Situated just outside of Chavez and near the Spanish border, this is a perfect jumping-off point for journeys around northern Portugal, and seems to be a hub of activity around the town, especially the restaurant. The restaurant was lovely and had huge portions of regional cuisine. The staff is incredibly nice, and the proprietor is a genial host. Just a great slice of life in northern Portugal.

There are quite a few rooms in the corridor, and I could hear noise in the hall and from adjacent rooms. Ultimately, I slept well but, as is typical of the region, people don't go to bed until late!

We have stayed here before and we enjoyed it. We arrived early this time but it wasn't a problem. Everyone is so helpful, making sure you have everything you need. You are encouraged to try different foods and they are rightly proud of their kitchen. We didn't go into the bar this time, we just stayed at our table.

It’s a great location. Not very far from the city center (5min), but also close to the road on our way to Oviedo. The rooms are super clean and nice. They just renovated the entire hotel. It’s a family owned hotel. The staff was great, very nice and helpful. The bonus was the restaurant attached to the hotel. Best bacalhau (cod fish) that I ever had (and I had lot growing up in Brazil). The owner loves wines and let us tried different ones. Even arranged for us to visit a small exclusive winery. We will definitely come back to explore the region more.

A very well kept place and the owner is looking into that permanently, smaller type room but well organized with a huge built in closet taking care of everything, a comfortable bed and a small bathroom with plenty of hot water, breakfast is continental with some home made cakes and if you get the chance like I did,the owners mother prepares a fantastic cinnamon roll not baked but out of pasta, simply gorgeous

The parking and the hotel are connected by two narrow and steep staircases not ideal for older people especially when carrying a suitcase

A brilliant value for money hotel. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant was very good - always a good sign when so many locals are eating in the venue. Staff very friendly and helpful. And Chaves is a lovely wee town too!!

Nothing adverse to report at this price point.

Incredibly attentive staff. We are travelling with a baby and the staff preemptively helped us all the time without us even asking. They put us in a room at the end of the corridor so we wouldn’t disturb other guests, helped run food to my husband from the restaurant as he stayed in the room with the sleeping baby, and had a table ready for us at breakfast in a separate to the other guests. These actions just took all the stress out of our stay and shows how attentive the staff are to the customers and do things without it even needing to be asked. Thank you so much for the team to make it a hassle free stay.

Nothing - great stay.

A really nice place about a 10 minute drive from the historical center of Chaves. The people at the hotel are very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. There’s a nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast is included in the price. There’s on-site parking. We would very happily return.

The only problem we had was with the shower which was a little difficult to use and with a door that was a little off it’s track. But everything else was great.

From the minute we pulled into the parking lot to the moment we left we were treated like family. Sr Miguel was awsome talking time to make us feel at home every time he saw us.

Nothing negative to say. My husband and I plan on coming back to Chaves in a year or so and there is no ther place for us to stay! Kudos to Miguel and his staff, Thank you for the warmth and friendliness.

I liked everything, the staff were absolutely brilliant, so helpful and extremely kind. Everything was so clean and very comfortable. The food was delicious, just five 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 everything. I definitely recommend 👌.

We liked everything about our night here. The staff were great, really helpful, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The meal in the evening was excellent and good value. The breakfast was excellent too and it was included in the price. The hotel is a little out of Chaves, but the hotel can get you a taxi, for not a lot. We will be back definitely.
