My room was massive and the balcony had a hot tub and was also very spacious. The views were beautiful. I traveled alone and felt so safe. The reception manager Joào is an absolute treasure and credit to the hotel. He made me feel so welcome and was very attentive to everyone’s needs. I found out while staying there the hotel had only opened in July ! You would of never known as everything was so professional. The lady who cooks the breakfasts, makes the best cakes, as well a delicious cooked breakfast. There is also food served all day , the pizza was delicious, had it twice. The swimming pool area is beautiful too. I definitely will return and recommend to all my friends.

I liked absolutely everything about the property

Fabulous room and balcony with views. I had an early flight, so I didn’t get chance to use the pool or Jacuzzi or sample the breakfast. I walked with my hand luggage from the airport around 23hrs. I think it took me about 12 minutes, which was no problem at all and it was mostly well lit. The room was huge and very clean. The bed was great and extremely comfortable.

I couldn’t find a door bell to alert reception to my arrival and I had to telephone from the front door. Better signage and/or a bell would help. I would also have appreciated more than two coffee pods. But these are both minor points. This really is a fab hotel and I’d definitely stay again.

We loved the stay, only two nights but perfect. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures, well maintained. The staff super kind, efficient ... The only advice is that is needed to have a car once the hotel is about fee kms from Fato, but it is easy access to the roads what facilitates as well.

We thought we were not near shops or cafes but later realised we were just a few minutes walk away. maybe staff could give directions when you arrive?

Hotel was comfortable and consistent with expectations. Very convenient to the Faro airport for an early departure. The hotel arranged for an early transfer to the airport.

It would be nice if the outdoor spaces were nonsmoking, but that’s not common anywhere in Europe.

It is locadet just a few minutes from the Airport overlooking the river. Beauftiful views. Beautiful common area, pool and spa. Breakfast was good. My room was great. Staff was super friendly! 15 minute Drive to Faro Downtown.

The location is a little bit tricky to find. However with GPS ist should not be an issue at all.

What a great find! If you’re looking for a place to stop-over then look no further than the family owned/run Ria Formosa Guest House. We booked a family room (large with a sofa bed) as we had quite a bit of luggage but in the end just left some of it downstairs so we didn’t need to carry it all up the one flight of stairs. The hotel was built last year so everything is in great condition. The beds are really comfy and the room has a spacious and well equipped ensuite. There is a bar, restaurant area and outdoor pool area with sun loungers. We paid for the continental breakfast which was very good value and included lots of choice both hot and cold. The cost of an Uber either to or from the airport was around 8 Euros although if you only have light luggage you could easily walk. Although it’s close to the airport we were not bothered by any aircraft noise which was a pleasant surprise. We booked through Booking.com and the whole process was easy with great communications from the hotel and a personal and friendly welcome when we arrived. If we are back in Faro looking for an overnight stop near the airport then we wouldn’t look any where other than the Ria Formosa Guest House. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed here for a few nights in july, can honestly say this is probably the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe. The hotel its self is stunning, very modern and clean feel to it, with large standard rooms and balcony. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, as was the facilities such as sauna and hot tub (which were free to use). The location is a 10 minute walk from airport, although this meant faro centre wasn’t within walking distance, Uber was easy and cheap enough to book. The staff here were all round great, going above and beyond for us and other guests. We arrived well before check in, due to flights, and the staff were kind enough to give us complementary drinks and towels for the pool while we waited for check in however they managed to give us the room a few hours early which was very appreciated. The hotel is definitely great value for money and worth every penny as for the reasonable price and the luxury you receive.

proximity to airport is ideal as it is possible to walk if you don't have much luggage. stylish surroundings; comfortable sofas and lounge area. pool area is elegant, pool is a decent size to swim in as well room was excellent

option to boil water in room would be welcome (instead of or as well as the nespresso machine) eating an evening meal locally was problematic ie restaurants not open would have appreciated some more information about what the guest house could offer on arrival - i think there is a sauna and jacuzzi but only found that out by a comment from another guest and by then it was too late to use it. also they serve food but again this was not offered as an option even when we asked about recommendations to eat

Good communication from reception team. Good security measures, if required to gain entry. Staff were professional and courteous at all times. The whole guest house is very tastefully decorated, clean and modern. We had a huge room on the top floor with balcony views over the lagoons and Faro beyond. The bed is super king size with quality bed linen and pillows used. The mattress is firm. The shower room was well equipped, with a large shower cubicle, big mirror, good lighting and an external window. Fresh fluffy towels were supplied. We ate at the guest house, in the dining area, it's a simple menu the food was cooked well, there is also a small bar area. Breakfast is described as a continental breakfast, but it was so much more and really excellent for 8 euros per person. We would both highly recommend Ria Formosa to anyone visiting the area.

Toweling dressing gowns would have been nice when using the hot tub, and maybe some washable slippers. Perhaps this was over looked on this occasion, as they are shown in the photographs. Additional towels for the hot tub as well. The screening of the balcony from the viewing area could do with being reversed, so you can have privacy whilst using the hot tub.
