Very pleased by our spacious King room (#9) that was well-furnished, well-lit, and well-placed at the corner of the building overlooking the public lawn space. There is a very nice hot breakfast buffet ( with real dishes and silverware!) radiant heating of the slate floor in the room was quite lovely, friendly staff people Kendra and Danielle. We stayed at a quiet time so it was a bit eerie yet peaceful for our needs. This villa feels like a fading European inn that has seen better days but is pridefully carrying on. There could be more grounds keeping and more maintenance of the units (loose shower faucet handle, had to jiggle toilet handle at times) but, all in all, a special place. There are outdoor movies in the evening with s'mores at the fire pit, although we did not partake as it was quite chilly the two nights (in July!) that we stayed. The semi-wild grounds just outside the property beckoned a short walk to a quiet (stagnant) pond. This Villa offers an interestingly secluded and comfortable departure from the everyday noise and bustle of our world.

Outdoor swimming pool was unheated so using it in the cool of this coastal climate is a bit forbidding unless you like cold plunges. The water in our shower took forever to heat. So unfortunate since there were signs around to conserve water which is understandable given the constancy of droughts these days. The hotel Wi-Fi was weak and inconsistent. Cell service in that remote corner of the coast is sporadic, as one can predict. These are small quibbles as we will more than likely return again as many guests seem to do!

The staff were super kind and helpful, Steve at the front desk is such a warm welcome and had all the info I needed and more. I was in town for work, and the cozy room provided a much needed good nights sleep, I woke up so happy. The hot tub was lovely, had some great weather as this hotel seems to be perfectly tucked away from the wind, so the pool was a perfect spot to read and relax. The grounds are charming and full of beautiful plant life, I love this little place, I'll definitely be back :)

wifi was pretty spotty, but if you're there to unplug then it's perfect. just something to be aware of if you have to work on your trip!

We had a wonderful stay! The location was absolutely lovely—set on a peaceful ranch with beautiful surroundings that really let us unwind and enjoy nature. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a cozy fireplace that made the evenings extra special. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the nightly s’mores by the campfire paired with a movie under the stars—such a unique and relaxing experience! Breakfast was a simple continental spread but still quite good and just what we needed to start the day. The only thing I would have added is a full-length mirror in the room. Other than that, everything was perfect. We would definitely stay again!

It was everything the pictures showed and so much more. It is in the middle of a Dairy farming community but you wouldn't think so. It felt like we were in an upper class Mediterranean villa somewhere in Spain. We absolutely loved our room. The grounds and a lovely breakfast before leaving.

We arrived late and they didn't have dinner service. I would advise eating on your way or bringing food with you. They do have a fridge, a keurig and coffee & cream and a couple of cookies in the room. The Villa is a little way out from food places, and it was late. Door dash was an option if you don't mind paying for distance they would need to travel

My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. Tatiana checked us in while Kendra, the general manager warmly welcomed us with a glass of local red wine. We stayed in room two with our dogs and were delighted with the accommodations of a fireplace, king bed, mini fridge and spacious room. The breakfast each morning was delicious. Kendra even shared recipes with me of two of my favorite dishes that were made. The location was ideal! We were visited The Birds Café (great artichoke tacos), Sea Flower Café, Dillon Beach, Halleck Vineyard (schedule pairing tasting ahead of time), and Drake’s. All were no more than 20 minutes at most from Sonoma Coast Villa. Very quaint, serene, and rustic coastal charm with an extremely friendly and hospitable staff. I highly recommend booking here for your next getaway.

Staff are super friendly. Grounds are spacious, pickleball court, fire pit area with s'mores and a movie. Nice, extensive area to walk our dog. Room was also very spacious with a fireplace. Shower was fantastic!! Room had a separate tub area which was helpful to rinse out our dog after a day at the beach. Location was close to some amazing pet friendly beaches, Doran, Dillan, and beach at the end of Pinnacle Gulch coastal access trail (this one was the best! cleanest and least populated)

Limited variety, but even breakfast was good here. Bagels, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, and cereal. An egg and sausage selection were the hot options. Maybe a waffle station?

Even though room was between office and spa, the room was generally quiet. Staff on arrival was not overly helpful but she did warm up later. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Excellent shower. Very nice breakfast both days. The staff seems to trying very hard to make your stay a pleasant one.

Upon awakening the first morning, power and water were out. Understandably, this happens on the coast periodically, but a backup generator for the well pump would have been an appreciated benefit. If the power outage had continued, we would have been forced to leave as the bathrooms were not functioning.

Really enjoyed the fireplace in the room, the comfy king bed, and the bonus movie night outside with s’mores. It was nice to open the screen door for fresh air, too. I forgot to bring a swimsuit, so I didn’t try the hot tub. The breakfast was decent—included some hot items (scrambled eggs, a meat option) to cold: yogurt, granola, central, fruit, plus toast/bagel and coffee/tea. The fresh fruit salad was delicious. I stayed from Sunday to Tuesday, so it was relatively quiet.

There are only 18 rooms at the Sonoma Coast Villa, so it really felt like we were on a private retreat. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We brought our dog and it was nice having a pet relief area (a small patch of turf) available, as well as a large lawn in the back for him explore. There are also other amenities that we’ll explore when the weather is better, like the putting green, bocce ball court and pool. There’s also an indoor jacuzzi, so be sure to bring your bathing suit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The reception staff went into detail explaining the nearby dining options and personally showing us to our room. We had the junior king suite by the pool, room 6. It’s quite spacious and has a wood-burning fireplace. Note that each room has a mini fridge (big enough to hold wine bottles), but there are no microwaves in the room. There is a microwave you can use in the dining room whenever the front building is open. I was also very pleased with the included breakfast. They offered eggs, bacon and sausage, in addition to pastries, oatmeal and cold cereal. There is also coffee and cookies available throughout the day. We’d definitely recommend this place.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Reminded me of an Italian villa: so many amenities! Movie nights, putt-putt, pool, hot tub and lovely patios. Breakfast was substantial! My room had a fireplace, soaking tub, and small refrigerator. This is the first time I’ve brought my dog. He adjusted quite nicely and I never left him unattended. A truly peaceful, rejuvenating vacation and hope to visit again.

Wish there was a paved walking path around the property.
