Balmungo Cottage is a lovely, immaculate property with beautiful views. The gardens are lovely and I loved watching the pheasant and his partner every morning! The owners, Norma and Alan, were absolutely charming and so helpful. Norma cooks a wonderful full breakfast, as well as cereal, fresh fruits, yoghurts, juice and delicious coffee. She makes her own honey, and jams and breakfast was so delcious and so relaxing. I cannot fault anything about our stay. It was simply perfect and a great base as we were staying to attend our sons wedding. I would love to stay there again.

I cannot think of anything that could be better.

Lovely cottage set in a beautifully tranquil location, you wouldn’t think it was only 5-10 mins from St Andrews. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the gardens, views and visiting wildlife. The cottage was spotless, comfortable (perfect nights sleep!) and the hosts really made our stay memorable. Norma and Alan were warm and welcoming, gave great tips on the local area and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The breakfast was an added bonus and was always exceptional! We could not have been happier with our stay, the only downside is that we didn’t get to stay for longer!

There was absolutely nothing we did not like, we could not fault a single thing.

The location was phenomenal, indoors was quaint, tidy and clean. Outside had an incredible view of St. Andrews and the Ocean in the distance were both beautiful! Norma made up an amazing breakfast with Fried egg, saute' mushrooms, warm tomato, Scottish sausage, toast and home maid jams. There was ham, fresh fruit and cereals plus milk, yogurt and orange juice! Cozy place and the sweetest and accomodating people! After a couple weeks of touring tight European streets, old forts and Cathedrals, this place was a breath of fresh air!

Absolutely nothing I can think of!

Norma and Allen were fabulous hosts! Very attentive, friendly, kind, and wonderful folks with which to interact. There is so much to compliment about our stay! Our room/suite was very lovely! We had terrific views of St Andrews and the ocean in the far distance, but the best view was of the garden right off our patio. It was such an enchanted property, so finely tended with love. We were spoiled with an amazing breakfast served in our room with the gorgeous views. I was so glad I had booked the cottage; Norma, Allen, and the cottage were one of the highlights of our trip!

Very good communication with hosts. Excellent directions to the property which was quite isolated. Easily adjusted temperature in the property and absolutely silent inside. Great views from the living room glass doors across the estuary. Very convenient taxi service and reasonable cost. Only took advantage of the cooked breakfast once but really well cooked. Remainder of breakfast was varied and tasty.

Norma and Alan are the perfect hosts. Their cottage is absolutely beautiful. Perfectly appointed. Fantastic views. Delicious homemade breakfasts. We felt so comfortable and cared for during the entire stay. It's the ideal location if you want to be just outside of town and surrounded by beauty, with just a 30 minute walk down to town. The breakfast "bonus" every morning is a visit from Elvis, the beautiful ring neck pheasant that makes a very loud and colorful appearance in the yard!

Property is located in a beautiful position close to & overlooking the town of St Andrew’s. Very well manicured lawn & gardens, lovely cottage. Norma & Alan are wonderfully warm, friendly & engaging hosts….couldn’t ask for better and lovely healthy breakfast provided each morning of our stay.

Breakfast was wonderful. I have some dietary restrictions and it was no issue at all. The homemade jams and marmalade were delicious. Norma and Alan are extremely friendly, warm, and helpful. It was great getting to speak with them, and they gave us helpful tips for exploring and parking in St. Andrews. Their property is absolutely beautiful with lovely gardens.

The location is glorious - Alan and Norma have created a beautiful and comfy "home from home" The breakfast is amazing, with lots of choices. We especialy loved the home made gooseberry jam and marmalade as well as bread from the local bakery. The gardens are a delight with glorious views across the fields to St Andrews itself. We spent a fair bit of time just chilling, being entertained by the antics of Mr and Mrs Pheasant (named by one of the grandchildren "Elivis" and Priscilla") as they scrambled to feed on seeds in the garden. A wonderful retreat but close to all the amenites and tourist spots around the East Neuk.

Nope, can't think of a thing, other than having to leave oh too soon! It is a lovely space and Alan and Norma are just so welcoming but never ovely intrusive.

Balmungo Cottage is in a stunning location in St Andrews! The cottage is beautifully presented and very relaxing for a stay in St Andrews. The hosts are absolutely fantastic and could not do enough for us. Breakfast is amazing, and the cottage has all the amenities you need.Highly recommended, we shall definitely return.
