Very helpful staff who went out of their way to make sure our bikes were secure. Very comfortable bed. Nice to have coffee bags in our room. Good breakfast.

In our opinion the cost of staying at Hotel du Vin for one night, with breakfast was extremely expensive.( We appreciate that St Andrews is expensive ). Small details we’ve enjoyed at other hotels in this chain were missing, for example herbal tea bags in our room, more than one complimentary bottle of water and body/hand lotion, all of which would have been appreciated given the cost.

I do not eat a cooked breakfast but there was only one tariff. There was not a bran cereal such as Special K in the cereal choices. There was not a healthy yogurt on offer.

I was not given a printed, detailed bill when I checked out and paid my bill. I was informed that there was a 12.5% service charge on the bill for our food bills after I had paid those extras. I had signed for our dinners on both days but there was no statement on the Service Charge on anything I signed. As a former UK MP I was responsible in the clarification of Service Charges as a non compulsory ‘tip’. If I read that there is a Service Charge on a bill I always have it removed and pay the equivalent payment in cash plus a 10% gratuity. I object to a Service Charged being added to my food bill without my consent.

Very good location in St Andrews. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. We managed to park right outside the hotel, although I expect it might be difficult to find a spot at busy times. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and the hot food cooked freshly to order.

The evening meal was OK but could have been better, especially given the price. My wife had to return her scallops starter as they were under cooked and still quite raw in the middle.

The property is in an excellent location - easy access to the town and the beach. The suite we stayed in was gorgeous, and the free standing tub with a view of the sea was magical. The staff in this hotel are second to none. Beth and Jas made our stay that extra bit special. Our little dog is always treated like royalty as well and got his own little bed and treat bag. This stay was extra special for us as we got engaged, and the venue and staff just added to what was already a perfect trip.

Friendly staff and service. Very popular with golf groups the weekend we were there. Very well located and easy walking distance to either the beach or shopping area. Rooms was very smart, bed super comfy and very quiet, we were on the second floor.

The layout, didn't feel like a traditional hotel. Hotel feels a bit disjointed and the entrance wasn't particularly welcoming. I think in a previous existence the hotels buildings were residential homes that have been transformed into a hotel. The only window in our room was a velux roof window and whilst the room was very smart, it did feel like an attic room which for £295 for one night without breakfast wasn't great value.

Staff were friendly and attentive, room was comfortable (was too warm although this is a subjective opinion) and location is excellent. Free street parking available at the front of the hotel. Will definitely stay again.

Booked evening meal at the onsite Bistro - staff were excellent, wine was priced per expectations and food was cooked well enough with good size portions. On reflection, was left feeling underwhelmed considering price paid, the little points of difference just didn't deliver.

Reception staff were fabulous - a particular shout out to Beth who went above and beyond to make our stay (a university class of 84 reunion) extra special. From bar to restaurant to housekeeping, everyone was friendly, polite and incredibly efficient. Our ensuite rooms were fabulous and really well-appointed, the whole hotel is warm and welcoming (and absolutely spotless) and the breakfasts were amazing!

There is honestly nothing that could have been improved upon!

Since we were staying at the hotel during our wedding weekend, and also hosted an afterparty in the hotel bar and Orangerie, I think our room was upgraded to (probably) the best suite in the hotel at no extra cost. The suite was incredible, with so much room and private access through a separate entrance from the main hotel entrance. The room was kitted with everything we needed and more. Such a lovely surprise!

We were in a junior suite with superb views of the sea, west beach and golf course, our package included b&b and dinner, the breakfast menu was excellent with many options available for buffet or hot breakfast. The dinner was two choices from the Al a carte menu, there were numerous starters , main courses and deserts with supplements applied to a number of choices. The hotel location is on the sea front and within 3 minutes of the shopping areas, St Andrews is a superb location for golf lovers or a great place for a relaxing visit to a historic town in Scotland

Location perfect for visiting st andrews; Beth upgraded our recently upgraded room and it was beautiful and huge and comfortable; dinner service was great and food selection varied.

Hot breakfast selection was great but everything else was self service including coffees which was a bit awkward walking back to the table; yogurt was a bit cold and almost ‘frozen’ but thawed quickly; dinner room at night could have warmer lighting or candles.
