The apartment was well stocked and the hosts added some thoughtful details like a gown for our son as well as jam, butter, bread and coffee. The pool and view was very nice and it was quiet. Silvi greeted us on arrival and provided us with tips on visiting the Algarve.

The owners have a Doberman puppy, which is not yet trained. The dog chased our son on two occasions. I would advise anybody with young children to book only if your children are comfortable with this kind of dog and the hosts can assure you the dog has been adequately trained. It should be made clearer by the hosts on Bookings that there is a Doberman dog on the premises and it should then be up to families if they want to book in light of this information.

The location was perfect for a quiet stay yet not far from any of the cities where restaurants, stores etc. can be found. We enjoyed our hosts very much, wonderful people, very helpful and caring they went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. The apt. was spacious and had everything you need. Sylvie and JC really put thought into what their guests might require. The property was lovely, pool, frisbee golf, bowls and a really beautiful view. A short walk 15-20 mins. to a lovely cafe that serves English breakfast. Definitely coming back our next stay in the Algarve!

Beautiful hill top location away from the busy coastal strip Our warm and welcoming hosts had thought of everything for the apartment making it a wonderful experience The pool is great and very well maintained our only regret was we didn’t spend more time in and near it There are some beautiful and interesting walks nearby but do get out early to avoid the heat.

Nothing to not like but you will need a car to get around and the time passed too quickly 🙂

It’s a huge compliment to Sylvie and JC that this is the third time we’ve been to Monte Bougainvillea. The apartments are lovely, everything has been thought of, the grounds are great and the setting is perfect. Little extras from Sylvie like home made preserves and some home cured olives were a lovely touch, and the welcoming provisions so thoughtful and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful villa with gorgeous salt water pool, very peaceful and relaxing and so many nice touches including a well stocked honesty bar fridge, garden games, loan of a car and considerate attention from the hosts.

Beautiful views and nice sized suite. Perfect for a few days away. In the summer the pool would be a great place to hang out.

It was cold weather so the suite was cold the first few days. Not the fault of the owner, just climate change.

The most beautiful, quaint villa situated in the hills above Faro. Everything you could need provided by Sylvie and JC who were such kind, welcoming hosts. The apartments have everything you could possibly need. Every detail was catered to and it made the biggest difference in how magical our stay was. I stayed with my best friend. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Absolutely quiet location with perfect star view at night and remote see view during the day. Sylvie and JC are wonderful hosts, very discreet and helpful, the apartment has everything we needed. The beds are perfect. We didin't want to go back home.

Initially we thought it was stunning but a bit unsure if it was a bit too remote for us. We were wrong, it didn’t take us long to absolutely fall in love with it. It’s a villa, in the mountains, with self contained apartments. Absolutely every need is catered to. Sylvie collects you at the airport and drops you back of (no fee), staying for a week you get car hire free, I think if less than a week you can hire a car from them. Everything is immaculate, you have a welcome pack to start with, dressing gowns, slippers, beach towels, even bags for life are supplied. It’s so tranquil and peaceful. The pool area is lovely, we only shared it with one other person. I do not have a single negative. We will most certainly return and we will recommend it to everyone we know. We felt spoiled and well looked after. The hosts go above in beyond in anticipating your every need.

The only thing to be aware of is that you do need to drive, there isn’t really anywhere to walk to. Possibly the local pub but it’s up hill on way back. This isn’t a negative at all, more something you should consider. My husband doesn’t mind driving abroad but I wouldn’t.

Exceptional place to stay. Gorgeous and clean pool with lots of seating areas. My son's loved going in the pool after a day out. Mattresses in the apartment were very comfortable too. Everything has been well thought out for guests. Having the car provided by the owners was a huge bonus, as we got to get around various beaches, shopping centres and places of interest, Sylvie also picked us up and dropped us off at the airport which was wonderful.
