We stayed at 'Hotel 81 Palace' for a couple of nights. It is situated at a convenient location in Geylang, Singapore. Though it's situated within the Red Light District, we didn't face any issues. The surroundings are not very clean, but the hotel premise is clean & its interior is modern. It is situated close to a bus stop, hence accessing attractions through buses is easier. It will take around 10-15 minutes to walk from the nearest MRT station (Aljunied) to the hotel. There are multiple restaurants close to the hotel & a self-wash laundry. The receptionist was welcoming & the check-in process was smooth. We had to pay extra for a 9 AM check-in (which is quite reasonable). The Standard Queen Room we booked was on an upper floor and it was accessible by an elevator. The room was very small & had just enough space to keep our luggage. It was clean & had good lighting. The room was equipped with a table, a cupboard, an electric kettle & a television. The bathroom was clean and hot water worked without an issue. We could also refill our water bottles through a tap which supplied potable water to each room. Towels, soap & amenities were available. Room service was available throughout the stay. Overall, it was a good stay in Singapore.

The room was very nice, quiet, modern and comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to plenty of food places, markets and public transport. I think the hotel itself is good value for money, when you consider how expensive Singapore is.

It's not located in the nicest or best area, and there is definitely a vibe in the neighbourhood. But I found people on the street and neighbouring properties to be respectful and not overly pushy (when compared to other cities in the region). Stay with an open mind.

What was there was clean and reception was nice

Area is red light district and j was disturbed by somebody enjoying their night. Whole level coud hear it, walls are nonexistent. I witnessed abuse by some gangsta outside.

For Singapore the price is what I liked, plus I like Geyland for the food at the golden mile restaurant and the hawker centre which is only a 2km walk away or the street stalls just up the road. It's close to the MTR and by taxi half way between the Gardens and Changi. Room was clean, about normal size for that price range in Singapore, air con was good and lucky I like a very firm bed. Staff helpful and polite. I'd stay again.

A little bar fridge is about all that is needed to make it real value for money.

I like how this hotel feels like a 5star! the place is small you really have to be wise in where youre gonna put your luggages but price wise the place is exceptional and clean!! You can ask hotel sleepers also if its not provided in the room.

The location is in geylang which is outside is kinda red district but just dont mind it! Its near to bus stop and food stalls!! Local food is near!!

Location is superb . Very clean . Easy access to public transport .

They failed to reply my mails . I asked information regarding transport before I go to Singapore . On our first day therefore we faced so many troubles . They didn't give proper directions. After that they helped to find public transport. That's the only " bad " thing . But I recommend it as a good hotel .

small but convenient for my need

didn't like the Wi-Fi arrangement, every time I leave the room and remove my door key, internet and Wi-Fi cuts off. Wi-Fi should be made accessible everywhere within the hotel. Had difficulty when i leave the room to book a taxi or grab the Wi-Fi goes off. That was frustrating

This hotel is located in between two busstops nearby. The metrostation is just 10 minutes walking. It is a very safe neighborhood, allthough it is the red light area in the evening and night. No problem, you can easily pass by and enter the hotel. No one will approse you. The staff is very kindly and willing to help you. For example, you can ask for more towels, if you need them. A lot of restaurants and shops are also nearby. And the bus and metro take both a short time to bring you to the hotspots. I appreciate this hotel. It is worth the price during the stay.

It was not a problem for us. But you have to realise that you may have booked a small room. I used one suitcase to be opened during our stay. The other one remained closed.

The staff was amazing! helping me to find a place where to buy some food (the restaurants are local and the majority they do not speak English)

It is situated in an 'Adult sex entertainment", I felt a little bit insecure walking around but a staff from the Hitel accompanied me to the local restaurant to buy some food The hotel does not have a restaurant or even a machine to buy water 9important for tourists that we are nor drinking from the tap)

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful during our stay, everything was a smooth process from checking in to out. Rooms are decently clean, some towels had odd stains but can be quickly swapped out. Rooms can be adjusted to be nice and cold which is vital considering how hot and humid the weather can be.

The area was a red light district... travelling with a large group of young girls and finding this out later from taxi drivers was a terrible surprise... I do not blame the property however! The location is also quite a few mins away from the nearest MRT station, but fine as long as you do not mind those little details.
