One of the the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. Rooms/apartments are spacious, modern and clean. Restaurant dishes were all amazing (time for every meal was long but food was outstanding), bar drinks were really good. Staff and attention was the best we’ve got in a long time, super dedicated in every single way to make your stay better. We traveled with our baby who got pampered in every occasion, from a Tent on our room to chairs and attention in every spot we went. Kids playground is like Disney for them. We are more of beach people and the service on the beach was great, even being able to enjoy the food truck on our last day instead of having to go back to the hotel for lunch. Property is still under a lot of construction but very very beautiful. If you want to have a over the top escape in Algarve this might be the right place to do so.

Nothing we didn’t like, only that as hotel has just opened there are details to still improve but staff was extremely open to feedback, how can they improve and what is missing every single day.

A little gem in Eastern Algarve. There are currently 50 apartments/houses which are complete and the plan is for around 300 plus a hotel by 2025. All very new and to a very high standard. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was extremely comfortable, clean and had lovely decor. The restaurant, pools and sports complex are ready for when the project is finished. So plenty of seating, pool beds and space. The beach is only a 5/10 minute walk along the boardwalks but there are free bikes to use if you want to. From what we saw the sports complex consists of a football pitch, plus tennis and paddle courts. There is also a children's club and 2 pools. One I think is adult only. They offer activities on the beach including Kayaking, Hobie cats, sailing and paddle boarding. We went at the end of the summer season so quieter than usual. The staff were extremely helpful at all times and very professional. A special thank you to Lucy and also the whole team for making our experience at Verdelago and also our 25th Wedding Anniversary so memorable.

Beautiful Hotel and surroundings. Great breakfast and restaurants. Good restaurants close to the beach in walking distance. If you are looking for a very chill vacation it is the perfect place to be. Very children friendly. Some little treats in the room were a pleasant surprise.

Even though there were six of us staying in the townhouse, we were only provided with two sunbeds and one umbrella at the beach free of charge. Additionally, the water and coffee supplied for the room were as if only two people were staying there.

Location, staff, amenities, safety, beach. Pretty much everything is PERFECT.

The food was ok, but clearly below average for a 5 star - I would expect a lot more for the prices (eg the burger was mediocre at best, other dishes were average). Breakfast was great though. There were ants and ants with flies in one of the bedrooms and the other bedroom bed cover was littered with hairs from other stays. The staff solved the second issue but I had to solve the first one. The construction next door was present and the noise was always there - perhaps why we were given a free upgrade.

Beautiful resort in a beautiful setting, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One of the best facilities were the bikes and being able to cycle around the resort. Such a great idea! We all enjoyed our massages in the wellness domes. The beds were very comfy and the apartment had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing.

Cannot fault the hospitality although sometimes the service from the pool bar was a bit on the slow side (it was quiet when we visited so wonder if it would be even slower when busier). The beach bar seemed empty yet turned us away for lunch and disappointing it wasn’t open later (closed around 6.30pm). The roof top only seemed to open once during our 4 night stay and that was for a private function. Still waiting for the champagne glasses in our room!

This was our second time at Verdelago Resort, and once again, we were not disappointed. Usually, when we return to a place, it doesn’t meet expectations, but Verdelago made us feel just as welcome as the first time. Diago gave us a warm greeting when we arrived late. The accommodation was spacious, very clean, and the furniture was in great condition. The entire resort was spotless, and the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling, discreet, and quick. A huge thanks to them! There were some construction works in the background, but they didn’t bother us at all. We enjoyed the breakfast—everything was fresh. While it may not be extravagant for some, the selection is thoughtful and mostly local. Compared to last time, they now offer more warm dishes, which fits well with the resort’s focus on sustainability. A huge breakfast with half going to waste wouldn’t fit with their concept. Sergio welcomed us warmly every day, making the mornings perfect. The resort’s app makes everything practical and manageable. The new beach club is stunning and definitely worth a visit, and the new beach loungers complete the experience. We highly recommend it, and we will be back!

I loved the setting of the hotel, the location, the room. The pool area was very nice. Very close to a beautiful beach, I loved that we could cycle around the hotel and all the way to the beach. There are bikes everywhere and you can just take it and drop it off wherever you like to. I loved the tranquility, it was very quiet, perfect place to relax. It felt never crowded even if the hotel was full. The breakfast was amazing with many different options (also healthy options). I did yoga twice in the morning and for me that was just the top, perfect start of the day. I am practicing yoga so I wasn’t expecting a lot but the yoga teacher was very experienced and very sweet. Except from the inexperienced staff and average food, everything was amazing and I could definitely come back!

I didn’t like the unprofessional service. For a 5 star hotel we were expecting staff with experience and not junior inexperienced stuff with no idea about what they were doing. They all seemed unbothered and didn’t bother to smile or be friendly and polite. We had to wait long time to get coffee, water and so on, even if they didn’t looked busy. Most of them didn’t speak English. Of course there are exceptions like Barbara was very sweet and always smiling. The girl in the reception, forgot her name was also very professional. The food, except the breakfast which was amazing , was just average and very pricey. We ended up eating outside of the hotel.

They had bicycles to use within the Property and outside They had their own private beach which could be accessed via bikes, which we thought was really cool The villa we booked was super comfortable and had EVERYTHING we could need! Very modern fixtures and fittings and you can tell there was great attention to details The food was amazing ! Room service was 100%

There was this unpleasant smell that came from our air conditioner which wasn’t fixed. It was on and off and they couldn’t fix it.

Breakfasts were pretty amazing, great choice. There were amazing sports facilities - tennis, football pitch, beach volleyball. The design of the place was fabulous and the cleaning servis of high standard. The beach was stunning. Throughout the resort you could move on a bike, which was both fun and useful. And the smell of pine trees was amazing.

To my surprise most of the staff did not understand English. There were few staff members with excellent English, however most of them did not understand. Also the table servis at the restaurant was pretty slow, which was disappointing. The quality of food in the restaurant, except breakfast, was mediocre.

**Resort Review: A Mixed Experience** I recently had the opportunity to stay at a new modern 5-star resort, and while the experience had its highlights, there were notable downsides that affected the overall enjoyment of our stay. The resort itself is stunning. The newly built houses are beautifully designed with a modern aesthetic that seamlessly blends luxury and comfort. Each house is spacious, well-appointed, and offers all the amenities one would expect from a high-end resort. The surrounding area is equally impressive, with lush landscaping, well-maintained grounds, and a serene ambiance that provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The beach was undoubtedly the highlight of the stay. It was pristine, with soft, white sand and crystal-clear waters that made for an idyllic setting. Whether lounging under an umbrella or taking a dip in the ocean, the beach offered a tranquil and refreshing experience that was hard to beat. Unfortunately, the resort’s service fell significantly short of expectations. The staff, while polite, were poorly trained and struggled with basic tasks. Orders were frequently forgotten or mixed up, it was no room service to poolside drinks were unreasonably long. Communication was another major issue, as many of the staff members had a limited command of English, leading to misunderstandings and frustration. The check-in process was particularly problematic. It was slow and disorganized, with long lines and a lack of clear communication from the front desk. This initial hiccup set a disappointing tone for the rest of the stay. Despite these issues, the resort manager was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. They were attentive and genuinely tried their best to address the problems we encountered. However, it was clear that the staff needed much more training to meet the standards expected at a 5-star establishment.
