Good service and very friendly staff. Rooms are spacious, well soundproofed, and nicely decorated. Good breakfast.

The hotel should get rid of the carpet in the rooms - it accumulates a lot of dust. My bathroom had a door to the outside and the insulation was not very good so altough the room temperature was good, the bathroom was always colder. 1 day the turkish bath was not working and in the end it was simply because someone had forgorten to turn it on. Impossible to get a table for dinner at the restaurant without booking it in advance.

This is a beautiful hotel with some amazing features - going from the beautiful carved wood to the modern sculptures in the garden. It is all very impressive and creates a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. Everybody we met was very helpful and cheerful. Our room looked out over the garden and was a very large room with a really good sized bathroom. Thankfully, because we arrived in a heatwave, the room had air conditioning. We had a very good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. We took advantage of the outdoor pool which was a real bonus and very clean with plenty of sun loungers. We did not try the Spa or the restaurant for evening meal but we did have breakfast and that was a buffet style with plenty of choice. All in all it was a very restful stay and we left with our batteries recharged.

Location is superb. Very close to the Conimbriga site, the most extensive Roman remains in Portugal. Parking at the front of the hotel. Spacious lobby and very helpful staff. Our room was spacious and clean, with all the facilities you'd expect from a high-class hotel. The indoor pool area and sauna, etc, was brilliant. Did not try the outside pools in January!! Food was very good (choice and quality) without being exceptional. The staff in all areas of the hotel were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Maybe I got a good deal, but I considered our 3 night stay to be superb value for money. We will definitely be going back.

Very good stay, friendly staff and quiet location. The hotel was very nice, albeit you could tell a refurbishment is needed in the medium term. The room was pleasant but there was some tear on the furniture and curtains, nothing that impacts the comfort obviously, but it's just for appearances sake.

The only thing I did not like was the mattress, it was very hard and springy, perhaps when a refurbishment is indeed carried out new mattresses need to be installed. Spring mattresses in 2025 are very uncomfortable, other than that the hotel was amazing.

The bed was very comfortable.Food in the restaurant very good.Staff delightful.Great garden view from our 2nd floor room.The hotel is very close to the centre of town so easy walking distance.Good parking at the front of the building.

Our room was noisy being close to the lift.You could hear people walking about in the room above and using the bathroom next door.The bathroom was tired with rusty fan vent and paint peeling off the door and the carpet in the room was wrinkled and well used.Also no tea or coffee making facilities in the room,although a small bottle of wine and 2 glasses was provided. I also found the room heating quite noisy during the night.

Stepping into this Hotel was stepping into elegance and class. Friendly staff to welcome us on arrival. Free, on site parking. The front lawn was well maintained with a fabulous swimming pool. The room provided dressing gowns and slippers and a welcome tray of little biscuits. Wifi good and a large spacious bathroom with shower over bath. We recommend this property. This would be a great accommodation for some quality time with your partner. Thank you.

There wasn't a hot water kettle/jug and cups in the room for a hot drink. Although there is a restaurant and bar on site to get a refreshment.

Charming premises, wonderful views, excellent restaurant - catering also for vegetarians. Amazing breakfast buffet! Staff very friendly and helpful, giving very excellent advice about food and wine choices. Enjoyed the massages offered in SPA facilities. Excellent location to visit Conimbriga roman villa site as well as the local museum on Romans, which is perfect for kids, but also has lot to offer for adults.

The staff was extremely helpful. We were allowed to enjoy the spa after checking out on our second day. The restaurant was open after our concert for ala carte delicious food. The sauna in the spa was very hot.

Our room did not have the large double bed we had requested, but that was quickly remedied. Fire false alarms in middle of the night were upsetting. The hot tub in the spa was not hot. The desk clerk explained that we had experienced their first concert event and that the staff was not ready for the large influx of patrons. He promised that next time would be much better.

+ Nice location, within walking distance of the centre of town. + Friendly and helpful reception staff. + Very pragmatic and helpful housekeeping staff who came up with the perfect solution to my light problem... We had a street-side room on the ground floor. Curtains let through a lot of light, something that could - in the longer-term - easily be remedied by placing simple (rolling?) blinds on the windows. When I mentioned this, after a (short) first night, a very kind lady in housekeeping worked with the lady at reception and ensured our room was totally dark from the 2nd night of our stay onwards. Both ladies deserve a medal for the cheerful and pragmatic way they completely solved this issue. Muito obrigado!

- Too much light coming into the room during the night. See above comments in the +ve section. - Breakfast staff might just manage a welcoming smile or other greeting, for every 2nd or 3rd guest... - Breakfast area can be a bit cramped when the hotel is full(er). Fine on quiet days.

Absolutely amazing service! Excellent staff! Starting from the warm welcome and willingness to accomodate all our needs at the reception, the small attentions in the room - biscuits & wine, to the service in the restaurant! Top notch! Lovely little wellness area, fabulous dinner. High quality products and coffee for breakfast. The views over the lawn were also very nice. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel wasn't recently renovated, but it covers up for that in charm. The only thing I didn't like, is that we only stayed one night.
