Great location – but only if you have a car. It’s about 15 minutes to the center of Faro and 20 minutes to the beaches. The hotel itself is set outside the city, which makes it very quiet and cozy in the evenings and at night. There’s an on-site restaurant, which is a big plus – no need to look for a place to have dinner. The rooms are clean and spacious. Free parking and EV charging are available. The pool is quite shallow – it might not be very exciting for adults, but it’s perfect for kids.

A few downsides: ants occasionally find their way into the room, and the pool isn’t always cleaned overnight – in the mornings, there are sometimes bugs and bits of grass floating in it. A stronger pump would help.

The whole experience was amazing. I have told the hotel we will arrive late for the check-in and they have waited 3 hours for us. I also have told them it is my wife's birthday and they have prepared a cake, a proseco and balloons for her at midnight. The staff at the hotel realised we are hungry so she made us some food at 00:30 hours. I was shocked by the amount of care and love we recieved and that was only the first night. We stayed here for 4 nights and every day was better than before. They go out of their way to help you with anything. The hotel is in the middle of a village and that's exactly what we wanted. Very quite in the nature. The hotel is sustainable, they grow crops, they have chickens and even goats somewhere. There is a restaurant at the hotel that is extremely good. A Thai restaurant with super high quality of food. Some of the ingredients comes from the hotel orchard which is makes is fresh and tasty. Last but definitely not least, the hotel owner and managers are a lovely couple that go above and beyond to help you with your requests. Such a lovely place. I strongly recommend.

Where do I begin, what an amazing property! If you want some peace and time to unwind this is it! The owner was so nice to wait for us the first night as our flight was delayed and our rental car took some time, so we ended up checking in quite late. We had such an amazing time at Mercedes Country House, it was so close to the airport, so easy to get to, very secluded and quiet. The actual property was exactly what I was looking for those three days. Super clean, beautiful amazing staff and lovely pool and oh what an amazing and fresh breakfast! Just everything top notch, we will definitely be revisiting. The pool was very clean, the room was spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable. The ladies were amazing, every morning would greet us with a smile and ask us if we would like our usual lovely and fresh scrambled eggs. Just brilliant.

There is really nothing I did not like honestly. One thing I would add and by all means did not spoil it for us, is maybe a 24hr desk, or bar service. They had a lovely restaurant which had such amazing Thailand food but maybe just a few more options only as if you are traveling with kids that would help and save time having to drive somewhere. But again not a dealbreaker and a definite easy one to pass for what you get.

This is a lovely small boutique hotel that has a Thai restaurant attached to it. The staff were attentive and laid back not pushy at all. This is about 20 mins drive from Faro so quite remote and you would need a car/ taxi

As it is small hotel I would enhance the room by having cold drinks in the mini fridge. There was daily water but a small drinks fridge would be 5star.

Large room, extremely clean. Pool towels as well as bath towels were provided. Delicious breakfast with locally produced jams etc. Air conditioning in the rooms was excellent. A perfect location for those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Had to drive to go anywhere. We had hired a car but it would be hard if you were without one! Not many restaurants or supermarkets close by. But some villages with lovely places! They could do with air conditioning in the reception area.

The Mercedes is a wonderful modernist building with a great sense of space and tranquility. There are only a handful of rooms so you do feel that you have the place to yourself and at times it almost felt that I was in a private villa, which was ideal as I had wanted complete rest and relaxation after a stressful year. I also had the pool and sun loungers to myself for most of my stay (7 nights). It is a family run business and not a hotel, so the experience is more intimate and relaxed, do not expect the reception to be manned 24/7 as it's not that sort of establishment though Miguel and his son were great and were on hand if you needed something. You will often see Paco (their adorable pug) around and when they say they are dog friendly they really are - wish more places could be like this. Breakfast is continental style and there were enough options to keep us happy. There is a lovely Ukrainian woman serving at the moment and she is very friendly and attentive. The jewel in this particular crown is the Thai restaurant attached to the property. The food is very good and reasonably priced so it was surprising not to see it full every evening. Miguel stores his wine cellar with fabulous wines - honestly we had some of the best white wine that I have tasted all year here (and I drink a lot of wine!). The surrounding land is being used to grow fruit and veg for the restaurant. So you will see things like avocado trees, this can make the land seem a bit scrubby but the smells that would drift our way in the evening... magical! I also loved that the pool was so close to our room - literally 10 steps away. I have to say I was rather sad to leave at the end of our stay.

This is not the hotel's fault but the surrounding areas are not attractive and it is not a location that is conducive for walking. We didn't hire a car and used Bolt/Uber which was ok (taxi drivers were all very friendly) but maybe for flexibility a car would have been better. The pool is great and a good size but there are no ladders/steps to help you get in. Not a problem for us but if you have mobility issues might be less than ideal. While we enjoyed the Thai food it is not the sort of cuisine that you would want every lunch/night, not a problem if you are only there for a couple of nights but meant we had to go out to get something different and that meant hiring a taxi as again nothing really available in walking distance.

The breakfast was varied - and the yogurt delicious beyond words It was the closest accommodation that I could find for my visits to my mother in the Monte de Palguheira Nursing Home. It was a peaceful retreat to come back to in the evening. The restaurant was a bonus because had it not been there, it would have been another Uber ride to find somewhere. I was so impressed with the hotel and the manager that I took cards to the Home to be circulated to family looking to visit their loved ones. I also told all the Uber drivers - that was about 8 more people.

Some milk in the bedroom fridge - to make tea- would have been very welcome. I really should have asked because the hotel manager did ALL he could to make it the best stay.

Excellent stay at Mercedes, the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate us. We arrived early in the morning as part of a large party and the staff were so kind and communicative allowing us to use all the facilities hours before we could check in.

The only quibble was the bathroom door had a lock that was difficult to navigate. Just very minor quibbles in an otherwise great stay

Very frienly and helpful staff, amazing outside area for chilling and relaxing. Domestic animals nearby - very interesting for the kids. Also they had a living room area with a pool table, TV and some games. We loved our stay there and would come back again.

Only Thai food in the evening at the restaurant. Would have loved to have some local food on the menu list too.

The rooms are spacious, well iluminated, pleasant, and clean. The beds are comfortable. We could not hear any noise from the neighboring rooms. The garden is well maintained, quiet, and has enough shade spots. The swimming pool is ok for cooling down and playing with family/kids. The breakfast is quite good.

The extra bed for our soon was comfortable, but noisy (metal or springs rubbing each other).
