Magda made us thoroughly welcome. Our room was beautiful, the bed s comfortable and a well stocked mini bar. We used the information pack from the room to wander around the town an find the early 1900s houses built during the ostrich feather boom. Magda recommended the Nostalgie restaurant and rang to book us a table (Saturday night). It was an excellent meal. There was a great choice at breakfast and the hot food was cooked fresh. TBH we found the Klein Karoo much more interesting than the Garden route. We had a 2WD SUV type car and Magda confirmed we could do the Swartberg pass which was eminently doable with a little care and it is definitely worth doing the loop back to Oudtshoorn. We considered staying another night - but it was fully booked!

Christo and Magda are wonderfully warm and welcoming people, who make sure that you are completely comfortable and have everything you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious, airy and beautifully appointed - with a private verandah, big bathroom and well stocked honesty bar. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean - even down to a little towel-elephant waiting on the bed when we got in! The property is also located right on the main strip, with excellent restaurants walking distance away. All in all, I wish we could stay longer...

Everything! This is a definite 10/10 stay in every way. The hosts are wonderful, went over and above to help, give perfect recommendations and make your stay in the area special. They know the area very well and every recommendation was spot on. The breakfasts are great, with a full selection to start your day. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Local restaurants were in walking distance and excellent (special mention for Nostalgie restaurant, you won't be disappointed!!). What else is there to say, we loved it!

Christo and Magda were born to host. What would you like for breakfast? Name it, they'll make it to order. Very attentive. Lots of little hospitality details that didn't go unnoticed. Great recommendations on places to eat, see, etc. Some interesting history was given as well. Our room was beautiful. Nicely decorated, spacious, immaculately clean. The bed was sooooo comfy. Loved meeting Marta and Christo. We are sorry we didn't stay longer.

The owners, Magda and Christo, are a fantastic, friendly, helpful couple - we could not have felt more welcome. The place is immaculate, spotlessly clean, with every small detail taken care of. The included breakfast spread is magnificent, taken on the beautiful patio.... Superb location, close walking distance to many good restaurants and places of interest. Overall - great value, worth every penny at twice the price. Don't miss this place

Absolutely nothing!

The hospitality, comfort, cleanliness and food were exceptional! The recommendation and booking of an excellent restaurant within walking distance was highly appreciated. Although we didn’t swim, the pool was beautiful and clean. There is also an air conditioner in the room which has been put on in anticipation of us arriving on a very hot day. Lots of information was also given about the historical points in the town. We really enjoyed our short stay!

This was undoubtedly the accommodation with the warmest welcome during our trip to South Africa. Thank you to our hosts for the wonderful conversations and the excellent advice provided (meals and activities). They also managed reservations for our activities and meals on our behalf. In addition to having amazing hosts, the establishment is stunning and very well located. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

A beautiful property with well kept gardens and off-street parking. Such comfortable beds with great linens - we slept so well. Air con was a blessing in the summer heat, as well as the sparkling pool. Magda and her husband were always on hand to help with local dinner reservations etc. Walking distance to the best restaurants, but very quiet in the bedrooms. Tasty breakfasts. We look forward to returning.

Breakfast location was perfect - on the stoep. I could imagine myself being an Ostrich feather Baron surrounded by/overlooking historical buildings. Add a sumptuous breakfast (Christo can really prepare eggs! be it scrambled or fried) and you have the perfect experience. Add Magda to the equation, always friendly and mingling with guests, making sure the breakfast is an experience not merely a meal. Well done!!

Keep on doing what you are doing!

Great place to stay in Outshoorn, super clean and comfortable. The hosts Christo and Magda were very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. Restaurants close by and Nostalgie is a great spot for some traditional South African food. The pool was great to cool off after a hot day. The breakfast buffet and hot breakfast were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend 88 Baron van Rheede Guesthouse.
