We stayed in the gate house - beautiful old house - nice and cosy with logs on the fire

The swimming pool could have been a bit warmer and the facilities only stayed open until 8pm...9pm would be better

Nice comfortable room.

Breakfast didn't start until 8.30am, which seems very late for anyone that has to get up and leave early. We needed to be in Anstruther 40 mins before our 9.30am boat trip to the Isle of May so had to leave and buy breakfast in Anstruther instead which was disappointing as breakfast was included with our room.

I visited Kilconquar estate for the 2nd time mid February with my mum, dad and daughter who’s 11, we loved all the facilities available especially the badminton and swimming. My daughter had a horse riding experience which was amazing within the stables of the estate. All the staff are very kind and welcoming and always available to help. The breakfast we had was also really good which was included in the price of our break. The location is good I’d say as we loved visiting Crail, St Andrews and anstruther the fish bar there is lovely. All round an amazing place to stay with beautiful grounds will definitely return later in the year x

We had a little noisy neighbours during our stay which I wouldn’t normally mention about but it was all through the night only for one night tho.

We have stayed at the estate several times over the past 30 years. We love the location and facilities at the leisure centre which are just perfect for our grandchildren. The staff are great- super friendly and helpful.

Having visited the estate many times we are aware that many of the properties are dated and require upgrading. Given the price paid for this booking, we were expecting one of the more modern villas. Sadly we were allocated Villa no.10 which although spacious with an excellent outlook and location was clearly very damp. The guttering at the side of the villa is blocked and rain water could be heard pouring down forming a puddle below 2 of the bedroom windows. We noticed a broken roof tile too. The damp smell increased during the week despite using the heating system and was quite unpleasant and noticeable on our clothing. Very disappointing to have spent so much on such a property which clearly needs some major work.

We thought the villa was perfect for our needs and really enjoyed the accommodation, restaurant and swimming facilities.

We found we had no hot water on the Saturday morning. There were instructions about a boost and turning your hot water on in the morning for 4 hours. The instructions were not clear, we hit the button and it became green so we thought the hot water was on in the kitchen and sauna area. It did not explain it was for the two areas not just those areas mentioned! It also did not say you needed to click again and again and again to get 4 hours hot water. The maintenance man explained - could have been clears,

Lovely grounds, pool & sauna were great. Room was clean & well maintained. Reception & leisure centre staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Nice cooked breakfast.

Didn’t warn me there was a wedding the night I stayed. The marquee was in an area that acts like an amphitheater next to my room, loud dance music playing until midnight when I really wanted a quiet night at a country retreat. Bar closed to residents at 10:45pm, as staff obviously wanted an early finish. The rooms next to the marquee should have been allocated to the wedding gusts & non attendees placed in rooms not impacted by the noise.

The staff was absolutely fantastic. It was so nice to go for an evening swim to relax ourselves after the long enjoyable days. The pool is very large, so there was plenty of space for everyone. In the changing rooms there are saunas. The breakfast each morning was absolutely spectacular. They served the best omelette I have had in my life, and trust me I have had many. The coffee was very lovely too. The grounds are in extremely good condition and very well maintained. The castle itself is very well kept and the rooms that we stayed in were in extremely good condition. We had absolutely no complaints and look forward to coming back soon.

First-class hotel in wonderful parkland. Extremely comfortable room with (almost) everything you could wish for, and a lovely walk-in shower. The Scottish Fine Soaps lotions provided were a luxurious bonus, as was the free wi-fi. Dinner on our first night in the Bistro was excellent, and the kitchen prepared a breakfast pack as we had to start very early the next day. Breakfast on the days we were there was substantial and tasty. The dog and I enjoyed some bracing walks around the immaculately-kept estate grounds.

Minor points, I'm sure, but the room lacked a table to write at or put a laptop, with a suitable chair - some trips are not all leisure. Also, no place for unpacking a suitcase except the bed or floor, and with no shelf the floor had to suffice for toilet bags in the bathroom too. Not ideal!

Breakfast & Diner options were exceptionally delicious. We were a party of 6 adults and 1x 1year old and the staff couldn't be more helpful. From decorating our villa to celebrate our daughter's1st Birthdayon arrival, to making sure we're having a nice stay. Weather was also amazing which adds on to the experience. We would definitely come back without hesitation. The only suggestion would be to make the estate restaurant bigger to accommodate more visitors without having to book your space.

We really enjoyed our stay in Kilconquhar, we loved the number of onsite activities including the pool, games room and mini golf. There were badminton and tennis courts too, and we enjoyed walking around the estate and looking at the horses and rabbits. The room was clean and neat, with everything we needed, including dressing gowns which was a bonus. Breakfast was lovely, staff were great too.

The main potential downside was that the room was in the main castle building and on the colder side. To say the weather was good, we were absolutely fine and enjoyed our stay (just slept in a few layers), but this could be a concern in winter or colder weather- bring layers! The shower was also lukewarm and didn't really get hot, even went completely cold after showering for a while.
