We had a lovely time at the Cottages On The River Road. The grounds are very peaceful and nicely cared for. Surrounded by beautiful Redwood trees. Many outdoor areas to sit outside and enjoy the sun, or a meal. Bedrooms are very comfortable. We stayed at a King Studio cottage; on the small side, but comfortable, especially the bed. The daily breakfast was decent. They had breakfast sandwiches, fresh muffins, slow cooked oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc. No gluten free items though. The staff was very nice and friendly. Nearby are many restaurants, some within walking distance. They had a nightly fire pit with all the ingredients to make s'mores. It's off the main road, so you can hear the cars when you're outside, but not indoors (our room did not face the street). If you're noise sensitive, request a cottage that is not on the River Road side of the property. Thin shared walls with neighbors, but manageable. Loved the bathtub! We loved our stay here and would definitely come back.

The property was lovely with well cared for walking paths and flowers, a very pretty garden design, a fire pit, and close parking outside the locked gate. We thought that might be an issue since the cottages are on the main street, but all worked out great. The breakfast was lovely and there was something for everyone. The room was a bit smaller than we expected but it was clean and well equipped with everything we needed.

We had a bit of a problem logging onto our Netflix and Amazon accounts, but the staff came quickly to try to solve the problem, which they were able to do.

Cute property and friendly staff. I was in room number 5, it was nice and comfortable. The continental breakfast was adequate with various options and delicious little breakfast sandwiches. Although I didn’t bring my pet this trip the place was very pet friendly. I didn’t get to experience it due to it rained my whole trip, but they light a fire pit and have s’mores available around 7pm each night. I may return in the summer just to experience that.

The toasting equipment didn’t get my bagel or English muffin toasty enough no matter how times I ran it through the machine. I like my bagel crunchy and brown. The sink in room 5 took a long time to drain. I shared that with the staff and they were going to check it out right away. I told them they didn’t have to worry about it until after I checked out. I could deal with a little slow drain.

The one bedroom cottage was spacious, clean and had comfortable furniture and beds (queen and twin). It had a full kitchen as well (but only one wine glass 😏). The bathroom was small but had a cool sink and warm shower. Host was friendly and helpful. I felt safe within the gated, well-kept grounds and S'mores are provided most nights around the fire pit.

The heating units (an older and newer wall unit) in the living room did not warm up the space for the cold January night. A separate space heater and a few extra blankets would have done the job. Bathroom is very small with very little counter space for toiletries but there are small shelves over the toilet and a hook on the door along with a small cabinet outside the bathroom. Breakfast not available before 8:30.

Quaint spot in the Russian River area...super friendly desk workers and the private cottages are truly lovely. Great value and they invited us to sit by the firepit which was lit at 7:00 and enjoy smores which they supply. Bags of ice were in the microwave room and that was truly handy and appreciated. The complimentary breakfast included english muffins, tea, coffee, orange juice, yogurts, slow cooked oatmeal, fruit and little breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese and meat. We will definitely recommend Cottages on River Road in Guerneville to others and we will be back this summer!

Stylish decor (West Elm-ish), great bedside lighting for reading, good breakfast with slow-cooked oatmeal and other goodies, well-landscaped property safe and quiet, happy about refillable toiletries in shower/tub, heat/AC unit works well, nice sofa-chaise and television in front room, unit 7 was spacious with two bedrooms although the beds took up too much space in each room. I learned this property experienced serious flooding in 2019 and has been completely rehabbed which explains why the property looks new, modern and clean. The pool is quite refreshing in the heat of early October. An adorable orange cat on the premises kept my hubby company as he swam and promptly took an afternoon nap on his beach towel. This was a great base to rest while exploring all the myriad attractions of beautiful Sonoma county.

The two women who staffed the reception desk are less than friendly and unprofessional in behavior and appearance. They barely greet you upon entry and reluctantly answer questions while looking distracted. They are an unexpected contrast to the higher quality aspects of this property. Also disappointed that there were few obvious efforts to conserve and recycle. Too many disposable plates, cups, plastic utensils and food waste. And it would have been nice to have a microwave and real glassware in the cottage.

From the minute we walked in we were impressed. The lady at the front was super informative and arranged breakfast for us because we were going to need to leave before the breakfast was served. Our cottage was clean, comfy and spacious. After dinner, we sat by the firepit (which was not on due to fire danger), had a night cap and some dessert, and had a snuggle with the very affectionate house cat! Breakfast was out early and was delicious!

The lighting in the bathroom is not too good for putting on make up, etc. Also toilet, sink and shower are altogether so one person can use the bathroom at a time.

The breakfast had wonderful choices that were healthy and tasty. Fruit, yogurt, muffins, a lovely quiche, coffee, juice, hard boiled eggs and more. What a tremendous value for the stay and wonderful breakfast. I highly recommend this for a value packed quick getaway. It was clean, quiet and up-to-date.

For some people who need extreme luxuries, this may not be your choice of places. But for us, it was lovely, comfortable, clean and beautiful with tall trees and green surroundings. What's not to like...

Exceeded my expectations, the rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room for a family of 4 (2 adult kids), the lobby and gardens were pleasant. There were smores at night by the fire pit which was unexpected, all the items were provided to make them. Breakfast in the morning was above what was expected as well. Great over all stay, I will be back when we are in the area again!

Room was not ready until 4:00, which was ok, that is what was advertised. I was hoping it would of been ready a little early. We got there at 3:00, but there is a brewery and general store near by that we could walk to while we waited.

We loved our stay here - very close to Russian River and Guerneville. The central courtyard was a nice place to relax and hangout, and each room comes with a porch where you can have a little more privacy. Staff was nice and helpful, and the breakfast was yummy and filling! We didn't use the communal pool, but it was nice to have the option, and the AC was a godsend considering how hot the day was.

The only downsides were that our room's floor wasn't totally flat, so it was a bit disorienting but not too much; and the parking is right off of the main road, so it is a bit scary to drive out of. We weren't too concerned about the security of our car, but a parking removed from the main road would have been nice nevertheless.
