Front desk staff (Marcelo and Lilyan) were friendly,warm and extremely helpful. It is ideally located with short walk to the harbour where the old town is beautiful. Recommend going on the red tour "bus". We loved eating in Amore Mio restaurant with the food excellent and ambiance superb. Room was clean and well fitted. Shower excellent. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Shopping mall just a 15 mins walk and is very pretty.

Roots Hotel it’s a really nice hotel, unfortunately we stayed there only for one night. We rented a small studio with small kitchen, table and double bed. It was nice clean with the view to the recreational area, bed was comfortable. The hotel has a recreational area with a small outdoor pool, outside tables and egg chair. There is a some common are where you can serve yourself a free coffee which was really nice. All hotel looks nice a renovated, really pleasant place to stay in Faro. Location is good close to the Marina and the Old Town and only 10 minutes from Faro Airport.

My son and I stayed here in early September and we loved everything about this hotel. The room was perfect for two people and very comfortable. The building may not look too appealing from outside but the inside seems new and very sleek. Our room was on the fourth floor and quiet. It had mini kitchen with sink, microwave and two burner stove, dishwasher and all of the amenities you would need. We had two single beds and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. Everything was quality. They offered a breakfast but we did not have it. There is limited parking in a garage below the property. There was a lovely back garden area with mini pool. The staff were so kind, helpful and nice. The hotel is in a safe area and very close and walkable to the centre, train station, bus station and the large shopping area is a short walking distance too.

The little pool in the back was chilly. Other than that there wasn't anything we didn't like.

I stayed in a studio with balcony with my sister the room was very well presented and clean, bedding changed each day. It had everything we needed.Could not fault this hotel albeit some buildings around it are getting renovated. You can reach the train station by cutting though the little garden opposite the hotel then turn left and its facing you. You can get trains to tavira, Olhão and fuseta etc. Tavira is definitely worth a visit as you can also catch a ferry to the beach if you want the best of both worlds. Fuseta is a great little fishing village with a beach. Staff in the hotel are very friendly and approachable and helped us with our queries. Faro is a great place to visit everyones friendly cafes and restaurants are 5 mins walk away and there's a good selection. If you walk further on passed the faro sign/marina you will come to the old town. There are great restaurants there especially the old tavern. We thought everything about our holiday was fabulous.

Hotel is newly renovated, modern, pristine and everywhere smells so good even towels/linen! Our room was a decent size, amazing fully equipped kitchenette, super comfy bed, the room has everything you need inc. an iron. Free tea, coffee from machine on ground floor which is a nice touch. Staff friendly. Location is perfect, couple minutes walk to the marina and into the town. We will definitely stay again.

Only a recommendation but the only thing I felt missing in the room was a couple of coat hooks would have been great by the room entrance. Bathroom plug socket was faulty so couldn’t dry my hair in bathroom but was ok and used socket in kitchen. Not the hotels fault but had noisy guests above us so couldn’t relax in the evening before going out as we’d been up since 5am to travel and then was woken at 3:15am by guests that night. Mentioned it to one of the staff and we didn’t really hear them after that. Hasn’t put me off returning but I think I would probably request a room on the top floor and on jacuzzi side next time.

The size of the unit was excellent with plenty of space. The small kitchen was ideal for breakfasts and snacks - and good enough for making a hot meal. The "help yourself" coffee machine is a brilliant idea. The underground secure parking is great.

The double glazing to the windows were not sufficient to deal with the noise and vibration from constant traffic which goes down the road - buses, lorries - because it is so near to the rail station. Ear plugs needed. Ask for a room away from the road in front of the hotel. The "breakfast in a box" is not a great idea - and if you hate bananas tell the staff as it makes everything else smell banana.

Big room on ground floor with black out curtains and voile too. We were in room 1 which is disability friendly accommodation. Comfy bed. Good kitchenette - with decent utensils etc.. Location is excellent -walkable to town and close to a nice restaurant and the railway station. We also walked up to the Forum shopping centre. Clean room and a/c worked well - as we needed a little heat one chilly feb evening.

There are no hooks to hang anything in the bathroom- so towels and wash bags get draped everywhere. No chopping board in otherwise vey well equipped kitchenette. Little to dislike if honest! Thank you hotel ‘roots’.

Loved the location in the heart of Faro. The property is immaculate in its design and presentation, with some lovely finishing touches within the building like the outdoor pool, dining area, and the individual lounge area on our rop floor apartment. The apartments are well equipped for a self-catering city break. Great communication from staff, particularly from Liliana, who went the extra mile to assist with all of my questions and special requests, (hope you enjoyed your gift Liliana, you are a true assest in your role at the Roots Hotel).

Very minor point with the location of the USB wall socket/point placed in the kitchen/diner. I felt an extra point would be appreciated in the bedroom.

It was clean and offered free coffee.

The hotel was good, but the room had no soundproofing and I could hear the person next door snoring all night. I could also hear housekeeping staff on the corridors from 7am.
