Very good price, super friendly staff, not a wild party vibe which suited me, but had lots of events and socialising which was great as a solo traveller. Beds were comfortable. You could book excursions there. The fund raiser and trip to the local school project the money was raised for was a really nice experience. Great views and a pool which is a bonus. Mona the guest experience lead was just a dream, made me feel super welcome and included in everything, gave good advice about the town/local area and put on an amazing drag show for pride!

Woken up on my first night by people having loud sex in the dorm which I find incredibly disrespectful. Not the hostels fault but I guess due to the kinda people you may get at a party hostel. Loud doors and some doors to the bathrooms/showers don't close properly which is anxiety provoking. I'm not sure how well the showers and toilets were actually cleaned either, they always seemed a bit grimey. Could do with an area you can go after the pool area closes to make phone calls etc somewhere comfortable. Standing around on the balcony and sitting on the stairs wasn't ideal. Food is also expensive but it tasted good so not a huge issue but for backpackers a lower price would be better.

Great location for pick-ups for activities. Social atmosphere at the bar every night with lots of events going on - really easy to meet people. Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms with plenty of showers and toilets.

Very disrespectful dorm mates - belongings were left all over the floor and bathroom, and some girls would bring people back at 5am (boys included despite this being a female dorm) to continue the party, drinking and talking loudly. Obviously not the fault of the staff but this is something to bear in mind if choosing to stay here!

A good social hostel that was pretty busy and had lots of tours and things to organise for you. The bathrooms were clean and spacious and the AC was strong and beds were really comfy. There was locker space under the beds but no locks provided and everyone just kinda left there stuff unlocked and trusted each other. I asked to check out slightly later and the receptionist changed some bookings to allow me to take a nap.

Some of the social events at night weren’t that well attended but i guess it depends on the day. One night a few of the other guests in the dorm came home super drunk and loud at 3am and woke everyone up, but I guess that’s always a risk. The lock stopped working on my last morning meaning I couldn’t nap in the morning as each person has to be let in and my bed was by the door.

I appreciate everything, especially the manager and his family crews. They’re friendly and helpful. I didn't feel alone while I was staying at Mad Monkey Vang Vieng. The hostel has a lovely view, a charming bar, excellent food, and some very attractive guests. What else could I expect? The hostel is almost in the center of the town. It took me about a minute to get to the main street by walking. Moreover, the hostel provides other services, such as a tour. P.S. Thank you, brother Tawan, for your suggestion and company.

Lively place with all facilities you need, great swimming pool and view terrace. The bar and restaurant were fine, we had breakfast all the time and it was good. Music, snooker and sunbeds. I think we've got a great value for hanging in and out in Vang Vieng. We also booked Tubing and Train tickets by their tourist office and the experience was smooth.

Pillows were really hard, almost impossible to sleep on.

The place was really nice, clean, they have different activities everyday. Walking distance from everywhere in the center.

The only thing I didn’t like is that my bed was right next to the bathroom and we were a lot of people in the room so every time someone was on the bathroom wakes me up. And the floor of the area of my bed it was most of the time wet.

Such an amazing few days here. Beds were comfy, rooms were spotless, pool was really nice… and most importantly the staff were so amazing. Everyone working behind reception and bar as well as the reps; Rad, Rachel and Toni just made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Would really recommend- there’s party if you want it but it is also a nice chilled hostel (compared to other mad monkeys)

Wi-Fi was hit and miss Price was expensive for drinks and tipsy tubing, compared to other hostels, for exactly the same thing

The vibe was quite good as there were mostly backpackers who are doing long travels. It is the place to go if you wanna meet other travelers and make new friends. I befriended with Jess during my stay who was really nice and lovely and she was working part-time as a guest for Mad Monkey to organize activities.

Very nice place! Clean dorms with clean and big bathrooms ensuite (3 showers + 3 toilets for a 12 dorm). Rooms were cleaned every day, I think bathroom twice. They can arrange everything for you ( especially tibsy tubing🤩). Swimming pool and bar also very nice. Good location.

It’s party, but not annoyingly.

Good location, could walk where I needed to go. Clean, friendly staff, van service to airport could be booked here, I liked the way the beds were set up. No ladder to climb to top bunk. They had a short set of stairs. There was a locker/cubboard inside the bed area that could be locked. Nice blackout curtains.

I liked the hostel so I was fine with everything.
