It's a very quaint little B&B in the middle of old town, close to Marina, and only about 10 min taxi ride to the airport. We initially wanted just a place to sleep for the night near the airport, because we had a very early flight out. What we got was a lot more and more pleasant: very clean , updated room, even cozy. Welcoming staff. Lovely neighborhood with great entertainment and dining options (Sandra's recommendation for dinner was excellent). Upon departure we realized that we've been missing on Faro as a destination, rather than just a hop-off/on airport. Casa Saudade really helped us appreciate Faro as a town, and what I has to offer by itself. Next time we come to Algarve, we will definitely spend a few days in Faro

WiFi needs to be looked at, something was not right, maybe it was just our luck, but the bandwidth was abysmal, and the connection kept dropping. We really did not need it that much, so no big deal for us.

The location is truly unmatched! Right in the heart of the city, you’re steps away from the best bars, restaurants, markets, and the waterfront. The space itself is beautifully designed, blending old-world charm with modern comfort. We especially loved the room’s decor, it had so much character. Sandra and Carlos were fantastic with communication and made everything seamless. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Faro!

Just a few small things to note, nothing major! A. There’s a short staircase leading to the main floor, so something to keep in mind if you have any knee issues or are traveling with oversized luggage. B. The bottom of the door had a gap, which made it less soundproof than ideal. Hopefully, the hosts can patch that up soon. We had a sound machine with us, which helped. C. There’s a glass window above the wooden door, so when the corridor light turns on, a bit of it spills into the room. If you're a light sleeper like I am, an eye mask might come in handy.

Apartment was very clean and comfortable, spacious and well laid out. Location was perfect for us, in the middle of the centre, handy for bars and restaurants and close to the waterfront. Communication with Carlos/Sandra was excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Some have commented about street noise but this wasn't noticeably significant in my opinion - if you want to stay in the centre of things a bit of background noise goes with the territory.

No significant complaints however the room heater seemed to be somewhat temperamental. Carlos popped along and got it working for us however it subsequently stopped working again (we were close to leaving at that point so it wasn't a big issue). Could have been our user error although I notice others have made similar comments so may need looking at. Note this was a minor issue for us and would certainly not stop us returning.

The location is great, we had the room in the back which made it possible to not have the noise from the street in front. The windows are really good and block a lot of the noise. Nice bedding, nice room. Fun that there are coffee and tea facilities and thank you for the baby bed!

I guess the only down side is that you can hear things well between the hallway and the room. The door doesn't close properly, which also explains the extra noise. But if you keep everything in that style (same doors etc) it makes sense. I do think there could be an extra measure taken to block the noise, I just don't see how.

Very comfortable, tasteful apartment with a well balanced mix of traditional portuguese style elements and modernity. 5 minutes walk to the historic center or the marina of Faro. The apartment is located in the pedestrian area (= lots of nice restaurants, shops etc.), which is in the immediate neighbourhood of the historic center. Suggestion: go for a dolphin watching tour from the marina, but choose one of the smaller tour operators. Last but not least: Very nice and kind hosts! The apartment was lovely and spacious, light and airy with high ceilings. It was very comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed, the owners have obviously put a lot of thought into it. The location is excellent, it's in the middle of one of the cobbled pedestrian areas with several restaurants - including two great cafes right below, which are extremely convenient for breakfast! Although the street can get busy in the evening we enjoyed the vibrancy, and the soundproofing on the streetside double-glazed French doors is excellent, once closed you can hear hardly anything. Carlos and Sandra were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and they also provided us with their own walking tour of Faro and restaurant recommendations, which were both very useful. A charming apartment in a great location, we would definitely stay here again.

Can't think of any negatives

The location was excellent. The bed really comfy and shower great. The best really were the hosts, they could not do enough for us. Provided an iron and ironing board. Gave us so much information and asked each day if we needed anything at all. Offered fresh towels and sheets even though we only stayed five nights. Sent us recommendations for restaurants and places to see. What lovely people.

Balcony was very tiny so a bit disappointing as you could not sit on it. Rooms are above a busy street which is quite noisy at night so you can’t really leave the French doors open. But that’s all really.

Great location and the room was really clean. Mattress was comfortable and towels smelt so nice and clean too. Shower was also amazing with a strong water pressure which I love. Communication with a host was spot on and all instructions were clear and given all in advance. There are so many restaurants and cafes around, so you are spoilt for choice. No issues at all. Would stay here again for sure! Recommend.

stairs to go up can be difficult if you have heavy luggage and child with a pram. But as it is quite an old building you would expect some stairs.

Fast communication beforehand, and during our stay. Excellent location for those wanting to be in the thick of Faro life... Excellent space, light bright with great air-con .. super double glazed french doors, our room was at front, cut out nearly all the lively restaurant and bar scene below. Great wee kitchen space and good shower too. Would recommend - also easy to get to bus or train stations. Also, appreciated the ability for early access to property if the rooms were available...nice one, certainly in the heat of an Algarve sunny morning!

Only there one night, next time longer, hopefully

The location is perfect. You are a few minutes walk from everything. The rooms are situated on a road with lots of restaurants and easy to pick up anything you need The price point was amazing for the size of the room. There streaming services on the TV ( you need your own account ) which isn't always available

The shower was a little small and a bit cramped, and the drainage wasn't perfect. The AC / Heater was not working & it was a little cold at night but it was OK Noise from other rooms / outside woke us up a few times. But that could happen in any central location.
