We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place and even extended our stay because it felt like paradise! The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed – perfect for cooking after a day of adventure. A special thanks to the incredibly kind hosts, Gaby and Victor, whose hospitality and helpfulness made our experience even better. The road was recently paved, so there were no issues with access. The pool was amazing – a perfect refreshment after a hot day, and everything was spotless. Overall, this is a highly recommended place, and we would love to return! Mucho gusto!

We would have liked to stay longer.

Easy to check in, host was supportive and conscientious, very comfortable room with good size. Pillows good, mattress comfortable, table and sufficient chairs. Other guests were pleasant and some breakfast is included (eggs, bread) with nice cooking area. There are places to store your food. I appreciated the tea 😊 the air conditioning was excellent.

Because of how Google Maps works I did the following to find the property: Load the Booking.com app then opening the location in Google maps worked for me. Toilet flush was not the very best, but everything functional and host was helpful.

I had an excellent stay at this accommodation! The staff were extremely nice and friendly, and when I had an issue with my room, they immediately resolved it and arranged for a new one without any hassle. The location is ideal for visiting Marillo Balena, and they even helped me organize a last-minute tour, which was a huge plus. The breakfast was great. Gallo pinto was cooked to perfection! The cleanliness and overall atmosphere made the place feel like home. I would definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great place with a friendly vibe and prime location!

Rooms and Pool Macaw (RPM) reminds of the old-time motor-hotel courts where you drive your car into the wrap-around building enclosure and park in front of your room. The area easily supported 7 cars and a motorcycle or two. The central common-use kitchen, with tables and chairs for about 16-20 people, had all pots/pans/appliances and sundry dry goods needed to cook any meal you could conjure. Gabi and Victor, live-in owners, are available almost immediately if a guest has questionsor any issues. All answered or solved with smiles. A very nice 22" Weber Barbque was available for use also. Great fajita machine for cooking veggies, chicken, beef of pork chops. Which we did. The open Kitchen served as a meeting place for all guests inclined to have meals in, rather than out. We met folks from England, Hungary, Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Canada, Panama, France and, last but least, Oklahoma. As is usual in these circumstances, everyone spoke English. (US Education is covered in another review). The rooms had air conditioning that worked very well. The shower hot-water was great. The Wifi worked without any issues. The pool could be counted as a life-saving device given the humidity of Uvita. A nice cool water shower poolside is a great feature. Trees surrounding the facility were places we saw some colorful birds. Gabi and Victor have a feeding platform on which they put fruit to attract the birds. While we were there (Jan 24- Feb 3, 2024) there was a pair of Scarlet Macaws visiting one of the trees for several days. Right. There. Above. You. (If you wnt to prep, we say Blue-Gray Tanagers, Paserinni's Tanagers (Red Butts), Red-Legged Honey Creepers, Mockingbirds and more). The National Park beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away. In that area, there are a few good restaurants and Sodas. A great Super Market is maybe a 5 minute drive away.

RPM is off the main highway about a mile down a fairly rough, unpaved road. Slow and easy is the way to drive it. Most of the walk to the beach is down the same road.

Contacting the staff via booking.com was super easy and convenient. We got quick and helpful replies and tips. Great common facilities to deal with meals independently. Close enough to the playa, yet in a quiet (a bit remote) area. Easy check in and check out.

When walking back from the playa and centre of the village, the pedestrian path was not super reliable (work in progress) - note that this is likely to be out of the owners' control.

It was an easy walk to the national park and good restaurants. We enjoy having the shared kitchen even though it likely contributed to the cockroach we found in our room. The a/c made the muggy nights comfy. Though the pool, also, helped. The room was big. Unlike other hotels, this one had plenty of hooks and adequate outlets. The hostess made the stay very easy. She even offered food to share in the community kitchen.

Would rate 10+ out of 10. Excellent and friendly hosts, very welcoming, kind and caring!! Clean rooms and a beautiful cozy place close enough to the beach and supermarkets!! Loved the pool, community kitchen, rooms, facilities and most of all the family oriented set-up with amazing people!! Would definitely come back again. We loved staying at Macaws! Gaby and her family are super nice and very helpfull. We originally only booked two nights but loved it so much we stayed longer. There are 10 cabinas around the central area with a nice pool and communal kitchen. Everything is sparkling clean and tidy. The kitchen has literally everything you need (including coffee from Gaby's fathers coffeefarm) and is very well organised, a great place to meet people and have a chat. The cabinas are spacious, and nicely decorated. We had one with a comfy double bed and single bed, desk, ac and a large bathroom with nice hot shower. Uvita is quite spread out, but from Macaws its easy to get everywhere, the area itself is nice and quiet. So if you're looking for a place with great rooms, a pool and a great kitchen, this is it!

Walking distance from the national park and whale watching trips. Very friendly and easy check in. Loved the small pool to cool off and the outdoor covered kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals for our family. Not forgetting the Scarlett macaws that lived in the tree on the property. We had a great stay.
