I stayed in a room with a big bed to fit two persons. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It was on the upper floor above The Coastal Inn and accessible by stairs. There was no music or noise coming from the Inn at late hours. There were 3 rooms on the floor, but I could not hear the guests from the other rooms. The bathroom was large and had a closed-in shower with an elongated spacious cabin. The water pressure was adequate and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was a typical Scottish style breakfast together with cereals, jams, butter etc. Very tasty cooked food and prepared on the spot from the Chef of the kitchen.

The lights in the bathroom are automatic and come on every time one enters the bathroom and stay on before they go off automatically after a little while at exit. A small nuisance in the night, but at least saves energy if someone forgets to turn off the lights. The parking situation is also a little challenging, since the road on the front of the Inn is very narrow, but found a parking spot a little further down the road.

So the outbuildings is a pub however the accommodation is on another street not far 1 min walk house with 5 apartments in very private cosy and comfortable breakfast was cooked to our liking if you were early

There were a few little areas that needed finishing off decor wise but didn't by any means put us off and the tap in bathroom kept spinning round but hubby sorted that out I think at breakfast more ingredients could be available as some guests couldn't have what was on offer as they had ran out of say mushrooms or tomato for example

We liked that the accommodation was away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist area. The room was freshly decorated, it was also light and airy.

It’s not a dislike, when I booked, it was supposed to be an out building and it was up a flight and a half of stairs. Not great for my old bones. We chose to not be above the pub in fear of noise, however we were lucky and the pub was quiet on Sunday evening. So we slept soundly. There was lack of a welcome upon arrival, perhaps that could be improved on with more experience.

The staff is really friendly and attentive! The room I stayed in near the garden is generally nice and cozy, with a comfortable single bed and a nice bathroom and shower. The breakfast buffet is simple but with good options of fruits and drinks, and the chef was very nice and accommodating of my preferences for the cooked warm breakfast. Location is within walkable distance to the center of Anstruther, harbour, bus stations, restaurants and supermarket!

The wi-fi signal in the room was not very strong. Some noise from the pub downstairs on some evenings, but this was not a big issue for me as it would generally be quiet by the time I went to sleep (around 9-10 pm).

We stayed in the brand new summer house room- it was well equipped, great size and had its own parking space. Would definitely recommend. The breakfast was excellent. It was a 10 minute walk to the harbour and to lots of great fish and chip shops and bars.

Check in was tricky- you struggle to park on the road (very narrow) and then are taken to the next street for your room ( our friends were in the main outbuilding house) and we were in the new unit/ then you get your luggage. We luckily had a parking space- as they are at a premium in the area.

Staff at The Coastal Inn were so friendly and accommodating. They allowed me to check in late and even though I had to leave before breakfast in the morning, the lovely Duncan offered to do be something early. Wonderful room, very comfortable bed and lovely en-suite. Literally round the corner to the breathtaking coast. A short walk from the bus stop to/from St Andrews. I'll definitely be back! Thank you! :)

Chef Duncan, prepared and provided a fantastic breakfast and is a most convivial and accommodating person. A credit to The Coastal Inn. The hotel proprietors are also most welcoming and helpful.

Nothing we didn't like. Parking can be a bit limited in the particular street, but not a big issue to park nearby. Cellardyke and Anstruther are lovely waterside / beachside locations. The Central Inn has a most friendly bar and is only a minute's walk to the harbour and beach areas.

Duncan was very helpful and advised me where to eat in the evening. He provided me with a gluten free breakfast. The room was bigger than I expected, nice and clean with a great bathroom. The location was great for a walk into Anstruther. I just needed somewhere for a 1 night stop over and was very pleased with the Coastal Inn Outbuilding.

The room was very hot and I had to turn the radiators down, however the weather was exceptionally warm and sunny for April. The door was not easy to lock.

Lovely wee room. Great location, easy 5-10 minute walk to Anstruther. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, and bigger than I was expecting. It was very quiet despite being above a pub if this worries you! Friendly staff and a lovely cooked breakfast every morning.

It was quite a warm room with no fan or aircon - I’m sure not a problem most of the time as Scotland never seems to get very hot - but we did come straight from a snowy winter so felt the heat a bit.

The host was friendly and welcoming. Locals in the bar were great and the pub was relaxing with a really good atmosphere. The single room was small and basic but it was all I needed, it was clean and comfortable. Great location close to other bars and restaurants in Cellardyke and Anstruther. Breakfast was tasty and included in the price of the stay which was a fantastic rate too. I will visit again as I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend.
