very good staff and rooms design, perfect breakfast.

We had a balcony, but it was dirty and has no any chair or table: so, totally unusable and it is very strange… Shampoo and gel seems were combined with water, so almost not usable or you need to spell more. No kettle, so in 4 stars hotel you can’t make a tea or coffee… very strange. anyway, it’s good hotel and I can advise. only a few points to be improved and will be amazing.

This is a boutique hotel tucked away about a 30-minute walk from Riberia Square. It is very elegant and has a nice restaurant with a lovely little courtyard attached. It is very clean and modern. The room was small, but the bathroom was large, and the shower, sink, etc. were excellent. We had specified a balcony room, which was great to have a view onto the street and neighborhood. The interior parking was limited, but we managed to find a spot which made it much easier to take our luggage to our room. The breakfast was excellent as was all the food we ate at the restaurant. All the staff were great and particularly thanks to Beatrice for her friendly, excellent service. The hotel neighborhood, while a bit run down, has its own charm with plenty of small shops, restaurants, and one nice larger grocery store, Auchan Supermercado, a 5 min walk. We walked to Riberia Square almost every day and grew to enjoy the walk through the neighborhoods and get a sense of life in Porto away from the tourist areas. We often walked back late at night and never felt uncomfortable or unsafe.

We first got to the hotel at night after a long drive up from Lisbon, having arrived that morning from Canada. We missed the hotel on our first try and ended up parking down the street and walking up. The street is somewhat run down and empty buildings etc. So we were somewhat trepedacious about our hotel choice at that point. However, when we found the hotel entrance which was bright and elegant, we felt reassured and from then on very comfortable. So don't be discouraged by the street. The street is busy during the day if you spend any time in your room, but not a big deal.

Breakfast was adequate but not as good as other hotels we have stayed at. The menu for lunch/evening was ok but lacked choice overall. Staff in the restaurant and bar were friendly, helpful and attentive, particularly Alexander who could not do enough for us. The bar was well stocked with all our favourite drinks. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and quiet. Good room size and balcony looking out over east Porto. The hotel was within walking distance of the centre of Porto (about 30 mins), good restaurants were available within 1km (15 min walk) and one of Porto's main train stations (Campanha) within a 5 min walk which was great for our trip from Lisbon to Porto and other sightseeing trips to Braga and Guimaraes. The nearest Porto metro station, Heroismo, is a few minutes walk from the hotel. For those who don't want to walk there is a taxi call point in reception. The hotel arranged our final taxi trip to the airport which was good value for money. There is a little park within a 10 min walk (Aguas do Porto) full of trees and interesting fountains and a great view over the Douro. The 207 bus stops almost outside the hotel and can take you into central Porto or as far as Foz.

The area around the hotel appeared to be shabby at first sight but we soon realised that this was not untypical of much of central Porto. We did feel safe, however, walking to and from the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Oca Oriental Porto Hotel. The room was located on the 4th floor and was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The entire hotel felt tidy and organized, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Their professionalism and warm attitude added a lot to the overall experience. Although the hotel is not located in the very center of Porto, it’s in a quiet area with excellent public transport connections. There are bus stops right next to the hotel, and buses run frequently, getting you to the city center in just a few minutes. The metro station is also within walking distance, but we found the bus service so efficient that we didn’t need to use it. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant — delicious food at a reasonable price, with great service. The breakfast buffet was another highlight: a rich selection of cold cuts, cheeses, drinks, local Portuguese sweets, coffee, and hot dishes. Every morning ate something different, so it never got repetitive. There were no issues during our stay, and although the price was slightly above average, the quality of service, cleanliness, and comfort made it absolutely worth it. We would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for couples looking for a peaceful location with easy access to the city, great food, and excellent service.

We arrived having booked two rooms for myself and my wife, the other room for my wife's brother, whom we were visiting for the first time in five years that he had lived in Portugal. He could not make it due to his concern over the fires that were raging in close proximity to his house. Both staff members who were on reception (Joanne) were sympathetic and said they would see if we could cancel his room without charge due to the situation . The manager duly agreed and waivered the charge. We also had a room upgraded due to my room request being unavailable. We were very grateful, and the room was superb. Breakfast was fabulous, lots to choose from. We had dinner on our second night, which again was superb. All staff were always smiling and asking if everything was alright with our stay. Check in and out a breeze. Would definitely stay again if I visit Porto.

One thing was the time it took to get a drink at the bar as the staff member seemed to be covering the dining room as well, which made it busier for him. Small issue, but he was pleasant and attentive when serving my drinks.

Exceptional value for money, this hotel is both clean and highly comfortable. A decently sized room with a supportive bed and a spacious, modern bathroom. The hotel provides secure indoor parking for just 9 euros per day and offers a well-rounded breakfast for only 10 euros per person. While the location is outside the city centre, I recommend avoiding driving your own car into the old town due to congestion and limited parking. Instead, consider taking the train or metro. We opted for taxis, which are remarkably affordable—each ride cost us approximately 6 euros. This approach proved both efficient and stress-free.

Lovely hotel! I live locally but have a big work project and a deadline looming so I decided to book a couple of nights here as it's close to my favourite cafe, and it was a wonderful stay! I had a balcony room which was a pleasant surprise, and the room was much bigger than I was expecting from the photos. Bed was super comfy, room was very clean with a spacious bathroom and I would've loved to have stayed one more night but they were fully booked! I would definitely stay here again. The staff were also really friendly and helpful.

I will say the soundproofing isn't super great and you do hear a lot of noise at times from the corridor, but it wasn't so bad that it disrupted my time there too much, or would deter me from staying again.

Everything was great. It was further out of the touristy part of town, but it suited us as it was only 5 mins walk to the train station and we were only stopping over. We could still walk to the centre of town though. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were fabulous. We arrived early about 10.30am, with no expectation of getting our room early, but we were in by 11am. Even if we couldn't get in, they were more than happy to store our luggage.

Only one small thing. The cups provided in the room were too small for tea and there was no milk provided, but we were able to get both downstairs without a problem. I would suggest having a small milk provided as there is a fridge or long life single serve. Also, two extra cups (larger) for tea would be great.

Good location for the Campanha bus and train station.. slightly uphill from the station but very doable on foot. Good looking hotel, breakfast was very good... but in hindsight there's enough cafes around to save yourself some euros by having it elsewhere. Air-con and very roomy bathroom. Complimentary bottle of water is always a nice touch. Close to metro station which takes you many places in Porto.

One small note is that you had to ask reception for toiletries such as cotton pads or toothpaste, they were not in the room. Only soap/shampoo on arrival.
