The breakfast was super good. The bread when you toast it it would melt in your mouth, so good! They have a nice variety and very well presented :) The staff was very friendly and it is located 15min walking from the centre. One day rained so much but they lend us umbrellas and that saved our day.

The sink in our bathroom was so tiny that washing my face every day was impossible not to make a mess, but not all the rooms are the same. Our room was a bit humid and had some humidity in one wall, but Porto in general I believe has this issue because lots of buildings are built with granite and that is very porous. It is not a big issue for us and I understand that must be a fight owners suffer, but I included in case that this might be an issue for someone else.

The Boavista Guest house is in a great location to stay while visiting Porto. The metro station is only a few minutes walk away. It is close to the city centre and all its attractions. This is our third time staying there, and we will stay there again next time we visit. We had an early flight home and they obliged us by giving us an early breakfast. This was highly appreciated. The Guest house is spotless and the staff could not do enough for us. The overall experience was outstanding and we look forward to our next stay there. A nice touch was the complimentary glass of Port on arrival.

Nothing as everything was top class.

The first thing is how well we were looked after - all the staff we met were consistently friendly and helpful. The use of space is excellent and how it's presented. Our room itself was bijou but everything in it was of very good quality and very comfortable - fabulous shower for instance. I loved the ceramic wall art. We used the terrace which was a lovely place for some fresh air during the day, and especially in the evening before settling down for the night. The breakfast had a great selection, and they serve a splendid Vinho do Porto & tonic from the bar. Lots of excellent eating places nearby, away from the touristy areas.

Nothing. The Boavista Guesthouse doesn't claim to be a hotel so I didn't expect extensive hotel facilities.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and fresh, quality breakfast. Access to the terrace (if the weather permits). Affordable price.

The room was small and didn't have any desk or table, so bear that in mind if you plan to work at the hotel. The wifi quality was poor especially in the evenings, I sometimes had to use my hotspot even for basic web browsing (no online calls streaming, etc.). Overall, I did enjoy the breakfast, but the selection is quite limited (and more on the sweet/fruity side; no warm dishes), so it can get a bit repetitive if you're staying longer.

Lovely guesthouse. 15 min walk into the centre so not too bad but two fantastic restaurants next door and opposite - the best in City. Clean, comfortable and a 24 hour helpful reception.

Water in the room on first day only - that’s ok but I don’t like dirty glasses left in the room which stayed for three days (we could have taken them to the kitchen I suppose). Also I don’t like my towels changed daily but left them on the floor on the third day - they were removed but not replaced! Small things really

The staff was so friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome from start to finish. The rooms looked really nice and we really like the terrace for a late-night cooldown.

The pillows and the bed weren't to our taste, but that being said, we really like firm mattresses and pillows. Our neighbours also wanted to take showers after midnight a couple of times, this was quite loud. The breakfast was okay but a bit too much of sweet options compared to savoury.

Loved Carla and her help. She was a guide, a friend and a piece of light in the night when we arrived. The service as a whole was impeccable. Water to drink and a little taste of Porto was complimentary and a really charming gesture. The room was clean, adorable and essential to what we needed. The nice terrace is common to everybody and you can eat breakfast or have some food. Was the best experience in a hotel after a long time, having traveled to Bruxelles, UK, Cornwall, France and Italy. It also is really near the city centre!!

If I need to be picky. The only thing I didn't love was the metal skirting board cover on the angles of the walls. I injured myself having to wake up in the night to go to the bathroom and stepped on it as there was a little space between the bed and the wall. The metal part is so sharp that it cuts the skin really easily, I know is meant to protect the wall but the person is important too :) but this is really the only different thing it happened from the extraordinary trip we had.

Staff were so so lovely and helpful. Location was excellent - 3 minutes to the metro and 20 minute walk to the main town. Loved the minimalist style, very stylish.

Just a little bit of a pet peeve but my double bed was two single beds pushed together. I understand that hotels do this for flexibility with rooms, but the bed did come apart during the night and I had specifically requested a double bed. As I was on the top floor I couldn’t take the lift the whole way to the top - this isn’t a problem for me but for someone with mobility difficulties it might be worth flagging this.

The staff were exceptionally nice, very comfortable and clean rooms. It is a little out of the way - so a good 20min walk into the centre and another 10mins to get to the waterfront so as long as you are fit, it's OK.

The only issue is the upstairs rooms and terrace is next to a restaurant so on the final night there was a big party there and it was very loud going on beyond midnight. I assume this wouldn't be a problem midweek.
