator can be quite a distance from some rooms. The pool is beautiful but requires bathing caps which can be purchased for 5 EUR.

This is a careful intervention on a historic convent. It is extremely well done. The breakfast, conference and dining areas are historic halls, and the indoors swimming pool is drop dead gorgeous. The breakfast is exceptional. The room we stayed in (couple with two toddlers) was huge, and the room faced the exceptionally quiet and quite scenic inner courtyard. It was a 10/10 for us.

Everything was perfect. No negatives. Being a large square-shaped building, if you have mobility issues you might want to ask for a room located closer to the reception to avoid long(er) walks.

Beautifully restored building by award-winning Portuguese architect. Prime location. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Beautifully desined and attention to detail. Coffee/tea-making facilities in the room. Bonus concert as part of the Cistermúsica Music Festival (only for ticket holders though). Professional, helpful staff. Info (leaflet and book at reception) on the history and restoration project of the cloisters available for guests to read. Excellent incentive scheme for those opting out of housekeeping during multiple night stays. Breakfast was plentiful and staff super-nice.

Guests ruining other people's use of the wonderful pool by making too much noise. Rules should be observed more carefully. I suggest liaising with the monastery for organising guided tours to the cloisters AND the monastery.

Very nice menu and ambiance at the restaurant, both our entrees and salads were excellent. The breakfast buffet was also very good. The woman giving treatments at the spa (Nadia?, sorry, I forget!) was amazing. I had a regular massage and my girlfriend a "Queen of Egypt" treatment, and we were both very impressed. The fact that she is the only person there and does it all, including mani-pedi, is amazing, but I hope they don't burn her out! The cloister around which the hotel is centered is elegant, peaceful, and beautiful, and a truly special place for a drink or a smoke.

Room was good, but not sure why nightstands had a shallow drawer that nothing else could fit in, maybe a little too minimalistic. "Gym" is tiny only one set of dumbells and one of each type of machine. The pool looks stunning, but because of columns and size more just for plunging.

The hotel is really nice: heritage building with a fresh vibe. Stylish interiors, good food, comfortable stay.

All the stuff was quite helpful except our 2 interactions with front desk: in both cases, I would not expect that from the 5 star hotel. First, when we arrived, the front desk host was totally ignoring us for five minutes being on the phone and looking at the monitor - not even a single eye contact! It even more weird when you as a guest are standing right after the monitor - we had an absolute feeling of being not welcome. Second time, we got almost charged double price for our dinner! Luckily we noticed the error on time.

authentic monastic experience means that rooms are a bit austere, and there are some long walks to reach the restaurant and brfeakfast rooms. Breakfast was really good but the restaurant, though pricy didnt meet expectations of five-star options,.

Very unique refit of an old monastery totally modernized. Huge rooms and hallways. Amazingly modern bathroom. Captures the simplicity of the historical venue while treating a guest with elegance. Parking for drivers is easy. Indoor pool is amazing. Breakfast was fine, but not up to the standard of the rest of the place. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We liked it so much we extended our stay two days.

Breakfast was less than I would have expected in a 5 star hotel. Dining room service was slow and while food was good it was not great value.

Breakfast options were fabulous but it was very strange to be in a dining room as the only guests, especially after the chaos of our previous hotel in jam-packed Lisbon. It was if we'd landed on a different planet. We also had a delicious dinner (Frango na Pucara, a local chicken dish) at the recently renovated House 51, around the corner on the square with a view of the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaca. So the hotel was perfectly situated for visiting it the next day.

Hallway windows opened onto a cloister garden which is clearly a stray cat habitat so the smell as we walked to and from breakfast was unpleasant. Pack your bathing cap if you want to use the pool, which looked so inviting in the pictures but air temperature in the room was very warm so we decided against purchasing caps for 5 Euros each.

The architecture is stunning in this historic hotel! Our room was spacious and comfortable! Our bathroom was large with a great shower. Breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from—several cakes, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, rolls, muffins, eggs, bacon, juices, fried mushrooms, beans, etc., The server was very attentive, quickly removing finished plates, etc. This breakfast buffet is a special one and well recommended!
