After reading some other reviews, we were were expecting a less-than-pleasant stay. (We chose the hotel fairly last minute because of its location.) We were very pleasantly surprised. The room, though on the small side, was immaculate and serviced daily; the staff were pleasant and friendly. The breakfast provided a great choice - from bacon, eggs, sausages to croissants, pastries, ham, eggs cereal, crepes, yogurt, fruit etc. It was great to eat breakfast overlooking the sea at a window table. Is there room for improvement? Simple things like tea/coffee facilities in the room plus a mini fridge would be appreciated. (There was a cupboard built for a mini fridge but it was empty). It seems a shame that the hotel doesn't use the large breakfast room to provide an evening restaurant for guests (though there are plenty of restaurants nearby) Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

The room was great with a balcony and sea view, which helped that holiday feeling. The breakfast was limited but fine and the views from the 8th floor restaurant where spectacular. There is a nice pool and the deep end is deep with a diving board. Also, the hotel has beach towels. The hotel is a 15 min walk from the train into Lisbon centre, There is a good selection of restaurants at the back of the hotel and the nice long beach is a short walk.

We don't know why, but almost all the staff were not happy. This was at breakfast, the bar and reception The façade of the hotel is very tatty and all over the hotel there needs to be refurbished, There were chips on the corners of corridor wall, chunks taken out of the wood in the lift and the bedroom was well used. (A small investment could greatly improve the hotel) This hotel hasn't any USB sockets in the bedroom or in the public area.

Although the property is dated, it is big and has all the facilities you need for a family holiday. The rooms didn’t have fridges or a kettle but the staff at reception and the bar helped to store food and to heat up things (essential when travelling with kids) the staff were really helpful and polite and friendly. The pool was loved by the whole family and the distance you the beach and the supermarket was really close by. The room was cleaned every day and the kids were happy with the food at the pool side and the tv channels. The breakfast was the same but still very good for the family to fill up on for a day of fun in the sun! Location - superb Hotel & pool - superb Staff and amenities - superb It’s not the Ritz but it’s was an excellent hotel for the price which has given our families amazing memories in Carcavelos!

We as a family really liked the location that’s not in the middle of a touristic zone. The beautiful and very local beach is right in front. Carcavelos train station is a nice walk away. There is a variety of restaurants plus a supermarket just behind the hotel. The breakfast floor has a nice view of the beach. The pool is really a plus for kid’s activities. Many comments about outdated facilities. It is true, but advantages overweight this minus we felt.

The breakfast can definitely have more variety, especially salads. We started bringing in some ourselves after our second day. There is traffic noise from the cost road in front, which is unfortunate.

Room - Perfect. Breakfast - Not a great selection however, I was fasting for Ramadhan and the Hotel provided me with a breakfast platter in my room every day for my entire stay! PERFECT View - Sea view - Could see the entire coast from the 4th floor. PERFECT

Very close to the beach. Personal was always quite friendly! Breakfast is good and coffee is tasty

The bed has a plastic cover which, with the heat, sticks to your body when you sleep. Quite uncomfortable. Also breakfast is always the same- so if you stay for more than a couple of days, it’s inconvenient. The cleaning personal are there daily and do a great job! However, the maintenance is what’s needed. The building looks rusty and a bit too old. Same with the bathroom floor and the carpets in the bedroom.

The location is what really sells this hotel, lots of great restaurants and 2 minutes away from the beach. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The view with breakfast is worth it just in of it's self.

You can tell the hotel is very old. Although everything was clean it just had a bit of a rundown feel about it. Would be good if the rooms had a fridge.

The hotel needs to make sure there is enough staff on for morning checkouts. The poor gal behind the desk was really working hard - all alone - answering questions from other staff coming in from behind and checking people out so they could make their flights. She managed extremely well but it was stressful for all. Please think of staff.

Breakfast very good. Location excellent

I would have preferred a walk in shower as I found it very difficult to climb into the bath with my mobility problems. Not even any grab rails round the bath. In the foyer the very noisy music coming from the TV screen prevented us from sitting looking over the garden.

We most liked the breakfast, the sea view from 7th floor and presence of a pool. The staff was nice and competent. In addition, the short walking distance from the beach.

The noise during breakfast hours caused by moving seats by other guests and staff on 8th floor. The barking and howling dogs in the surrounding area at night was a challenge if balcony door remained open.
