Great size of property. Great welcome service. Excellent pool area combined with a very good pool side dinning area. Quite with plenty of pool side loungers that did not require queuing ( perhaps the days we were there were quiet days ? ). Good experience overall, nice touch by Monte Rei to notice my birthday based on my passport ( Thank you ). The pool side dinning, Veranda, was very good and we ate there twice.

The main bathroom shower area needed more cleaning attention, black growth around the bottom of shower and along the wall tiles. Not pleasant to look, at or shower in. Location is a bit more of the beaten track and you definitely need car to get around. Only 2 places to eat ( 3rd one is Michelin so not for every day eating ). The Grill we found disappointing on our first day, salad was bland consisting of some boiled vegetables. No dressing or taste. So avoided it for rest of our stay. The menu is same week in/week out as far as I could see so choice very limited. Wifi was very poor. Router located in locked metal box is not going to help with wifi distribution.

Staff very friendly, especially the female Maitre D and male sommelier in Vistas andCarolina/Lina in the Veranda restaurant. Golf and breakfast staff very helpful

Resort very quiet and limited options for non-golfers, should have steps from end of accommodation block to path leading to Veranda and signposting to and through Veranda poor

Well finished apartments with all trimmings

There are limited dining options 2 were open when we stayed. the Main restaurant was not open for the season yet during Easter week. Tavira town about 20min drive is a better option.

The picture of the Villa on booking.com shows an attached pool whereas in reality there is no attached pool. We thought this was misleading.

Fantastic villa with 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. It was very expensive and a fairly long drive to anything, but it was very nice. The golf course was excellent - very hilly and tricky and fairly long. There was a very good break in the golf price by staying at Monte Rei.

Just the price!

The wifi was appualing. An essential part of any service for a Villa costing that much. Airocon broke on our last day. The issue was a maintenance, not a broken part, as it flashes up on the screen what the issue is.

Villa was excellent. Facilities in general were very good.

Vistas restaurant only offered a prix fixe tasting menu which was very expensive and full of "unusual" dishes that were not our favorite type of food. Plus took almost 3 hours. In fairness, we did not peruse the description or menu so we shoud have known better but would avoid in the future. Also, grill was average at best for appetizers. Lastly, golf course is a great layout but in disappointingly neglected shape. Greens were weedy, fairways patchy, carts older, pro shop woefully under stocked. All bad signs pointing to a lack of resources that makes us question long-term viability.

Fabulous location, lovely staff, gorgeous villas and pool. Very quiet spot and not too full of tourists, so we felt very pampered. Food was delicious, without exception, both at the breakfast and at the restaurants.

The food was a little expensive. Location was a little remote.
