Our third visit to this wonderful oasis. We come to see Andre the manager whom we fell in love with on our first visit approx 13 years ago. He was on top form making everyone feel welcome and ensuring everyone was having a relaxing time. The property has a lovely large infinity pool overlooking the ostriches and fields which is so relaxing, there’s also a seating area and a bar which is is great to lounge in after a busy day out exploring. Breakfast is an excellent varied hot and cold buffet and dinner is a delicious three course event with a Braai of a choice of meat, I really recommend the Karoo lamb or the local ostrich. Room super comfortable overlooking the garden and fields with big king bed and lovely soft pillows, I love the decadent ostrich skin headboards that only this area of SA would have and consider normal. large bathroom with big bath and separate shower, also separate loo. Always sad to leave this place. Parking very safe just outside your room, very convenient. Everything spotlessly clean.

The breakfast was fantastic! It included a variety of fresh fruit, cereals, freshly baked breads, cheeses, jams, and a typical English breakfast. The coffee was freshly brewed! It was great value for money, and there was lots to choose from every morning. I used the pool every morning. What a view from there. Towels were provided. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Peace and serenity await anyone who stays here.

We had an excellent stay at Mooiplass Guesthouse! Superman John, Marshall and all the staff made us feel right at home. They went the extra mile to make sure our stay was great. We also took the informative ostrich farm tour with Ben at he guesthouse. Ben is very knowledgeable in everything ostrich! He also doubles as the braai master! The dinner was delicious in a beautiful spot, outside overlooking the pool and the expanse of the Karoo. Recommend having dinner at the guesthouse! The rooms very well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was very generous with plenty of options. The guesthouse is in a great location near the main ostrich farms outside Oudtshoorn.

Nothing!

This guesthouse has a beautiful pool area with nice views. Upon entrance, there are ostriches (behind a fence) greeting you. The property lies next to a road, but there is almost no traffic, so it’s not disturbing. Staff is wonderful (especially Mr Superman John). If in Oudtshoorn, I would definitely recommend this stay, allowing you to do an ostrich farm tour on the property and to relax by the pool.

The rooms are very spacious, but might feel a little bit outdated. They were very clean though, so not a big point for us. Bed was comfy!

The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and clean. Extra touches such as water, chocolate and port in the room make it special. The pool area is great 👍 with loads of room for both adults and kids to enjoy the pool to cool off. We had a lovely buffet breakfast spread and dinner set menu was delicious. The staff make every effort to make the stay enjoyable.

Loved the big sparkly pool, loved the large Veranda and decor. The outside Bar was a bonus as we were served drinks from our sun-loungers. Eating breakfast out here was also divine. It gives you a Resort type feel. The bedrooms are extra spacious and tastefully decorated with solid / quality furniture. You feel like royalty staying at this premise. Especially the staff (Superman) make you feel like a million dollars with their exceptional service! Highly recommend this place and will most certainly return.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Always courteous, friendly and accommodating. We had a superb candlelight dinner for our group of 4 which was excellent and the staff had set up the room so nicely. Before that we had sat by a well prepared open fire in the lounge to enjoy our sundowners and unwinding time. The breakfast included was also very good

There were a few issues with settling into our rooms as the ACs in both rooms were not working and it was very cold. The staff immediately moved us to 2 other rooms where the AC were working. There were a few other minor lack of maintenance issues in the rooms that the property would benefit in being addressed. The internet was also not working very well.

Location; excellent staff and delicious food. Superman John and Andre were exceptional hosts and made sure our stay was comfortable. All the staff are friendly. The food was really delicious and more than enough.

Rooms can do with new carpets. But is was nice and clean

Personal attention and friendly staff. Nothing was too much and always going the xtra mile. The quality and choice of the food is fit for royalty. The view at breakfast was breathtaking. Loved being able to see the ostriches up and close.

Everything was perfect

We spent one night at the guesthouse as we did a short stop in Oudtshoorn on our October/November 2022 Garden Route trip. After the obligatory visit to the excellent Cango Caves, we checked into the Mooiplaas Guesthouse (about a 30 minute drive from the Caves). Everybody was super friendly, relaxed and very willing to make our stay wonderful. After a relaxing massage, we had dinner on the patio next to the pool with a beautiful sunset. food was delicious and the service was superb. After dinner we had drinks at the firepit and retired for the night. Breakfast was plentiful and John's service was fantastic. All the staff made us feel very welcome. After breakfast we checked out and visited the Highgate Ostrich farm on the way out. It was about 5 minutes from Mooiplaas, before continuing back to the Garden Route.

There is nothing we can fault with Mooiplaas. We had a wonderful stay there.
