As usual the hotel was very good and their Duty Manager Yunus did above and beyond to accommodate us with two rooms next to each other by upgrading us from Junior Suites to Larger Suites. However, having been here in 2018 for Hajj which is like a very busy season, one big difference was the buffet both breakfast and dinner which were very mediocre considering Marriott being a five star hotel (though from that point of view it looked pretty much a three star hotel). We stayed at Elaf Bakkah in Makkah which is a 3-star or 4 star hotel and had a much much larger and better menu on buffet for both breakfast and dinner compared to Marriott which was utterly disappointing. Overall Marriott needs to start their check in process a bit better too. If the check outs are scheduled at 12 pm then I don't see why or how the rooms cannot be prepared when people check in at 4pm. This is like massive time range for prep and yet again and again they don't prep. Last time on Hajj, we checked in at 10 pm and the rooms weren't ready (see - 12pm check out and 4pm check in and not ready at 10pm either) and there cannot be any excuse for why the rooms arent ready. Anyways, I will think twice before coming here next time, as spending 800 SAR on below mediocre dinner and overall vibes this time weren't great.

Breakfast and dinner menu was below mediocre, staff was not helpful nor courteous (actually borderline rude). Imagine one of the reception guy telling me "wait a second" and not coming back to me for 10 minutes. Oh yes, no "please" either no "sorry" either. No courtesy at all. Same was with the guy who checked us in at the reception, same with almost everyone on the reception desks. Courtesy training should be provided to them.

The hotel is in a good location, there are shuttle buses and golf carts which come every 5/10 minutes to drop you off to two different locations near the mosque. The rooms are spacious and were clean. Rooms were cleaned nicely when asked. Staff were nice. The cleaners would ask everyday if you need anything or if you want your room cleaned. You can also call the guest services if you need anything. The walk is about 5 minutes. You can also walk through Hilton Convention to avoid walking up the hill. They have 6 lifts for each tower, and these were not busy at all. We didn’t wait long for the lifts.

There is a big slope you have to walk up to get back to the hotel or to get to the golf carts. There are only two lifts to get to the buses, and these are always busy unless you go at off peak times. They have not finished work for the escalators yet. Unfortunately, there is no order when getting on the buses or golf carts, people do not care if you are old or have children. People will push past you to get on and the men will run on before you can get on, and there is no one managing this. There needs to be some sort of queuing system as it was genuinely ridiculous. The drivers will also ask to see your hotel cards on the golf carts but do not ask on the buses? So your bus may be full of people from the other hotel.

The staff service and the cleanliness of the room, particularly the work done by Mr. Ahad, were excellent. Also, the shuttle service was excellent.

The breakfast should be included within the price.

The staff were extremely helpful and well behaved especially the guest expert Tayyeb and Housekeeping boy Shakeel.

I didn’t like the fact that for a 5 star hotel in a place like Mecca there is no Swimming pool, steam, sauna, or jacuzzi. Pilgrims have to walk miles at the Makaat for Tawaf and walk uphill to get to the hotel, health clubs are must for all 5-Star hotels because this is what is expected from Marriot chains. Also hotel guests staying at other 5 star facilities had a buggy to take them to Masjid-Al-Haram, but Marriot didn’t seem like they had any such service.

The hotel requires that the guest name and credit card owner name must be the same. This led me to lose one room booked through booking.com for my cousin. Consequently I had to book direct to the hotel at the double rate.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Jabal Omar Marriott Hotel Makkah and it was a delight from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, well equipped, clean and comfy bed with a to Masjid Haram view Many options for breakfast with a discount for booking customer. The location of the hotel is about 7 min walk but in a hot weather you need a shuttle to the Masjid Haram which they are provided by the hotel.

The buses that take the guests to the Masjid Haram, 3 of them need an AC repair and need to wait at least 5 minutes to pickup people from the the Masjid ( have been told they come every 10 min,,,,, but they don't wait for 10 min to pick up people from the Masjid),and it's too hot to wait outside. I Had to return with different bus and saw my hotel buses 2 of them parking and do nothing. The pillows need a change, they are very flat and had to put more than one to feel comfortable. One day I returned from the Masjid Haram wanted to sleep and I turned on the red light for don't disturb and one guy kept knocking the door asking if I needed anything.

24/7 shutter service available. Location is very near to Haram. Staff was very cooperative.

While booking, I searched and booked for 3 persons. and it recommended a room with 2 twin beds. it was mentioned that it is best and suitable for 3 persons, but it was actually for 2 persons only with 2 twin beds. Staff was supportive and kind enough to give us an upgrade having 3 beds but I don't think that will be the case every time. Booking.com should not show a 2 twin bedroom suitable for 3 persons.

The location is very good. Room was very big and clean.

The first room we got was very stinky so we had to change it. But even that one had some amount of smell. Also the breakfast was not that great as well even though there were alot of option. Some food was undercooked.

- I had asked for an early checkin but rooms were not ready at that time so I was provided a free of charge upgrade.

- the number of golf carts taking people to Haram need to increase. - this part of Jabal Omar project does not have a food court or a grocery store.

Almost every facility at this hotel went above and beyond my expectations. The food, the hospitality, the distance from the mosque. It’s incredibly difficult to fault this hotel.

Almost every staff member was excellent, almost. There was one male receptionist who was incredibly arrogant and caused us a number of inconveniences but the rest of the staff were excellent.
