It is a very romantic place to stay in - an old fortress rebuilt to be a hotel. Overall the hotel is not new, but recently refurbished and looked quite fresh. The breakfast was stunning. There is a car par available, which for Cascais is a huge extra.

Lovely hotel near the marina and a short walk from the centre. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great buffet breakfast and swimming pool was fab for the kids.

The room we were in smelt a little damp and there were very few hooks/places to hang robes and wet swim gear, despite being encouraged not to get towels changed to be kinder to the environment. We had to change them because we couldn't dry them!

Location was amazing. Great hotel in a old fort right near the marina and the old part of town. The breakfast was great value. Loved everything about this hotel.

Maybe to have the room cleaned earlier in the day - on one of the days by 5pm it still hadn't been cleaned - not a big deal but...

Amazing staff , we arrived early but were lucky to be able to check in to our beautiful room, it’s was immaculately clean, the bed huge and really comfortable. Despite it being close to the breakfast room we weee not disturbed by any noise at all. Great location overlooking the marina right in the heart of the town. Perfect spot to enjoy Cascais and not far from anything else but coming back to a restful quiet place was perfect. Maybe the swimming pool Is small but the sun beds are comfortable and all can have umbrellas. All the staff were really friendly and polite and would not hesitate to stay there again. Breakfast selection will suit everyone as there is so much choice. Maybe a little chaotic breakfast service and clearing Of tables in the height of season but be patient and enjoy your time there.

Maybe the slightly uneven path outside getting to the pool area but we found an internal route.

The staff were exceptional, as was the location, my upgraded room and breakfast offerings. The art installations were quirky and gave the hotel its own unique feel.

For a five-star hotel, it has been allowed to become a bit rough around the edges in places. My first room had black marks on the walls, which would’ve only needed a quick lock of paint to remedy. I drew this to the attention of the staff, who upgraded me to a wonderful marina-view room with balcony, which was superb. The on-site prices for food and dining were also significantly higher than those found in and around Cascais.

This property is in a great location to spend a weekend in Cascais. Its theme as an Art hotel oozes from its being. The entrance and bar areas are like visiting a gallery. The room we had was a double superior with seaview, we had a view onto the marina and had a balcony where you could sit or lie down. The view is tainted by the fact the design of the balcony is cement with a clear pane in middle and so feels a bit industrial but is functional. The staff in the hotel cannot do enough to help you, they are professional, attentive and kind. The facilities were great, small gym, outdoor pool with shaded areas near by, great views from top garden and indoor pool with sauna and steam room.

Its not a cheap stay if you compare other hotels nearby but its is worth it for the experience.

We stayed at Pestana in May for our wedding. It was SUCH an amazing stay in all aspects thanks to the wonderful staff of Pestana! It is a 5 star hotel, but the staff is so down to earth and of course really professional. The room we had booked had some issues with humidity - but this was sorted with no issues and we were upgraded to the presidential suite since it was our wedding! Thanks so much to manager Igor Almeida for an incredible service! The whole Pestana team were so amazing, thanks a lot to Sara Pinto, Sofia Francia, Estela Soares, Hasam and Carlos Silva, for their great service and smile. They were always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They also gave us useful information about the hotel and the area, and they were always ready to assist us with anything we needed. We also want to thank Antonio Aguilar, who always helped us with the luggage, and questions we had about hotel locations and any other request. He had a good attitude and a smile all the time. He was polite, cheerful, and efficient, and he made us feel at home. He also gave us some tips on how to get around the hotel, the marina behind the hotel and what to see and do. The breakfast was AMAZING! The food outstanding, and they even have sparkling wine every day - really calming for our wedding day;) Amazing staff there too of course - so attentive and friendly. In conclusion, we had a wonderful and unforgettable stay at Hotel Pestana Cidadela Cascais, and we highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel with a great staff. We want to thank all the staff for their excellent work and support, for make us feel like home and special every day, for making our guests and friends feel welcomed and for playing and excellent role in our weeding plan. We hope to come back soon!

The location was perfect for the town centre. The breakfast was everything you would expect from a quality hotel and most of the staff were excellent. The bedroom was very comfortable, the bed was perfect and the linen superb. Pool area was very nice and very private considering the location.

In the bathroom it would have been helpful to have a few pegs to hang robes etc and a bin would have been useful. One or two of the staff in the dining room would benefit from a little more training.

Location was great as was the breakfast included with the room. We also utilized the outside pool area.

We were unable to control the air temperature and air flow in the room and it was a bit warm for us. We ended up opening the window during the day (our room overlooked the square so with this we also got the noise of other travelers) but when it was very windy or overnight it was shut so the room became rather stuffy. Also, our mini fridge did not work during our entire stay. We let the front desk know several times, but no one came to address the fridge issue. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.

The property is protected. behind the walls of an ancient fortress. It is beautiful and quiet...yet only a 5 minute walk to a lively town and less than 5 minutes to the marina. The location is amazing and should be marketed better on their website. The breakfast was fabulous - highly recommend including that in your night's stay. We stayed in the suites which were right off of the main courtyard. Absolutely loved their location and comfort within. The staff was excellent and VERY accommodating for my family. We needed to move my parents to a different room and they were patient and gracious... There is a restaurant onsite off of the main courtyard. It served some of the best food we had in Cascais. It was perfect for mid-afternoon drinks and nibbles, as well as late night.

Nothing really to complain about. I would absolutely stay here again!
