Good location, rooms tipical Ibis, good breakfast, public parking with fee 16 lei/day

I arrived in the evening of a hot day with temperatures of 35 degrees. When I entered the room, the air conditioner does not work (unless the card is inserted into the electrical network unlocking device). What's more, the balcony door is open so that all the 35 degrees outside can enter the room. I wanted some cold water. The refrigerator is also non-functional. Remote control from the climate with discharged batteries. The room did not cool down until morning. This is to see how pro-client oriented the hotel staff / system is.

The services provided by Ibis Galati was great! The hotel itself is nice, the room was quite big. We traveled with the dog and we liked that hotel is friendly for pets. Breakfast has different kinds of food, so guests has choice. Personal showed high level! Everyone was attentive to the guests needs. Danube is quite near by and there are nice places to go around the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and appreciate the hospitality. If we travel to Galati again we’ll stay in Ibis only!

Perfect location, right in the city center.

No parking, you have to search around the hotel and the most annoing thing is that you can pay only until 8 am in the morning. But the receptionists first question was about the parking and she informed us we can leave our plate number at the desk and they will pay for us first thing in the morning. Which they did. The ammunt is 2,5 euros for the day. Very noisy, we woke up early because of the traffic noise.

Everything was great, besides the issue of our reimbursement. There was a lot of back and forth in order to establish the manner by which we would be able to receive a refund. Only after speaking with the fourth person did we get to a resolution that we may be refunded if it was requested/approved by Booking.com

The foreign staff were amazing, Irusha and the other Singhalese. However when you press any matter to a local Romanian, they start to show the stereotypical Eastern European manners and behavior as perceived by an American (which in my experience is unpleasant and unaccomodating).

I love my stay at Ibis, everything was perfect. However at some point the water in the bathroom was smelling kinda bad and I don’t know but I figured it was a general problem with water infrastructure rather than a problem in the room. The place was peaceful, really nice and will definitely be back!

A small minus is that the evening staff is barely speaking romanian … and thir english is not very well too. On the other hand, very welcoming people!

The hotel is a very good choice for this price. It's located in a central location, a lot of cafes and a nice park is nearby. The room was quite small but enough for 2 ppl, well equipped for a short term stay. We also enjoyed the breakfast, it's included in price and they offer a variety of options. I would recommend Ibis as a nice place to stay at any location all over the world actually!

The hotel is very well positioned in the city centre and at a walk distance from the Danube’s river sidewalk. The first touch with the hotel premises is the parking which is not at all free of charge but it belongs to the municipality and yes, it is free to park from 8 PM to 8 AM, otherwise you may try to park to the nearby hotel which indeed has a free parking. I was surprised to be kindly asked to pay upfront at check in instead of checkout but I can fully understand why. The room is surprisingly clean considering that from the outside the hotel does not look too appealing. I was welcomed with a cheese cake left on my desk with a very nice welcome note. Very nice indeed. The overall aspect of the room is pleasant. I found the mattress to be very comfortable. Bathroom though is a bit too small and gives a sense of old in discordance with the room’s appealing note. It’s clean though so nothing too much to complain about. Breakfast was all right, with various options but nothing to praise about.

The only thing which I did not like was the AC machine which was noisy and impossible to use. I preferred to keep the window open despite having the risk of mosquitoes coming in. Probably it was just me unlucky.

The best thing about the hotel is the central location close to several good restaurants. The staff is very eager to please and I felt I got good value for money overall.

The reception and restaurant service area is located at the same place. For first time check-in this was confusing as I was not sure this is indeed the hotel. Some clearer signage will help.

Very nice rooms, good size, very clean, small balcony; breakfast very good; location excellent in the city center with small parc nearby if you need to walk your dog.
