The location is fantastic, 20min walk from Gare Du Nord, 15min from the Old City taking you past and through the centre of Bucharest, slightly the main track (100m) making it very quiet. Breakfast was typically European with lots of fresh choice. Rooms are spacious and clean, fresh coffee machine, and mini frdige in the room, beds very comfortable or mine was. Bedding and towels changed daily. Reception is modern and fresh, with pleasant staff, even at a 3am check out.

The air conditioning was a little noisey and I couldn't get it to cool the room as much as I like so I opened the window, not an issue as the area is very quiet.at night. Carpets are a little old, but they were clean, and the room spotless But if that's all there is to discuss, it's a very fair hotel priced very reasonably.

There’s a lot to like about this hotel. I read many reviews of hotels in old town that talked about the noise from bars till early morning. Hotel Berthelot is just off a major street, but is so much quieter! The location worked well for me to walk to numerous sights, and there are many choices for food, drink and groceries in the area. Breakfast was fantastic, a large selection every morning and attentive staff. I do not understand how anyone could complain about this breakfast buffet! And having an elevator is helpful.

There was a small refrigerator in my room, which I planned to use for water, Pepsi and food. I discovered quickly that it only works when the electricity is on - which is only when the key in the slot at the door. I still had a few things in it when I left one day, and came back to see housekeeping had unplugged it. What is the point of having a refrigerator if you cannot use it?? Especially as housekeeping clearly didn’t check to see if there was food in it. There is also no electric kettle. A nice coffee maker (with exactly one pod), but no ability to heat water later in the day for tea. Having an electric kettle and actually being able to use the fridge would improve the experience.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect—right in the city center, within walking distance of all major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making my stay even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Carmine at the reception—she was incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile. Her recommendations for local places to visit were spot-on, and she truly made me feel welcome. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bucharest. I will definitely return on my next trip!

The location is excellent, within walking distance of tourist attractions. The staff is friendly, the premises and bathroom are clean, and the mattresses comfortable. All in all, a good balance between money and the conditions offered.

The covers were not large enough for a person taller than 1.70-1.80 meters. They should also provide a thicker option suitable for winter. Breakfast – the bread was not fresh, and the coffee was of mediocre quality. The hotel was nice and comfortable, but it does not really meet the standards of a 4-star hotel – signs of wear and tear are visible.

Excelent breakfast and accomodation.

We had a 1 night stay, we booked for 2 adults and one child (5 years), and did't get an extra bed for the child. They assumed that we'll sleep togheter even we booked for 2 and 1 and was told that they always prepare a extra bad and majority of the people declines them. I considered that it would be normal to offer me the bad, and leave it to my decision if i need it or not. Asked them for an extra bed (40 euro) but was told that the house keeping is closed and there is nobody who cand bring me that extra bed, and a bed for a small child is to small for my 5 year kid. It is mentioned that the bad is prepared upon request, but when i'm booking and request accomodation anywhere else for 3, everybody prepares for 3. Didn't read carefully all of the indications when they confirmed me.

For breakfast there was plenty of choice though the scrambled eggs were best if you came down early - they seemed to put out enough for the whole breakfast so later were not fresh.

They at first gave me a single room so had to return to the reception desk and pointed out that I had both reserved a double room and was paying for a double room - they did upgrade the room but got no real apology from the person on front desk nor so far from the hotel for the mistake. For this reason I doubt I would use this hotel again next time I return to Bucuresti

Place is in proximity of public transport and close to nice parks. Small shops and small restaurant/bakeries are all around. It was all clean and everything was working well, breakfast was very good. There was bottle of water io the room and coffee machine with two fresh pods every day - a nice surprise.

To get there everyday with childs stroller is hard, since to get to entrance you need to take steep ramp/stairs down. Moreover there is no hand rail you can grab to save you from falling.

- Excelent and varied breakfast - Nice central location - Mostly clean room and communal spaces - Silent and relaxing ambiance. - The staff was welcoming and helpfull when needed.

- I got one of the 3 very small rooms, as seen on the floor plan ), but it was acceptable for 1 person. - Some of the flyers, menus, and other reusable stuff like "we protect nature" signs in the room were dirty. I suggest you clean them also when cleaning the rooms. Also, there was an empty water bottle in the wardrobe, which made me question the housecleaning quality.

There was a lot to like at the Berthelot. The room was quiet, a good size, and impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower pressure was perfect. The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices and was tasty. The location was near other things I wanted to see. I had asked for the shuttle and someone was at the airport when my flight got in. The staff were helpful and kind.

Larger bath towels would have been nice, but other than that, it was a great place to stay and very good value for money.

The hotel is in an excellent location. reasonable price. Everything is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is large and varied.

The hotel is not wheelchair accessible at all. Even older people who have difficulty walking will find it difficult to manage here because the shower is very small and there are many stairs at the entrance to the hotel without a handrail. Although there is an elevator, there are 2 steps to get to it and there are also 3 steps in the breakfast area. The shower was very small so an average person has to get in on his side and tack in his stomach. The staff was nice but there was a woman with blonde hair who was very rude and angry all the time.
