This was my second one-week stay in Atrium Hotel Ateneu over the past two months (July/August). Here's what I liked that made me a repeat customer: 1. Perfect Location. Great location in the Amezi neighborhood within short walking distance to Calea Victoriei and Bulevardul Magheru. Within this neighborhood, and at your fingertips, there are multiple restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, two grocery stores (Mega Image), coffee shops, pizza and gyro takeouts, and two Lebanese food restaurants. Right up the street, thee are three excellent ice cream/gelato outlets: Sweetology, Velocita and Gelateria Romero. Also, there is an excellent (and low price!) patisserie take-out right outside the main entrance, and the closest subway station Piata Romana is a short walk up the street. Can't beat this location! 2. Great Staff. The staff are friendly, helpful and laid back, giving this property a relaxed and homey atmosphere. Theodor, Flori and Raluca all did great jobs checking in/out, answering questions and giving recommendations. Special thanks to Flori for her multiple recommendstions of non-touristy places to check out! 3. Breakfast. Not overly elaborate, but a good variety of choices at a very reasonable price. 4. Coffee/tea hot water kettle in room. Perfect for frequent coffee/tea drinkers and much better than othet hotel-provided coffee makers, which frequently don't even work correctly. 5. Good Value for Price. Overall, I recommend Atrium/Ateneu for its excellent location, good value and friendly/helpful staff. I will book here again when visiting Bucharest.

1. Some street noise at night in rooms that have street-facing windows.. Not too excessive or a deal breaker. 2. Some door noise from hallway doors of other visitors. Not sure this can be fixed, since this is a function of how the doors close and the.marble hallway floors. Not too excessive or a deal breaker.

1. Very spacious room 2. Located in the center of Bucharest/area full of a great variety of food options - restaurants - fast foods. 3. Metro 300m and many bus-stops around 4. Supermarket next to the hotel 5. Breakfast was good only on the first day

1. Double bed was very small/two chubby people will definitely have a problem 2. Hot water for shower was running out quickly. For winter that is a disadvantage. 3. Breakfast on 1st day was good. On the second day they limited the variety and on the 3rd day surprisingly there were only a few basic things. That let us down because the difference between the days was big. 4. The guy at the reception should smile. He represents the image of the hotel. Raluca - the lady however was fantastic. Very helpful and smily. 5. Overall stay fair - value for money.

Comfortable rooms with all the amenities you need for your stay. The location is amazing!!! I selected this one as this is very close to the Atheneum and I am not disappointed. The building has that old world charm and it is just beautiful to look at. The staff are amazing and helpful, and it is very close to shops, cafes, restaurants, and groceries! Will definitely be back again!

I would love a coffee machine in the room, however, there is an amazing bakery / cafe just outside (which is one of the best bakeries in Bucharest) and their pastries are exceptional!!!

* The hotel's location was absolutely perfect. Being situated in the heart of Bucharest, in a historical building, added a charming touch to the stay. * The proximity to shops and attractions made it incredibly convenient to explore the city. * The breakfasts were delicious and offered a great variety of options. * The size of the room was very spacious, providing ample comfort.

My only disappointment was that the jacuzzi in my room was not working. This was a feature I was particularly looking forward to, so it was a bit of a letdown.

I stayed here for a two day visit to Bucharest. The hotel was a short walk from the airport bus stop and about a 20 minute walk to the old town. The room was very large and comfortable although a little dated. The bathroom was large and had a shower over the bath. This had good flow and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was quite varied although there were no fresh fruit juices - only bottled "drinks". This was a good base for a short break and was good value for money.

Great spot to explore Bucharest, everything at a walking distance: Calea Victoriei, Old Town, Ateneu etc. Nice and cosy place with great architecture, good breakfast, clean, comfortable, spatious. Good price for the area. Such a pity because everything was ruined by the incident.

The incident: "grace" of the incompetence of one guy from the reception and some bad-mannered guests who blocked the drive-way with their cars, we and another two guests have lost almost the entire day waiting, and waiting and waiting for them to come back to the hotel. Of course, we lost the next reservation and this delayed our entire holiday. 😡😞

Liked: 1. Excellent location in Amezi neighborhood. Close to shops, restaurants, metro station and Calea Victoriei. 2. Water kettle in room to make coffee/tea. 3. Comfortsble bed. 4. Friendly and helpful staff. 5. Good breakfast. 6. Large room. 7. Comfy and old world atmosphere. 8. Good value! 9. Laundry service if needed. 10. In-room safe.

Disliked: 1. Some noise at night from room facing street.

I loved the locations and the staff. The room made me feel like a Romanian princess with its high ceilings and beautiful wood framed windows that opened onto the entry courtyard. It was in a fabulous part of town near Piata Romana and the food, coffee and bars were amazing. The metro is a 7 min walk and I was easily able to get around. The staff were super responsive to messages and looked after my bags when I arrived early. Would definitely stay there again for value and character.

Nothing

I was really pleased by my stay here. Everything matched or exceeded the description given, (it would be clarifying in the description that the "room without view" does have windows, but around a well, rather than being entirely enclosed. Staff were friendly and efficient, facilities very good for the price, the included breakfast likewise, and the neighbourhood the hotel is in was unexpectedly great - not overrun by tourists, but still relatively central, near a metro stop, and with (at least) two really decent, reasonably priced eating places almost opposite. I would happily return here if I am in Bucharest again.

Only criticism? Not enough plug sockets in the room. I had to unplug the kettle in order to charge my phone, for example.

- the mattress was too hard for me - the light of the room was cool and did not fit the style of the room - a door from the shower was barely hanging on
