Extremely friendly and helpful staff who immediately gave me tips on the next days cycling journey which saved me a lot of bother. An old school but very comfortable hostel. High ceilings give it a lovely ambience and the rooms less stuffy than other hostels. There was ample room for 4 in the 4 bed, even tho there was only 1 other guest. Kitchen and lounge were very comfy and well equipped spaces. I wish I could have stayed another day, the boardwalks around the area were also fantastic, even on a foggy evening. In the summer I imagine the place is amazing! It was also extremely good value for money!

a lovely stay in an excellent old building, with perfectly clean shared bathrooms and a very comfortable bedroom. we booked a private room and had a comfy double bed and an airy bright room. the neighbourhood is lively but the building faces a street that is quiet at night, a perfect combination; lots of excellent restaurants and bars, and of course the beach in walking distance. our host was extremely kind and helpful. if we return to figueira, we will definitely stay here again.

The friendly staff, great location and facilities. It was my first time in a shared room and although you can't choose roommates I enjoyed my stay. Multiple bathrooms, great kitchen and easy access to the hostel. Hostel is right next to the market and a 5min walk from the nearest beach and city center, no better place.

As it is on the main road to the center it can sometimes be noisy with the windows open but if you use earplugs you can sleep perfectly.

The service is perfect from A to Z. Excellent location, right by the sea and all the shops and services. Easy to get around on foot. The owner is friendly, helpful, and available with good communication. The place is quiet, there is space but also always a some people around to socialize. It's a good balance. The dorms are comfortable, and you can keep your belongings safe in a locker. There are several spacious toilets and bathrooms available, so you never have to wait. There is a beautiful view from the hostel. The interior decoration is also very pleasant. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook, and 2 fridges available for storing your food. There is a large living room for working or relaxing with an excellent internet connection. It's a good value for money. I highly recommend this hostel 100%.

Excellent location with spacious rooms and common areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with lots of storage space. Luis was a very kind, considerate host.

One member of the cleaning staff was very rude, and there are some long-term guests who are a bit odd…

The hostel is fantastic. Really close to the center of the city and to the beach. It’s clean, bright, full of optionals : living room, tv, kitchen etc etc. My room was big, comfortable and I loved it. The owner is a very great man. He is friendly, helpful and can help you with everything. He is a very nice person. The please is awesome! Recommend!!!!!!

Kitchen was not so tidy, has a lot of people living there that seemed they dont care to wash their dishes and leave stuff laying around

The room was a bit cold, but maybe because the windows were open and the temperature outside was low at that time. The mattress was soft, but I slept comfortably.

Staff was 10/10. We messed up both the check in and check out times and were treated with nothing but kindness and understanding. They stayed up late for us to check in, and even offered us to extend our stay in some other room when we didn't check out on time Definitely booking again if we ever come back. Can't believe we got this value for our money.

A value for money hostel, an apartment in an old seafront town house, with plenty of bathrooms and decent-sized dormitories. Well-equipped kitchen, lounge, and designated smoking area.

A few minor maintenance issues, but generally in good state. Some control over use of kitchen might be encouraged - it seems that few guests bother to tidy up after themselves and some hog the saucepans with big mixes, leaving only small pans for anyone else to use. I stayed a second night and saw no evidence of a clean up in the kitchen.
