Great for a Quiet, Comfortable Stay – But Not the Most Social This hostel is very clean, well-maintained, and has a beautifully decorated space that feels welcoming. The kitchen is fully equipped, which is great, but unfortunately, it’s closed from 11 PM to 7 AM, which can be inconvenient if you need a late-night snack or an early breakfast. The WiFi is strong and reliable, making it a great place to work remotely. However, if you’re looking for a social atmosphere, this might not be the best choice. The hosts are polite but not very interactive, and overall, the hostel doesn’t have a very social vibe—though that might have more to do with the city itself. If you want a quiet, comfortable place to stay with good facilities but don’t prioritize meeting other travelers, this is a solid option.

The property was one of the best I have ever stayed at in over 35 years and many countries . From the moment I met Pablos team ,Marcos , Andre , Umaro and Kasphia What a team outstanding team that go well beyond the expected service from the first moment of waking trough the door right through to Checking out I was made to feel safe , valued and respected and that means a lot to a solo traveller to help navigate his way in a very large city . This team have great knowledge of all of there local city and many other places . I would highly recommend this hostel to all from families to business travellers everyone across the spectrum is giving the same hospitality and In todays fast times that brightens all our lives .

I liked everything about the hostel

I recently stayed at this wonderful hostel in the heart of Faro, and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. The first thing that struck me was the incredibly friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. They were always available to answer questions and provide recommendations for local attractions, making my stay even more enjoyable. The hostel features a well-equipped kitchen that was perfect for preparing meals and snacks. I loved having access to all the necessary utensils and appliances, which made cooking a breeze and allowed me to save some money on dining out. The rooms and common areas were tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the decor made the space feel warm and welcoming, encouraging guests to relax and socialize. One of the standout features for me was the comfortable beds, which were designed to provide privacy. Each bed had curtains that could be drawn for added seclusion, allowing me to enjoy a good night's sleep without disturbances.

Super friendly staff, helped me with the bag and got me one extra duvet since I was freezing. The building itself is amazing; big rooms, high ceilings, old and charming. Outdoor seating area next to the kitchen, living room, AND a large sized beautiful terrace with sun all day 😎 I loved it. Super close to the harbour, restaurants and shops. Clean bathrooms. Big kitchen. Comfortable bed that made no noise!!!

The walls are paper thin, I would say that this is a pretty loud hostel… you’ll basically hear everything, even from downstairs if you’re sleeping upstairs. The showers don’t have handles, only the type that is right above your head. AC in the room was not working, and it got pretty cold at night. Under the bed it was very dirty, and I wiped the shelves and table inside the room from dust.

The stay at Tilia Hostel was nice and the hostel is in an very good location, close to all amenities you need. They have a nice kitchen if you need to have a quick meal. They also have lots of games and entertainment at night with you want to participate. The terrace also is a plus, overall was a great stay and I would recommend the hostel as well.

Maybe a bit more toilets would be nice too.

Really cool stylish spacious hostel with great facilities - kitchen, roof terrace, lower terrace, large lounge with weekend pop up bar and piano, 24 hour reception with super helpful staff. Room at night was properly dark and bunk was comfy, I slept so well. Location is brilliant, close to train and bus stations, airport, beaches, city centre etc. Great mix of folk staying. I was here 8 days, loved it. V quiet in Feb which suited me well. Very clean esp kitchen after bathrooms.

The rain! Just kidding, even the rain was beautiful

This is such a lovely renovated hostel. With a lovely owner and amiable staff. It’s set up in an old building with beautiful high ceilings. In the patio there is an inscription with three dates, the year it was built, the year it became a refugee for girls and the year it changed into a hostel. It feels like a very safe place. Lovely sunny 1 floor levelled rooftop terrace. Well equipped kitchen with coffee & tea during the morning. And a very big place to eat, work or hang out. (big enough to not disturb each other when someone has to make a call, as it did rain sometimes)

There’s nothing really that I didn’t like. For backproblem people: the dorm mattresses are between good for Portugal standards. Kitchen closes at night but the common room is always open, so if you need snacks in between it’s better to keep it with you.

Wow, it was an amazing experience! The hostel is situated in an old restored mansion, close to the center of Faro. Everything is very stylish and atmospheric. Nice room, comfortable bed with a private curtain and lighting, good shower, well-equipped kitchen, a lot of common spaces including roof-top terrace. The staff was helpful and welcoming. I would definitely come here again!

Nothing :)

Definitely good location and friendly staff, the building has a very beatiful interior, painted with vibrant colours creating a cozy atmosphere. Very clean showers and bathrooms. Big plus is the terrace with a bar to hang out!

The space in the shared rooms was a bit limited so large pieces of luggage were just laying around. Also a bit noisy air conditioning running during the night.

I have only one complain concerning the management of Tilia ,,and what happened was that I did an overbooking accidentally, I booked 2 persons for 2 nights instead of booking1 person. When I claimed for a refund at the reception, the manager said that there was NO refund and that I believe was unfair for me as a customer, I had to pay double although I requested to remain in the hostel for 3 more days, my request was not accepted. Therefore I have to say that I was not happy at all because I paid money for nothing! And as a result this is not a nice policy of the management and you might loose customers in the future due to this bad policy. I will consider seriously if I come back to this hotel again. although my stay was lovely,,,Thanks very much and all the best.,,
